  • The Runs These Fish Go On Are INSANE! We headed out of Port Canaveral with captain Bob to slow troll skirted baits for kingfish and it wasn't long before we found them! King mackerel or "kingfish" as many anglers call them are commonly caught trolling baits. Enjoy!

Great video guys. Is there a reason y’all leave the clickers on while reeling them in. Kind of annoying unless you can’t turn them off on those reels. All my old penns you could click them off after hook up. Just curious. Again great video.

Nothin special. 7ft medium action, make sure the rod you pick has a soft tip. Run light braid 20-30lb with 40 lb mono for the abrasion resistance. Increase leader and hook size for larger kings. Hope this helps man! Tight lines!!

What type of spinning rods do you guys use? I live in deerfield beach and my dad just bought a boat. I was thinking about trying to go fishing but i don’t know anything about gear. What do you recommend?

We use mostly penn reels paired with custom rods my buddy makes for us. For inshore I use a 4k penn conflict 2 with 30lb j braid on my 7'6" custom. This works well for throwing big swimbaits and pitching live bait around structure like docks and mangroves. Also, I use a 2500 with 10lb powerpro on a 7' med fast action falcon rod for artificials on the flats. For the jetty's and inlets I love my 8' Shimano Teramar paired with 5500 penn slammer.
If you want to get something that will get the job done but wont cost an arm and a leg...get a penn combo. I hope this helps.

Penn is good for conventional reels, my father and I use Shimano spinning reels. They pair nicely with Star rods.

10 miles out? I'm thinking about taking my 17' key west out there this weekend to try and bring some kingfish home for the wife/kid.

@@strikemissionfishin4412 Update, we did really really well. Free lining greenies seems to be the best way to catch just about everything out there.

Were you trolling? What are you using as bait? Going out this weekend for the first time kingfishing.

Yes were trolling. Sardines on stinger rigs and bottom ball about 50 ft. down. Good luck!
