  • A very old Welsh folk tune taken from a manuscript called ‘Melus Seiniau’ by the renowned song collector Ifor Ceri (also known as John Jenkins). Jenkins collected tunes and melodies from across Wales during the first half of the 19th century, including many from Ceredigion. Lliw’r Ceiroes (Colour of Cherries) is noted as originally being sung by Evan Thomas from Llanarth. Here it is performed live probably for the first time in many centuries.

Alaw gwerin Cymreig o lawysgrif Melus Seiniau gan y casglwr o fri, Ifor Ceri, (John Jenkins). Casglodd Jenkins diwniau ac alawon o bob cwr o Gymru yn ystod hanner cyntaf y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg, gan gynnwys nifer helaeth o Geredigion. Nodir mai Evan Thomas o Lanarth a ganodd Lliw’r Ceiroes yn wreiddiol. Dyma hi yn cael ei pherfformio am y tro cyntaf mewn canrifoedd siwr o fod. Ughhh this song is so good! Your voice is so silky smooth and everything just harmonises so well. The mixing is spot on too.
