I am a real world Airline pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the detailed simulations of airliners in MSFS and X Plane. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

I'm lukla Pilot( First Officer ) flying dornier 228 everyday in and out of Lukla. Great video ❤
Respect to you Sir. I’ve sat in the passenger cabin filming a landing. When you turn onto final and look out of the front window and see the postage stamp sized runway you think, “No Way, we’ll never get it down on that”. Very scary but exhilarating. I Remember a Sita Air D228 sitting there with a tarp covering its nose which was bent from a close shave with the wall at the runway end.
Thank you for commenting, what a fantastic achievement to be able to fly there in real life! I hope one day to visit as a passenger just to experience it.
Love this type of video style. Different than a normal strreams.
Glad to hear, thanks for watching!
Great stuff. I'm going to Everest base camp next year and will be landing and taking off at that airport this time next year. I can't wait.
Wow fantastic! Have a great time and thanks for watching!
BAE 146-100: "I paid for the whole runway so I will use the whole runway" 😊
@320 Sim Pilot That was absolutely edge of my seat viewing watching you get the 146 in there! I thought getting the 146 into Courcheval was a challenge now I have to try this for myself 😂
Just got myself SWS 850 and fly her from Tribhuvan to Lukla the other day. Perfect timing for this video. Definitely gonna buy this scenery, looks so good. Also that rolling drone shot during the approach is a cinema!
Well that was a ton of fun. Very nice control with the 146! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
This was a really well put together video amazing work as always!!!
Thank you so much Kelpli, really very kind!
Great video! Needed the Twotter in there for full Lukla effect! 😉 Love the Caribou though - reminds me of all of those group flights around NZ during lockdown!
Thanks Ed! Indeed I thought about it but the Caribou just called me!
OMG I lost it when you brought out the 146. Flight sim silliness ensued.
🤣🤣🤣

Our copilot!!! 🐱
Well spotted!
Awesome! I managed to get the fbw a320 and the pmdg 737 in here, takeoff and landing ( just have to set fuel and pax to minimum)
1:00 Zombies confirmed.
😅 Couldn't agree more! 😅
2:50 I might just have to get this airport.
Nice touch from Aerosoft with the Twotter in the scenery, reminding each and every of their customers how they were treated when they took their money and abandonned the project. This is the single example of doing that that I can think of, coming from a company that didn't go bankrupt. I will never purchase anything that is related to Aerosoft again.
Wow, I'm heading to Everest Base Camp on Wednesday so this video is very apt! 😁
Cannot wait to experience this airport, looks very exhilerating! 😬
I wonder what the next volumes in this scenery will include! Hopefully some more detailed mesh for everest itself and the surrounding areas!
That was an exciting landing.
It was indeed!
I mean, I know you're a real pilot and all, but that BAE 146 landing was just bombastic. Good show sir!
Thank you! It was good fun!
Looks really good! Excellent video - I love doing these kind of short field, semi-dangerous approaches. Can’t wait to try this in the 146 - shortest runways I’ve done so far in the -300 is about 700ft.
Legend says that the lady in the black is still whispering to this day!
Just a bit of hedge trimming with the 146! 😂 Great video too!
Great video! Thank you very much
Thanks!
That is very kind, thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
Amazing video of an amazing airport. I will get it. *I did enjoy that last landing!* 👍👍On the default airport, which is good in FS, I managed several aircraft down there, with Assistance Settings as hard, and I managed with the Rafale.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
great video. thanks!
Perfect airport to test out my STOL planes!
Excellent video! had me very worried at times! lolz.
I liked the last landing 😍👌
I think you've had a very easy take off in the BAe with an entire foot of the runway still remaining.
Maybe we could have fit a passenger on!
This looks so good, and detailed, I kinda want this to be some kind of video game with adventure characteristic. Like, "Murder at Lukla". Some Monkey Island / Flight Sim / Eco sim hybrid :)
Great Vid ! Any more podcasts coming ?
A new 320 SP video 🎉 What a great day 😊
Beautiful looking scenery. Now if only we had the perfect Aerosoft plane to fly into Lukla...
tbm landing insanely good
i hadnt seen the 146 one yet 🤯
Thank you! It is a lovey aeroplane to fly and indeed land!
I made a video on landing the 146 at Lukla ages ago. albeit with the default scenery :)
Excellent! It looks like you had a very similar result!
@@320SimPilot Yes, after quite a few tries :)
More than 15 years in flight simulation and haven’t yet been able to land at this airport… Toncontin, Kai Tak, Paro: done. But Lukla…
I landed a 787 there. It took me dozens of tries, though. I was taking off from the same airport, doing a turn in the middle of the valley and then coming back to land. I had to fly as slow as possible and use every inch of runway. The hardest was not crashing out on the touchdown. Quite a fun experience.
Nutter @@ederss7😂
Yeah it can be difficult with the 747, but if you take something smaller, like a Cessna Caravan or Twin Otter, it's doable :)
I find Toncontin much harder... Specially when there are real videos of 757s landing there
@@basilturk8803 My first time at Toncontin was with the 738 and it took me 3 times to get the bird landed. I've found that if you fly often to that airport, you could relatively master such approach and perform landings below -300 ft/min.
impressive pilotage
Thank you! The magic of editing no doubt!
You should've landed the A320 and 787 there!
Quick question: do Airbus pilots usually land with Autothrottle engaged or disengaged? Are the throttles left in the CLB detent?
Engaged (in the CLB detend) until the flare. Check out my landing tutorials in the A320 for more info!
Is there some way we can still buy the Twin Otter for FS2020?
Unfortunately, with live weather on Lukla is covered in snow all year round. Which isnt accurate. The Inaccurate snow cover bug has been an issue for awhile now. Bummer cause it’s beautiful scenery.
Does the 146 operate from Lukla?
Visionjet could probably do it as well.
Gret video, I particularly liked how one woman was sniffing the armpit of her friend!
Another good one. I was looking for the link to the video you mentioned at 17:59. 😉
Great spot, thank you! Added now to the description.
Its a nice place for a graveyard. Cheers
