    Hi Paddy, thank you for breaking the stereotype of the Philippines being Third world. A lot of foreigners think our country has only huts and coconut trees and 100% full of poverty. It’s because international and local media only like to highlight the poorest sides of our country.
    Keep doing what you are doing and you’ll end being one of the famous foreign vloggers in our Country. Filipinos love to watch foreigners vlogging in our country. Cheers!

      @@NicandPaddyVlog There's a lot of "bubbles" like this in Manila which are basically like Business Districts or Townships like Makati and BGC. To name a few there's also Ortigas, Eastwood, Araneta City, Circulo Verde, Rockwell, Malate, Binondo, Scout Area and New Manila in Quezon City and there's also Bay Area or Aseanna where most Casinos are. Triangle Park or Quezon City Business Park would be a massive business district once completed and all areas are connected. It'll cover the areas of SM North EDSA, Vertis North, Veterans Memorial, Eton Centris or covering the whole stretch of EDSA from East Ave to North Ave and until QC Memorial Circle. It'll be the Manila's center of commercial developments in the coming years per World Bank as 4 railway lines would have stations here including the grand common station and would have direct access to NAIA via the Subway line and the under construction New Manila International Airport in Bulacan through MRT-7 Phase 3.

Maybe 2-3 hours away from metro manila but the city is not already finish. 5-10 years from now clark pampanga is the second bgc of the philippines. If im not mistaken it is much bigger than bgc.

      Yea, I think there wasn’t much in BGC just 10 years ago. It’s really exploded. It’s a city but everything is walking distance and has the small town feel of friendliness and always bumping into friends and going to lunch, coffee, or drink. It’s a really unique city. I’m not sure when the American cemetery was built. I believe there’s no one buried there. It’s more of a memorial.

    BGC has an underground tunnel that serves as a catch basin for the flood. It is said to be so big that it can contain a water level of 50 olympic size pool (correct me if I'm wrong). The underground cabling was also already there even before the development by the private sector; that's why it wasn't hard for the developer to put all ugly cables underground, unlike any other newly-built business districts in the country.

My sister has a condo in Makati and has always stayed there during our visits twice in my entire life. I was born in the Philippines but grew up in California and have lived here since I was eleven years old! My husband is already retired, and I'm also retiring, so we're planning a trip there and hopefully soon and will check out that area and perhaps invest in a condo there! Btw, I believe my beautiful birth country is not a “Third World” country anymore but a “Developing country,” and perhaps someday soon it'll be up there with the second world and so on❗Thanks - take care, stay safe, and may God bless us all❣️🙏

So we can achieve a real economic growth. But since the pandemic hits and now the war in ukraine and in somepart of the world will also affect the slow growth of this island nation. But filipinos are optimistic and resilient . We are hardly hit by big typhoons and earthquakes. But slowly we rebuild and stand up again whatever it takes. It is both an issue and not, depends on where and also on the season. I’ve been bitten a thousand times but never had dengue nor malaria BUT that doesn’t mean it will apply to all esp if u r not used to mosquito bites. There are parts of the city where it won’t be common but in some parts it is esp if they have no running water and tend to store them in containers. Just always get something called Off lotion. You can get ‘‘em in supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies and even in sari-sari stores esp in touristy areas.

    When used in its modern context, Third World is considered to be a derogatory term that degrades countries which are developing and/or poor.
    This combination of confusion and possible insult has made Third World a largely obsolete term.
    Instead, most modern speakers and writers favor more accurate, inoffensive terms such as "developing countries" and "least developed countries" (calculated by the United Nations) or "low-income countries" (based upon World Bank data).

    • @NicandPaddyVlog
      @NicandPaddyVlog  Před 2 lety

      I’m being ironic. Hence the ? in the thumbnail. I’m breaking down stereotypes of how people that have never been here and probably use the term, by filming one of the most modern, cleanest, advanced, and safest cities in the world while asking third world?

    • @mr.kickyosneakz_5583
      @mr.kickyosneakz_5583 Před 2 lety +1

      Not just referring to the thumbnail but to what was said in the video itself “Welcome to the Philippines, thirld world country” although right after you said “Can’t believe its a third world…”
      Besides, the argument whether the Philippines is considered as a Third World country or not is beyond the point. I am merely stating that in today’s time, there is a more acceptable/less derogatory term that can be used.

    • @NicandPaddyVlog

    As you can see, BGC has no Electric Cables outside.
    All cables underneath ✌️😁

      Hi. Cheers. Yep, I filmed a night tour yesterday evening and at night. Have shots from about 5-7pm with millions of dogs out and the parks filled and a bulk of the night tour is filmed at 9pm on a Sunday. I walk down on the other side showing more of the night life on High st. Just finished editing it and will upload when I get to a place with faster internet/upload speeds
