- In this video I look at clearing a pool table. I give a running commentary as I plan my way through the clearance to help give an insight into how I'm getting position with the cue ball and keeping the clearance as simple as possible. Hopefully this step by step guide will understand the thought process when it comes to clearing the table in a game of pool.

I have a request if you're up for it: Could you try show us a break & run from a less perfect spread, from a dodgier rack? In my league most tables are bobbly and unkempt, and almost impossible to get a perfect rack and most players reffing don't try too hard get it spot on anyway. Plus my break isn't always as solid as yours, so I'm usually looking at a much trickier layout after the break, with a breakout or two needed and a good bit of traffic.

Cheers. I have couple more of these where the balls aren't quite so nicely spread. I'll see if I can make one with a bad spread of the balls though.

The first shot, could you have played a red into the yellow making the position easier? I mean, the rules you were playing, can you pot the yellow off a red?
Unfortunately you can't do that in international rules. The colour you strike first is deemed the colour you where going for, so you were going for red but pot a yellow. This wouldn't be a foul but it is loss of turn and you wouldn't claim the yellows.
