This shows exactly how arrogant and complacent Zwift have been over the last five years or so. I wish these guys every success - and Zwifters will also benefit if there is a viable alternative pushing Zwift to improve their offering.
I‘m all for competition and choice. However, Zwift not improving on graphics and therefore having been complacent, is a little too one sided for me. They have improved significantly in terms of usability, functions, and reliability. Especially the latest few updates with teleportation, caffe stops, all routes being available always, added pace partners etc. added a lot to the experience for me.
Also crashes and drop outs have become really rare.
Just saying, that there is more to this than graphics.
@@LarsRR Agree wholeheartedly, I've just come off trying Rolla and it lacks all the mapping, interaction and fun of Zwift... It may well improve with time, I hope so...
@@MartinGallacher Sounds like everyone needs to choose to suit their own preferences. I found that the "interaction" was the opposite of fun, just a severe irritation. Without decent graphics (and being very dingily lit) the overall experience was tedious.
BTW I did stick it out for over 30 rides to see if I was being too quick to judge.
Zwift not building a “Belgium” world is the biggest bummer for me… I expected it for the worlds, but unfortunately nothing…
Arrogant and complacent? Really? I’m not a die hard Zwifter and would choose Trainer Road over Zwift, but the community and user experience that zwift offers isn’t what I would really call arrogant and complacent. They’ve done quite a bit to expand their platform and keep it user friendly.
Not having to buy a gaming PC just to ride my bike indoors and get decent graphics is intriguing for sure.
I run Zwift on my 2018 non-gaming laptop attached to a screen and it works very well. No expensive gaming stuff needed 🤷♀️
@@rainbowlable Yes, but you're getting low resolution graphics.
@@buster.keaton I get it. Too many large screens out there 😅 On my old 24inch monitor it looks okay.
I prefer low resolution than cloud streaming tbh. The fact that it only runs in cloud on an ipad is kind of a deal breaker for me.
Good to see a runners alternative to Zwift that seems to have some real credibility. Worth a look at least.
What makes this interesting for me is that it supports AndroidTV. I have a few Nvidia Shield devices hooked up to TVs, they have plenty of graphical power and would be ideal, but none of the platforms currently support running their app on them. I sideloaded Zwift at one point, but it's a massive hassle and breaks way too often. The fact that rolla does support AndroidTV is a big plus for me, way less steps to get riding. If it has some decent structured workouts too, I can see myself being very happy here.
Yup, totally. Streamling of games is undoubtedly the future.
I've stuck with zwift through thick and thin, but i'm excited to try this and move on
That dude on the virtual bike needs a bikefit
🤣
Could argue that's more realistic when you look at the general publics bike fits haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just had a go and really like it. I used my iPad and it has the feel of a top end game. It was a bit ‘bumpy’ and grainy in places and figured it was streamed but it worked well. It has the feel of being somewhere too, lots of depth in the field of view unlike say RGT which is a bit sparse on the assets front. I always look for a decent avatar, and like this one although the out of the saddle animation needs work. Seems promising 👍🏼
Thank you, we are really working hard.
There will be new streaming version soon which will improve experience.
@ Have you got plans to introduce racing? If you can do that I'll definitely switch over from Zwift
Of course, we are testing events internally. But first we need to make platform stable, after that we will start marketing campaign and release events.
Having seen your video I tried out Rolla. I am not into f 0:04 eatures like group rides or events, but just want a good simulator for outdoor rides indoors, and Rolla sounded like it matched my needs. I used my iPhone and an iPad for the display, and found that the graphics were a bit laggy and there were some unusual sudden changes in effort required. The garage did not work for customising my avatar. A weakness for me is that the display could do with an indication of the upcoming gradients (like on Wahoo RGT) and the ability to upload a ride to Strava from the history. I did not have the auto upload switched on, so my ride is stuck in Rolla rather than on Strava where I want it. My trainer is a WattBike Atom, which connected fine, but I would like an indication of the gear I am in on the display. I also noted an inconsistency in the units displayed - I selected imperial, which is what was displayed on Rolla Active on my iPhone, but the Rolla World display on my iPad was showing the same figures labelled with metric units. Ergo mode does not appear to be available either. I contacted Rolla to report my issues but am still waiting a response.
Played around with MyWhoosh- and it was generally pretty good. Eventually fell in love with Rouvy, as I love riding and exploring real scenery in real places. Don't care much about the whole "group" zwift stuff. May the best trainer app win!
Had another go today after the app update and works better - the resistance was a setting, was set to 50% and I always have it at 100%- the only flaw so far, the app was set to imperial but the screen showed metric - the phone app, on the status screen it would be useful to add and remove tabs but it's getting there keep up the good work
Tried it last night. Tacx Neo Bike connected easy enough. Used iPad Pro as a display. Graphics were ok, obviously much better at Eurobike to show it off at its best. I set up the iPhone app to use imperial units, yet the iPad showed imperial numbers with metric units. Rode the Lake Hotel and the display locked up about half way thru. Looks promising, but needs polish.
Good to have some credible competition for Zwift.
competition is always a good thing...group dynamics are an entirely different conversation than this solo ride version...I am interested enough to follow the progress, but will not be ready to jump ship based on graphics...for me, the social piece of zwift, the racing, the group rides, the growing worlds and the pack dynamics is what keeps me coming back...graphics would be a bonus
I tired yesterday, but it didn't appear to have a controllerable trainer option. Only an option to link a power source.
So I went back to Rouvy, but excited to see how Rolla develops.
I had the same experience yesterday. I thought maybe I’m kissing something but I checked all the options. I couldn’t find a way to have a workout with controlled resistance. Until this is figured out it’s not a contender, but good start.
Thanks Ray.
New developers are putting effort in the cycling world which is pretty crowded with competitors and ignoring that the SKIERG is still missing an online virtual platform…
If it gains traction it will crush Zwift or force them to upgrade there graphics from the current 1990’s shite they offer
Would love to use this for the C2 Row Erg, any plans to develop the app for that activity?
I love Zwift's graphic style. I don't want realistic graphics because then I can just ride outdoors. Zwift offers great distractions and that's the point for me.
Absolutely. Zift graphics don´t need to be photo-realistic but I expect much higher level of details and graphical effects in line with 2023.
@@rainbowlable move to Canada for 12 months and we can then discuss
I will say this looks a interesting App. I plan on trying it out. I am a treadmill runner so have been enjoying Zwift for running. But this app's run experience looks interesting. But I will say I remember Rouvy did running for a bit but dropped it. But I like trying new aps. So will check it out
They got that sick garage but no bike stand
Fun fact: I don’t own a bike stand. I use a trainer. 🤣
This is great news in light of Zwift's new gouge by country model.
I'm definitely gonna give that a go
I need the social part of it. Without I get bored very fast.
Personally, I find the random conversations people have in the comments on Zwift annoying. But that's me.
When we do racing as a team, we talk to each other via a Discord channel. All people I've never met, but we ride for the same club, riding with a common purpose.
Same. Zwift isn't going anywhere for me because of the social aspect, not a single other "competitor" in the space is even trying in this realm, they're all trying to either look pretty[er] (which personally I like the cartoony way Zwift looks). Or are more of a direct competitor to something like RGT, than Zwift itself.
I love my group rides.
If I want to ride a bike and have pretty scenery I can go outside; where I'm more likely to meet a car, than another person.
I tried it, no luck. Got the app downloaded and tried it on both AppleTV and iPad. Got somewhere with the iPhone App, but couldn't get it to start on either AppleTV or iPad once I had started my ride on the Rolla One app.
Can you please do a review of 3rd party app/platform integration? As you rightfully pointed out, the target market is not the social Zwifters. With this strategy I feel that integration with platforms such as Training Peaks is pretty critical.
Also love your work DCR!
lol just posted the same thing
Thank you
Love to see them using the Technogym Skillbike!!!
Looks good but I prefer to use Kinomap, the platform allows you to upload your own video + gps. I can then ride local routes that mean something to me, when the weather is poor.
How well does that work? Ofcourse you can record your own route, but what about traffic, stops and other ‘interruptions’? Do you need to delete them from the footage?
@@Stevenafoe - some people do edit out stops in the video & gps, others don't. Even if there are stops you can just keep pedalling and the video will catch up. If you mainly ride in the countryside there's not many things that you have to stop for
Looks good.
It looks amazing. Startup time is little slow. And sometimes you get streaming artifacts, but hopefully they will figure it out. It would be great if they released their game on Xbox Series S, not sure about Microsoft fees though and Xbox Live requirements.
Sweet!
Cloud based GPU is very expensive to run, I have my doubts that this is viable long term, the GPU costs have not really come down, they would need a lot of subscribers to make this work, graphics look very cool and I will certainly give it a go, thanks for the review
Interestingly, they’re actually splitting it between Azure and their own on-prem servers. But I agree, it’s challenging.
@@DcrainmakerI believe the hosted and streamed delivery model was RGT's plan initially. I heard a rumour a few years ago that connectivity and consumer awareness of game streaming (and possibly other tech limitations) wasn't where it needed to be 4 to 5 years ago to make it a solid user experience. Probably also money issues to get it up and running given their (lack of) budget.
It does explain their initial two app implementation. A (dumb) 'screen' app on the main hardware platform, eg, PC, and a fully featured controller app on the phone. They moved to the current more conventional implementation after they gave up on the streaming idea and had too many complaints about connectivity and set up issues with the original two app dependency creating multiple potential points of failure.
I'm in!
As someone who just got a kickr core, this is most definitely intriguing, as I’m not really invested in any platform at the moment.
As an exclusively indoor riding zwift user the extra metrics appeal to me for sure.
(My first - "As a")
After seeing your video, I tried this out on my WattBike Atom. It connected fine, using my Rolla Active on my iPhone and Rolla World on my iPad for the display. However the graphics were a little glitchy and the ride had some unexpected sudden changes in effort. I think the display needs an indication of the upcoming gradient (like on Wahoo RGT) and something to make it clear you have completed the route. I selected imperial units, but whilst the control and display were showing the same figures, the control reported then as imperial whereas the display was metric. An option to upload your ride from the history is needed too. I did not have the auto upload turned on (the status of selector buttons needs improving) so my ride is stuck in Rolla rather than up on Strava where I want it. There does not appear to be an ergo mode option either. Am still waiting for a response from Rolla to my issues (I raised a support ticket). I will persist with Rolla as it looks like a good fit to my needs.
IndieVelo are who you need to look at.
With Indievelo opening its beta a few weeks ago, the number of Zwift competitors is getting kind of silly. I'm losing track of them all.
Anyway, how much is the streaming version impacted by the speed of your internet connection (since that would be delivering the graphics)?
Looks interesting
Did they mention any plans to support ANT connectivity in windows or mobile? The website is low on details.
Zwift at some point has to consider the Unreal Engine for graphics and character movements.
Downloaded it and gave it a whirl. Not too bad for an initial cut. I will say that the graphics are pretty good. Only a few stall outs on a 5k ride. I got the power meter set up pretty easily. The cadence didn’ everr connect. I use a stages sb20 and haven’t had issues with other apps. Also couldn’t get it paired for HR to my Fenix 6X. I did set up garmin and strava sync, but the activity never did sync. It looks like you need to have both a phone and a display device. I used my ipad for the display, and my iPhone for the control. Its not too bad. Felt a little clunky but perhaps I just need to get used to it. I’ll leave it installed and maybe give it another go on a non-sunny day. Nice to get more competition out there, raises the bar with all the apps out there.
Is the frame rate as bad as seen in the video or actually enjoyable?
@@Fantaztig it’s a bit better although I do notice shuttering once and a while when I assume it’s buffering or something.
I still use Tacx's TTS4 software. The graphics are very good, much better than Zwift. I tried Zwift years ago but when they did the first price hike I dropped it and have been on the Tacx software ever since. I never hear anything about TTS4 anymore I would imagine because people's PCs have died and they can't find the updates but I have the updates on a CD and my PC is a powerful Windows 10 machine. The software runs perfectly. Best of all I never have to pay to play.
I was excited to try this as my Zwift subscription has lapsed and an injury was preventing me running. Slightly odd to have to download 2 different apps but setup went ok. Unfortunately, despite everything connecting, I couldn’t get it to work with my Zwift hub. Anyone been able to use this with the Zwift hub?
Unfortunately, there is problem with Zwift Hub, cant be used for now.
I enjoy the structured workouts on zwift if Rolla could offer the same and they were similar in price i would make the switch
That is pretty, but RGT already has physics and drafting, and looks pretty close to this, also on all kinds of platforms. Nice to see competitors coming in to push the established players.
RGT looks nothing like this. Get your eyes checked.
😂 good joke, rgt graphics and rider animation is one of the reasons I DON'T use that app.
@@titaniumben9923 IMO, RGT is FAR superior to Zwift so there is that.
ROUVY kicks butt on Rolla and Zwift. Real video with excellent graphic riders, NOT “better” background fake.
For me the social aspect only comes when I post my Zwift ride on Strava.
My first thought on the graphics was 'Microsoft Flight Sim for leisure cyclists'. Appreciate these are currently virtual worlds but it's conceivable in the not too distant future that people could cycle/run through real life locations in the same way you can now fly through them.
Doesn't "Rouvy" have this already?
@@luciouspontorro3741Rouvy uses real life video that needs to be edited to align video and GPS time stamps and 'smooth' the GPS trace before uploading to Rouvy. Any Rouvy user can do this and there are professionally created video routes, but it can be time consuming to create a really good rideable route.
RGT also enables you to create your own Magic Roads based in a real life GPS trace. The difference being that it then renders a generic (and currently very boring) 3D world for your to ride through. It does mean that you can recreate any road you want and ride it whenever you want. Solo or with other RGT users.
Competition is GOOD!
How's the ride physics like, say compared to RGT?
Does this platform offer good physics when controlling grades, wind, textured surfaces and so on? I have a NEO and would like to continue with the road feel if possible.
Still no, its on roadmap but not before end of year.
Ugh.. when is Mac coming? Can't wait!
I wish one day I will be as stable as those indoor platform's avatar on the bike 😂
Zwift has a huge advantage in that they were first...but "runescape" level of graphics that requires a second mortgage cost PC will open the doors for others eventually to surpass them.
I personally couldn't case less about the 'social' aspect of Zwift, other than group riding, but that is because of pack dynamics, the way the draft works, teamwork, tactics, etc., not because I need to be 'pals' with everyone. I just want it to be as realistic as possible. Maybe Rolla can be a serious alternative to Zwift?
Any info on the PCs they're running at the show (i.e. what CPU and GPU are they using)?
Unsure on CPU, but GPU was 3060’s.
Does Rolla offer structured workouts? Can I import structured workout from external provider like TrainingPeaks, Garmin etc.?
Yup, currently built-in ones (I briefly show it midway through, and then again toward end). And they said TP ones are on the short term radar.
What do I need to use my road bike with Rolla?
I really want my virtual runner to be on the left side of the road!
Is greater realism really the advantage another platform needs to compete with (or overtake) Zwift? So many new platforms seem to think that is answer, but most riders have the option to ride outdoors/IRL as an alternative. Zwift has so much momentum and infrastructure in place (ZwiftPower, the Companion app, ZwiftInsider, ZwiftRacing, etc.). All the other potential virtual cycling apps seem to have difficulty building the social aspect and enough daily users to gain traction. I really don't think there is a "Zwift-killer" out there as long as Zwift continues a moderate pace of improvements and doesn't somehow blow up through mismanagement.
If they have a bike and Avatar livery editor, where you can upload your own decals as SVG files, see ya Zwift.
Will it work with my new zwift controllers?
More than a little difficult to setup, uses some permission like “drawover” without telling you what to do. Getting it to connect needed flipping wifi nw and dropping the vpn. In game it looks good but the the actual cyclist model looks a little odd, and I’m not sure the resistance is right, I was spinning on on the flat in max gear. For free though, especially when zwift is turned off for the summer its worth a go.
I can never get it out of my head that these online bike rides are very power hungry, must use a bucket of energy and me well I would rather be outside in the weather. I live in the north Pennines of England and it rains a lot. But it’s far better than watching a set of cartoons race past me.
Its a shame they went down the same failed route as RGT originally had where you have to dance around between 2 devices to run the damn thing
The 2 device thing is the price of designing specificallyfor streaming. It's why RGT did it initially, but they never got their streaming idea off the ground. RGT have since changed to a more conventional main app and companion app implementation to reduced connectivity/setup issues as 2 devices create multiple potential points of failure. So it will be interesting to see what Rolla do in the future.
Graphics do not a platform make of course. The pop-up in Rolla is pretty distacting. That said, it looks pretty nice and if they can overcome the 'network effect' of Zwift they could succeed. I tried Rouvy and just did not find it very exciting. Zwift just seems to have a nice mix of things that make it engaging so it's gonna be hard for someone to challenge them but good luck to them anyways.
Which pop-up?
I think, he means the texture pop in in the distance
No ANT+ ?
Interestingly enough, nope. Their reasoning is virtually every trainer out there supports Bluetooth, either via FTMS, or via older proprietary BT methods they also support. Hard to fault that at moment.
I'd be interested if they add at least couple of hundreds real life rides/climbs (that's why I don't use Zwift). Also I hope that you can get rid of all the Zwift annoyances related to "socializing". I don't want to see anyone on the road.
Agree on all points!
If you want to ride alone in Zwift you can go offline after you log in and start your ride. Just disconnect from your internet connection. Then go back online before you save and exit. Because the game runs on your local machine you only need to be online for those two brief interactions with the Zwift game servers.
Or create a meetup with the meetup only view option every time you ride. You do need to invite another rider to create a meetup, but tell a friend what your doing so they know not to join.
Doesn't solve the lack of realistic roads, but there's Rouvy Fulgaz and a few others for that. Even RGT if you want to make your own roads using the Magic Roads function or use someone elses magic road as there are many hundreds (vary quality) available after years of people building them.
@@jasonhurst2491 I use Tacx for that. They have hundreds of real life movies and it's just great to climb the same roads they do in grand tours. They just added Puy de Dome.
omg this looks stunning, if training is good I might ditch Zwift
So far my real world testing on this has been disappointing. I am running Windows, but not with enough horsepower to have the game run locally without being really choppy. I have tried streaming mode. However, I gave up after waiting over 6 minutes for it to connect to the server. The Rolla One app shows metrics to prove it is recording the ride, but I get the spinning wheel and "Connecting to server.... northcentralus87120" on the display. The Rolla World program also only loads correctly ~50% of the time on my PC. The rest of the time I get a blank screen. I will have to try another machine to see if it is the old laptop or the game itself.
I ran away from Zwift, 5 years ago. Too much people, too many cheaters, unrealistic speed and shitty physics' engine.
And in fact, when riding on my trainer, I prefer to see and feel “real” roads instead of 3D virtual worlds. I moved from one platform to the other, over the years. Last Winter, I chose Rouvy, and in the end, my training sessions are more realistic. I get satisfaction by finishing famous roads, as well as improving my times on them, as that's what comes the closest from what I may, one day, be able to do in real life.
I have also found myself using rouvy more and more. I also like the use of real world rides. I was on FulGaz however it kept crashing mid ride. I feel Zwift though does workouts better than both of these platforms. I create the workouts on training peaks and it functions extremely well on Zwift. It's an area I believe rouvy and fulgaz could improve on.
I would also like to see both of these platforms add the ability to run the routes like zwift does
I second Rouvy, I ran from Zwift too far too many playstation like effects
I downloaded Rolla yesterday to my PC laptop. When I launch it, I get the start loading screen then nothing. My PC screen goes back to my desktop.
Same, pity it doesn't work. No error message. Nothing. No help for explanations on resolving this on web site.
kudos for the more realistic running as well
but in light of that, wouldn't a more realistic cycling be better as well ?
I don't know about everybody, but I can't imagine there are many who can stick to a line and hardly sway from it on real roads :)
I downloaded and tried it, but hit problems. The PC app culd connect to the trainer than the phone app was able to get power from the PC app. There was no option to select the PC for display and so I could not even start. I tried re-installing and then it asked me to log on again. It would not accept my password and would not send me a link to renew the password. I tried to sign up again and it said I was already registered. All in all, I wasted two hours without getting a minute's riding.
I couldn't find the display. Tried on my laptop, my android TV and apple tv. All on the same network. Sad
Ive always said to Zwift in the forums, online gaming like stadia is the way to go. I dint want a gaming PC for my turbo trainer
Gave it a go, looks good but the garage wouldn't load properly, connecting to my trainer was really hit and miss and when it did connect, there was no resistance when going uphill
That's sick. Called zwift over summer won't be going back by the looks
I’ll use rolla. I have a crazy good computer for machine learning, might as well use it’s gpu for graphics occasionally
Graphics at a trade show don’t always translate to the garage pain cave
Good for the consumer with competition within this space. However, for me graphics is far from the most important thing when it comes to this software. Yes, it’s nice to have good graphics and Zwift probably needs to upgrade this sooner rather than later but social aspects, large maps, competitions etc is far more important in my opinion. Also, while the graphics shown do look great things like render distance is terrible. In the video you are trees and terrain pop up constantly. Also, there are problems with streaming games to other platforms, mostly delay which makes any competitions difficult.
I always wonder why other "influencers" don't talk about any zwift competitors.
Because up until recently Zwift blew a ton of money on marketing instead of software development.
Is there a way to "play" on these apps offline (without internet connection)?
Some apps, yes (e.g. FulGaz), but the ones with social elements tend to require internet.
On iphone the app isn’t called “rolla active” (as they say on their website), but “rolla one”. Just in case you can’t find it.
Thnx, fixed.
Would love to see Rolla's graphics merge with Zwift platform....
No talk about the serious Zwift competitor IndieVelo?
They weren’t at the show.
I tried this for the first time yesterday and it was not a good experience. Graphics are great but 3 main issues I had.
1. Strava integration didn't work.
2. Smart trainer integration not accurate. Anything under 2% I was spinning in the 52x11. So I just to try the mountain pass route. Even at 6.6% I was spinning at 90 rpm 200 watts halfway up the block on the big ring.
3. The app just crashes repeatedly between 6-8 minutes, like clockwork each time. This happened 7 times in a row.
Sorry to hear that, pls understand that this is early beta, we are collecting feedback and we will work hard to deliver great product.
Just tried it. Its jumping about and dropping frames. Popping textures. 3 views including the main one that has an awkward bum shuffle riding technique. Hassle having to use phone with it. No ride with friends or races. Graphically Virtupro is prob the best bet out there for solo AI races and group rides although far from perfect. IndieVelo looks very promising.
Looks cool, but Rouvy is my preference. Zwift is a bit too GameBoy for me. I prefer the realistic scenery of actual video footage as opposed to computer generated "worlds". I can totally understand the social nature of Zwift though.
I don't see any code for the $40 off for TPC. Where is it?
DCRAIN40 - cheers!
Google TV?! I'm onboard!
they need to hire me to ride different routes and record them on my go pro, then they can upload them, that would be realistic.
Never understood the Zwift social side. The worst part for me, apart from the graphics, is the lack of a button to turn off all other riders.
Create your own Meetup with one invitee (they don’t have to accept the invite). Meetups have an option to exclude people outside the meetup i.e. turning off all other riders. Great to ride worlds outside the calendar.
The social side is more group rides etc
If you want to ride solo on Zwift there is the meetup option, which has been mentioned, but you can just ride offline. Because Zwift runs on your local machine (PC/Mac/idevice, etc) you only need to be online when you log in and start your ride and again before you save and exit. As long as the Zwift server know when you start and when you finish you can ride alone for as long as you like in the world you've chosen.
@@jasonhurst2491 Offline is a different option.
For me Zwift graphics/visuals are a strength and not a weakness, the cartoon environment makes it it's own thing, by not trying to emulate outdoors you'll get a more cohesive experience. Other platforms went for the life-like experience and that's ok but you get the uncanny valley feeling most of the time and it never feels open worldly. And the other strength of zwift is racing. Really the main issue with zwift is pricing
Well they should go all in on the cartoonish look then. For example, the avatars look terribly dated, not just the graphics, but their physics as well.
@@aslam7952 I think it's just the aesthetic they're going for and that's ok for me. This is just an eSports thing, so people not familiar with the design philosophy may not like it or appreciate it. The issue with zwift is pricing, make it 10usd and competition will disapear
if they are able to provide an open API that integrates with more apps than zwift and for my own programming, they get my money
Yup, that seems their goal. Already an impressive list of fitness data apps going into it. They say that’s a big thing they want to continue to lean into.
@@Dcrainmaker I'm also interested in data going out. The workouts I recorded should be freely available via API
Would be smart if companies like this started to do xbox/playstation integration. They have more than enough computing power.
Rolla is coming on Xbox, PlayStation wont approve it.
Is this an existing graphics engine like unreal?
I wonder how long it will be before Microsoft or Apple or EA or Peloton come along and buy a few of these apps (or their engineers & designers), cherry-picking the best functionality from each, and creating a true game-changer. I’ve used Zwift, but for my style I prefer Rouvy, but I don’t think there is an exercise app out there that isn’t vulnerable to being dramatically disrupted by a better product.
Sadly I don't think anything can come close to Zwift, at least not without the advertising Zwift does.
I actually like Zwift's art style and graphics compared to these other "realistic" apps. There is also the gamified aspect that pushes people towards Zwift.
Is it compatible with the zwift hub?
It should be via FTMs, though, I heard a report from one person they were having troubles. Not sure if that was a one-off, or a bug.
Unable to get the Rolla to connect to anything not functioning with apple products
