Nicest player of all time forced to retire cause the colts don’t know how to take care of him
Deep down I'm pretty sure every player that have ever sacked him are feeling real guilty lol
Colts wouldn't risk it with Peyton Manning and look what happen. They should have kept him. But sh+t happens.
He was not FORCED to retire. He could have taken 3/6/12 months off but chose to quit
He quit because he began to risk his health playing the game. He thought of his family first, the game was second to raising his child. Not being basically crippled so he can play with them was probably number one on his list.
@@CowSaysMooMoo Let's give this scenario: you have a job that is constantly around radiation and you are getting radiation poisoning, you have a family and a lot of money, you willing to risk your health for the rest of your life over a job instead of your family and well being?
Your manners will be missed, Andrew Luck.
😭😭😭😭
fax
Not very mannerly to quit on your team two weeks before the season starts.
Debi Congram gtfoh he can make any decision he wants for himself and his family
@@tokemhigh I think we were talking about manners, which means thinking of others. Obviously he's free to do what he wants and he did.
"last time we played i disrespected you and I apologize" made me smile damn
khaki cuffs Steve Smith was real class
Yeah, I liked that one too.
Especially that last bit "you're a hell of a player " caught me off guard. Respect to steve smith
Steve smith my fav player of all time such a mean tough but stand up guy
Steve Smith was a hell of a player. He was undersized but played like he was the biggest guy on the field.

Yeah, it’s not hard to separate the two, although many have trouble doing so. It shows strength of mind and character if you can.
Antonio Brown I see what u did there lol
Agreed
🤣 Luck is either really nice or really lazy getting everyone on the field to help him up after each tackle.
or really smart
True
He was conserving energy.
He was both nice because he complemented all of them and lazy cause he made them all help him up lmfao
Or really Lucky.
Not ironic:
Nicest guy retired early for too many injuries.
Great career luck
that really sucks, I feel like he could've been of the greatest had indy gotten him an O line to protect him

He probably could have come back, but he didn't want to keep getting so jacked up from playing. Got to love Luck.

In highschool, I wrecked a guard on sweep play to the outside that I keyed on. Layed him out. Next play he wrecked me on a trap that I walked right into. As he laid on top of me, after the whistle, he asked who owed who breakfast.
We both got warnings for delaying the game cuz we couldn’t stop laughing.

Lmao we like that
That's funny dude
Prototype Professor did y’all go to breakfast or no
This was genuinely funny as hell 🤣 Being a former lineman myself I would’ve insisted on buying if it meant food ✊
to be honest seeing people be nice even when they’re playing against eachother just makes me genuinely happy
“It takes certain people to play this sport, it’s constant hitting”

Respect every position man.
Punters are people too man XD
A punter that is known for crazy speed. He takes hits frequently man.
He's actually one of the most athletic players in the NFL.
Wyndamn facts man, takes a lot of flexibility and strength in your legs
My old football coach used to say “Hit the snot out of them, help them back up and then do it again.” Playing your heart out doesn’t mean you have to lose respect for your opponent. Little things like helping a guy up off the turf isn’t soft. And if you love and respect the game there’s no reason you shouldn’t acknowledge a good play even if you were on the wrong end of it. Sure it’s a dogfight and they’re your enemy for 4 quarters... but when it’s over, they’re your peers again.
well said
unless it’s a rivalry. in that case i’m pushing off of them and getting up.
Most definetly.

That’s a damn good coach
What Andrew Luck really wanted to say is "my oline sucks, we might as well be friends."

Why you gotta be like that brah?

If I remember correctly, after every tackle or sack, Reggie White would ask you if you're okay. If you said yes, the reply was "Good. God bless you." and he walked back to the huddle

Eli Conrad that’s what i was thinking😂😂
Yeah
Facts she annoying
webZtier s nah, she’d still get it.
The type of “manners” in football is really just being respectful to people. That’s what football is about. Sure, when the game is going on it’s fine to be ruthless but when the the whistle blows that’s when you congratulate the other player if they made a play, help them up.
“Don’t call me fat that hurts my feelings man” 😭😭😂😂
Andrew Luck is in all these guys' heads its hilarious.
Ya. Like Clemson players squeezing people's butts last season lol
I think that's actually low-key genius. Being nice to the guys hitting you probably means they're less likely to take your head off when they get the chance, and just make a "softer" tackle instead.
Andy Caines you watched the video too when they said that exact thing?
Hurting Luck would make you the most hated guy in the whole league
Andy Caines doesn't matter how soft the tackle is when you can't move your arm
Tom Brady: "Thanks babe". Lmao
he calls everyone babe, a California thing
stealthiscool You don't know what you're talking about
Brady calls everyone "Babe" lol.. He reminds me of Michael Myers... " Yeah! Baby!"
stealthiscool It's actually a baseball thing
He actually said "baby" & it's a hood thang/slang for "buddy/homie/bro"
I always love the good sportsmanship when I watch a game. Opposing players helping up the other guy. When a player gets hurt badly, and you see the staff on the field putting the guy in the stretcher, and you see the opponents nearby kneeling or hanging around, hoping the guy is ok, it actually warms my heart. Not that I want guys to get hurt.
I was right LB in HS and anytime I hit another player I always helped them up and I always got the same treatment backed when o was down. My coach got mad because I did I told him " if I don't show respect for the team we're playing then I don't have respect for the game itself". After I said that's to him it changed his outlook on the sport and proceeded to tell the rest of the team to keep respect in our minds and never disrespect the teams we have faced or going to face.
My coach wouldn’t play me on defense because I wasn’t willing to chop receivers at the knee when tackling. I had no interest in attempting to injure another player for a high school football game
Andrew Luck is by far the most polite man ever to play the game haha. i meant there are great guys like fitzgerald who play it with much respect for everybody. But Luck literally is like the new kid in school who wants to make as much friends as possible by being nice to everybody. I love the guy :D
LOL
Fab se And still gets bodied by the popular kids which is he's been hurt for like a year and a half
Fab se true, fitz is such a good guy on and off the field

When I played rugby, I got my ass, head, and soul rocked by one of the other players. After the game was over, the dude offered me a beer and treated me like brother. Nothing wrong with sportsmanship.
I'm late on this video, but I wanted to say I know exactly what you mean. My son played rugby in high school. I had never played, so I didn't know much about it. His coach always referred to it as a "gentlemen's sport", which surprised me a bit, considering the way they went at each other on the pitch. Then I saw that a common tradition was after a game full of beating each other senseless, both teams would often get together for hot dogs on the grill or otherwise just hanging out together for a few before leaving. It was something special.
When I was a player, my only concern was getting too competitive and never being a good sport. I remember after a good tackle I made, the qb I tackled said “good tackle” and after I got up I held my hand out to help him up and he and I shared a hug. I didn’t know him like at all but we beat them by like 40 points but it was such a good moment for me and hopefully for him.
"You did, in the head"

Luck has the respect of nearly every defensive player because he not only enjoys the physical aspect of the game, but according to several NFL defenders, he NEVER whines to the refs about late hits or hits to the head or anything like that. Almost every QB in the game constantly whines. Back in the 1960's, QB's were not the protected commodities they are today. They would run the ball like a running back, looking to hit people. Luck is old school. This is why you will see defensive linemen give him a hand when he's on the ground. Another thing.....when Luck screws up and throws a pick, he can hit. He doesn't run off the field. He takes responsibility for the mistake and tries to get the ball back. Ask Sharise Wright when Stanford played USC back in the day. Luck gave Wright one of the most vicious hits I have ever seen.
He knows what he's doing. That makes Luck a guy you want to "ease up on" and Brady, maybe Rivers and a few others you want to "pile drive"

Then he said "good." Then the play started and I pushed him about 5 yards back. He said "good block man" Then I said "thanks". Probably one of the best interactions I've had with another player so far. That was last and first year of football, I'm now 13 and in 8th grade with my second year of football.

All sports could learn a lot from rugby - hit hard, play fair and have a beer with your opposition (and the referee) after a game.
There's a reason why it isn't very popular in americaXD
No one is having anything with the refs the way they have been throwing games last few years
Played rugby for 10 years and yeah there's times when you're annoyed if they've hit you to stop you scoring or whatever, the point isn't every hit you say thankyou and you're nice the point is when you catch them later and the moments gone you respect them and respect the play they made and you get them back on the next play by hitting them with your skills

I'm a huge fan of AFL (Australian Football League) for over 50 years... I've played, umpired (ref) and coached the game at many different levels.
At the professional level it has the 4th highest average attendance of any domestic sports league in the world and we have less than 26 million population.
It's a fast, hard, uncompromising gladiator sport... The men and women who play it are supreme athletes.
I've seen massive hits, bumps, tackles, brawls and shocking injuries including death. It's not a game for the faint of heart. Our Grand Final ("Superbowl") will seat 100k people.
I've also seen incredible sportsmanship, mutual respect and fair conduct that move the fans even from opposing sides with great rivalries to tears.
When a great player retires he is lifted onto the shoulders of his teammates and carried from the ground to the roar of applause from a stadium full of appreciative and adoring fans.
When a great coach suddenly and unexpectedly passed away once... Every team in the league gathered in a circle before the start of their weekend games and put their arms around each others shoulders in a sign of solidarity, respect and mutual grieving... Friends and foes showing that NOBODY is bigger than the game itself.
Much love and respect to NFL players who remember what they're really out there for...
Entertainment can be violent.. but it doesn't need to be disrespectful.
There is one major etiquette in football that has always been there. You want to hit as hard as you can but never injure the other player. When that basic rule is broken that player gets singled out.
Should look at rugby. Total war during the game, total respect afterward, drinks together.
we get punished for arguing with the refs in rugby
Unwritten etiquette is big in rugby. Big hits; big handshakes; no big mouths. But I have to say NFL wouldn't be what it is without the bombastic behavior and showmanship which I enjoy.
Ended up at the bottom of a duck face-to-face with a guy on the other team... dude just calmly said “Hey, man. Wassup?”. The most nonchalant reaction in the middle of a rugby game haha
The US is all about rivalries and insulting each other, this wouldnt work in the US. I mean they make fun kf canadians for being nice, i really dont get these primitive guys,

If two boxers/mma fighter can beat the hell out of each other than hug at the end, then football players can help each other up after each play.
That’s the definition of RESPECT ✊.
The realest man is the one who can be physical and respectful
It's not the same. Having etiquette after every play in the NFL is the same as mma fighters hugging after every round, it just doesn't happen.
@@Jj-no4qn you make no sense
@@iamriplolz4268 what makes no sense?
Nothing wrong with being a nice guy in a violent game. It's the same as players on opposite teams holding hands, kneeling in prayer after the game.
3:49 sound like a teacher talking about bullying
As somebody who's played hockey my entire life I do not understand why these folks think it is difficult to have some form of camaraderie while playing against each other. It's a rivalry game then you can guarantee then I'm going to knuckle up with someone go, we're going to hug each other after the game. But probably the more surprising part is that at the end of the fight will tap each other on the shin pads and tell each other good fight.
I've asked others from different kinds of sports if they understand this and it seems like it's pretty well understood and shared amongst athletes outside of football. The Andrew Luck mentality seems to be the norm, but especially so with hockey.
I think a great example of this is in football you'll constantly see somebody celebrating if they hurt someone else or knock them out or anything like that. In hockey we don't celebrate that as we are all expected to play through and with injuries. If somebody gets laid out with an open Ice hit you don't see guys celebrating, you see guys genuinely hoping to see their opponent get up to continue competing. It's no surprise to any fan that all members of both teams will be tapping our sticks on the ice to congratulate anybody getting up off the ice, teammate or not. When you see a Big hit in the NFL they're all high-fiving each other over somebody's limp body.
