Have talked to some here about buying a car, don't buy used they say, but the cars do not drive so far, then they sell, even hassle with paper to new owner? Does the tourist visa have to be valid for a certain amount of time what I’ve been reading online is you must have at least a six month valid tourist visa which of course you could only get if you were married to a Filipino immigration told me know that’s not true just take your ACR card. It’s valid for one year, take your passport and visa also but it doesn’t have to be for six months cause at this time. I can only get a tour visa two months at a time so again the question is your passport visa have at least six months on it.

      Thanks John. I just looked at the back of my license. They appear to have accurately transferred all the classes on my UK licence to my PH DL. I do have a full bike license though. Generally a car license allows you to ride a small bike. I don’t know to what cc though in the Philippines. To use the express way your bike needs to be over 400cc. I have a KTM 390 but the reg documents class it as 400cc and it’s expressway legal. Worse case scenario and the traffic enforcer is not happy with the bike class on your DL, 20usd / 1000 pesos will likely be enough (fine) for you to drive on and and allow time to sort out. Even though you can drive on your US license for 90 days, it’s not easy explaining that to a traffic enforcer. So best to bring an international permit with you to save hassle

    When will your Filipino driving license expire? I have been told is 5years from issuance or your birthday is that true?

    • @NicandPaddyVlog
      @NicandPaddyVlog  Před 2 lety

      Yea. Supposed to be 5 years. There were signs up saying licences will now be issued for 10years. Mine expires on my birthday so they gave me about 4.5 years. But they give you an online account and it appears that the renewal can be done online.

    Good info, forgot to mention that you have to show you have been in the Philippines for 6 months or more, (not a year like it used to be). I got my filipino DL last year in Cebu at SM Seaside LTO they gave me my plastic DL the same day, took me about 4 hours, that was for a car endorsement, I had to go back the next day for my MC endorsement. (another couple hours) Every LTO office is different, each asking for different documents. Example: the LTO in Carcar said I need a ACR card, being a Balikbayan, I don't need a ACR card, all I needed in the LTO at SM Seaside, was a copy of our marriage licence, original and copies of all the other documents you described. BTW, did you have to pee in a bottle?

    • @NicandPaddyVlog
      @NicandPaddyVlog  Před 2 lety

      No peeing required 😄. Yea, I’ve noticed there’s not always consistency between government offices. I think before you could get it after 3 months if you got a 6 month extension. I got this on a two month extension but I haven’t been out of the country for 2 years.

Bit like the ‘Lonely Planet’ travel guides which I always traveled with in the past before internet and websites took over up to date travel info.

    Compare Boston to BGC and not the Provence. I live in a verry nice suburb of OKC, nice schools, safe and clean. I have a three/four-bedroom bought less than 3 years ago, 2 car garage, for 100K to buy and I can buy a real nice, safe house in Oklahoma from 25K to 100K in many cities. I am a disabled veteran and pay No property taxes, no state taxes and no sales takes, no car tags, my Medicare part A is free and have a I also have the VA so free medical, free hearing, free teeth care and free glasses. In the USA Interest rates are cheaper, Land prices are cheaper, used car prices are cheaper, western foods are cheaper, electronics is cheaper. In the USA has so much land that is nice and the water and the air is cleaner, gararge sales are great, stores have great sales all the time. The Philippines is not clean, more polluted air, water and Noice. the Philippines pays very little wages, and the Philippine people have to struggle every day and then there so many dogs and everything is controlled by the Chinese. In the Philippine you have 125 million people in the same amount of land that Oklahoma has 4 million. So stop bragging about other countries for the USA is a decent place and has given you a great pension.
