Brilliant! Have just bought a new Seiko and the sales person at the store said to use a completely different method that caused me to almost strip the threads 😬 The method you have shown is far superior 👍
Thank you very much, I noticed the crown being crooked so I wanted to correct it. I noticed my technique gave me right results about every 2 times out of 3, which made me uncomfortable about durability of the crown. Your technique works 100 % of the time!
I think the previous owner to my Seiko turtle may have damaged a tread. Once I feel resistance screwing in, I apply slight pressure to the sides which I hear a click then allows me to fully seat and thread the crown all the way in
Thank you:) I tried this on my Eta2428-2 and experienced the similar thing. A little counter clockwise and I hear the sound, then turn the crown clock wise easily. But sometimes it doesn not work, it doesn't turn clock wise easily. In that case I don't force to turn it. Just I redo the same procedure and try again and it works. The important thing is you must feel the crown is turning clockwise "easily".
Si no voy a usar un reloj puedo guardarlo con la corona un poco floja para liberar la presion de la junta. Hasta bolsas disecantes les pongo. Y si no voy a mojarlo debo apretarlo completo
Nice I had no clue about this method. There are some times when I do the first method that I believe it messes with the winding mechanism. It'll run for the good part of a day and then randomly stop
Hello i have a SRPD21K1 and would like to know how to be sure the crown is secured and water will not enter the watch as i would like to go swiming with my watch.
A weak spring will cause problems with getting the stem to engage the keyless works when pushing in the crown. It's better to have the stronger spring.
Brilliant!

I really love when there is a youtube video like this that will answer a very specific question. Thank you!

Best explanation video ever!
People probably know already but this applies to brands that use the NH variety of mechanical movements from seiko.
Great advice and demonstration. Thank you!
Easiest solution I have come across.
Thanks.
I tried it on my another non-Seiko watch and it works on that watch also:) A very beneficial info, thank you.

Thank you! How about other brands of watches? Same procedure - turning counter-clockwise first?
Dropping some serious knowledge. Thanks bro..
Any time!

Wow, I had no idea. Super helpful, thank you.
You bet!
Thank you Boss..🙏 I wouldve spoilt my new Seiko King Turtle
Is this unique for Seiko OR does it apply to other/all makes?
Thanks for this. Wonder why Seiko don't include it in the manual.
Wow I had instinctively known this!

Very helpful!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow! Do Citizen watches need to be treated the same way as this? Or simply push in and screw clockwise is fine for Citizen?
What’s the model of the watch looks beautiful?
Nice I had no clue about this method. There are some times when I do the first method that I believe it messes with the winding mechanism. It'll run for the good part of a day and then randomly stop
WOW I did not know that!! Thanks, bro!!!
You're welcome.
hi, thanks for the vid, but is it meant to feel and sound crunchy?

This is what I do with my Seamaster. How would one know if the threads were damaged?
So I just got a seiko 5. Did not know what I was doing. Then looked this up. Simply cannot get it. Did I cross thread and fuck it up??
Wow, thanks--I never knew this. All my Seiko dive watches will now be at much less risk!
Happy to help!
What is ref. Number of your seiko?
Does it still winding when you screw down?
Do you no longer offer modding services?
So in other words: If you've never screwed it backwards, you have literally _screwed up your thread (replace the damn thing)_ ?
Hi, I'm watch your skx031 mod video, i want to know the crystal gasket size
Check usa.crystaltimes.net for gaskets, I think they sell one for the SKX031
It seems that they would be easier to operate if the springs holding the crown out weren't so strong.
