Meeting Rails Didn’t Line Up In This Crooked Window. How I Fixed It

- At the February 2023 Total Window Makeover Course in San Antonio. The house is way out of level, throwing the window alignment off. Used scribe tools, measuring tapes and circular saws to fix it.
Does anyone have any advice on a more lightweight repair when the meeting rails are only off 1/8 or 1/4 inch? The culprit is also a shifting house; I have other windows that are more severe like in the video. So, I'm looking at removing triangles of material 1/8 high or less.
I'm a little out of my depth, but I was thinking of scribing a line as Steve suggests here, and then using a hand plane to remove that bit of material.
Steve, wondering if you have found a solution for small gaps at the meeting rail right where the parting bead sits. I’ve gotten my parting beads perfectly aligned, the parting bead is in, the lock is really tightening things up nicely, but there is the smallest little point where a gap still exists on the upper sash in front of the parting bead. If you are looking down into it, you can see outside. Seems to be where the inner part of the upper meeting rail doesn’t extend all the way to the meeting rail, so that is where the gap exists between that notch and the notch on the lower sash…
I’m neck deep in repairing some termite damage but when I’m done will try this; I still have a few original windows that could use tuning.

Do you have any suggestions on repairing a top sash, bottom rail (where the lock is) that is bowed? Thank you for all your videos. It's been a huge help on my journey w/ bringing my windows back to life!
