    It has been a very long time since I have had to do my own car repair. However my husband passed away 6 weeks ago very unexpectedly and my car was in need of repair at the time.. so I bought my intake manifold gasket set and I found your video and I fixed my car and I just want to say thank you so much for the videos that you post. There's no way I could have ever afforded to pay someone to fix my car especially not right now. Your video was a lifesaver

      It's not that difficult to do PCV valve and intake gasket on 2.0L Ford Duratech, that it might look on a video. Let me know if you have any questions. God Blesses You.

    The worst thing about the location of the PCV on this engine is that it can need to be replaced between every 20,000 - 50,000 miles, despite Ford's recommended 100,000 mile interval. I'm about to do mine because all the signs are there. Bank 1 lean code, rough idle both hot and cold, leaking valve cover gasket, and the car only has 65,000 miles on it.
    I'm seriously considering gutting the old PCV valve so I can place the new one in a remote location out from under the manifold.

    Hey man I just got done doing this today I’m waiting on the hose and valve. I have oil residue inside the intake where the pcv hose attaches, what does that mean ? Does it just mean the pcv valve failed??

    • @PistonShack
      @PistonShack  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Parker. Most likely PCV valve partially stuck (clogged) closed or tube got clogged up. Little bit an oil is fine. Did you drain any from intake manifold?

  • @jn1mrgn
    @jn1mrgn Před 2 lety +2

    Granted I haven't done this job which is why I'm watching the video, but putting the intake gaskets on after putting the manifold in there seems insane. Don't they easily fit into the plastic grooves on the intake manifold? I replaced gaskets on the valve cover and it looked like the same thing. If you are worried about scratching them with the fuel rail, the fuel rail is really easy to remove. Am I missing something?

  • @skippyi6969

    Why not remove the fuel rail ? It appears that you may have way more access with it out of your way. Its just 2 bolts, the 4 injector wiring harness's, fuel input line and the rail and injectors pops right off. Would that not be worth the time to do it for this job ?
