He'll be the QB coach for the Jets next year and most of this season also. That's how it seems he has been going into the season
I hope he outlasts Brady as a QB. Wouldn't that be something Brady retires at 45 but everyone forgets about McCown. McCown retires in 2025 as the oldest QB in the league. Then goes on to be a QB coach somewhere. His story is very similar to Doug Pederson, and we've seen the success he's had.

He’s a lot faster then most people think.
He's tied for most rushing tds a qb so far this year. He embarrassed a few defensive fronts that slept on his wheels.

Very respectable. Clearly playing because he loves the game, not a diva wanting a paycheck or glory or this or that. When he was out playing with the Browns and was getting emotional you could tell he thought it might be the end. Glad hes doing well this year.

He’s made some incredible throws, and the fact that he’s making the jets a solid team even after everyone thought they’d be the worst team is even better.

Look at all of the great people he's met and all of the different places he's seen, as only living there can show you, and all of different life's experiences he had in every different city. I wanna thank Josh McCown. He was my starting QB the previous 2 seasons and I went to the Fantasy playoffs in both. Didn't get past the 1st Round last season, but he help me get that far.

I was so angry as a Bears fan. We've got Cutler, a guy who never did anything in Chicago, who has finished out his contract. On the other hand we've got McCown, a guy who just threw 13 TD's and only 1 pick. What does the team decide to do? Cut McCown and sign Jay to a 7 year 100 million dollar contract! What a win for Chicago sports!

Hopefully we can have our truly first good franchise QB in Trubisky but we need to help him out with weapons and an o line first. Good story on Josh McCown. I remember his brother, Luke McCown, balled out briefly in Tampa Bay once upon a time.
Luke's also balled out briefly for the Browns and Jags, and was the backup QB (and holder) for the Saints for quite a few years
Oh yeah, Luke was even in a Verizon commercial when he was with the saints.
The commercial was about their backup generators btw which really says something about his career

Josh is a great athelete and a really good qb. Problem is there are only 32 opening for a starting qb so good and great just aren't good enough.

Josh is such a great guy I've heard so many great story's about him in Cleveland I listen to Cleveland sports radio and tons of different host talk nothing but good things about him & on Thomahawk Joe Thomas & Andrew Hawkins podcast they talk about him being a good locker room guy and how smart & talented he is & how helpful and fun to be around him not to mention all the things he did for local charitys

Cutler has incredible talent, its hard not to see how high his ceiling is and not chose him, hes prob the most disappointing QB
People are so in love with Cutler's arm and the throws he can make, that they pretty much forget about everything he is lacking as a QB and a leader after he throws a few passes.
The story of this man makes me look at him in a totally different light. A player like this is respectable and clearly has a great family too.
McCown is one of those guys who you gotta root for.. He's been a journeyman and last year with the Jets he ball'd out

I was pumped when we signed him in Cleveland. I have so much respect for that man and his career. His daughter was exactly right - it was hard to see him get beat up but seeing how tough he was made me proud

Chances are he will never see this, but Josh McCown, you are probably my favorite QB of all time, if not for the fact that I relate to you by having had 4 different college majors and 3 schools in 3 years. You may not have the ultra-inpressive stats or a franchise QB legacy like the Mannings or Tom Brady, but you have the grit, knowledge, and determination of a legend. I would be lying if I said I dont look up to you.
