O.M. Day wheel is incorrect crown position
Is this unique for Seiko OR does it apply to other/all makes?
So I just got a seiko 5. Did not know what I was doing. Then looked this up. Simply cannot get it. Did I cross thread and fuck it up??
Friend, should the NH35 movement be crown at 3.8?
Thank you very much, I noticed the crown being crooked so I wanted to correct it. I noticed my technique gave me right results about every 2 times out of 3, which made me uncomfortable about durability of the crown. Your technique works 100 % of the time!
Im a casio dude if you know how to take care a watch will last forever.
You can do the same thing to the indices on the dial - if you want permanently colored indices. It doesn't prevent the lume from shining.
Cool tip: You can put clear packing tape on the inside face of the dial, covering the day/date window, and then color it with a sharpie. that will give you lots of non-permanent color options for your day/date wheels. It does require a white day/date wheel, obviously. You can even to two-tone wheels the same way.
Does it still winding when you screw down?
I think the previous owner to my Seiko turtle may have damaged a tread. Once I feel resistance screwing in, I apply slight pressure to the sides which I hear a click then allows me to fully seat and thread the crown all the way in
BTW... where did you get the day/date dial for this build? I've wanted to build one with this feature, and can't find it anywhere.
This is what I do with my Seamaster. How would one know if the threads were damaged?
How much do you charge to do full service on seiko skx031? I also baught one off ebay from the Phillipines :(
4:00 video starts
But how do you actually install these spacers?
What’s the model of the watch looks beautiful?
hi, thanks for the vid, but is it meant to feel and sound crunchy?
My seiko chronograph similar to this age has an alarm, stop watch(to a second). This one on here doesn't have alarm, but 1/20th of a second stop watch. I like the alarm on mine. I just got it out after 10 years of retirement and not wearing a watch. Mine not be as popular as this one.
Hey man you said that the black movement spacer on the stock watch is bigger than the grey one on NH36 and that you will have to replace it in order to fit your case back with the extra lip but you kept the original black spacer until the end. Does it mean that the original black spacer for new Seiko 5's is the same dimensions as the grey one on NH36?
I tried it on my another non-Seiko watch and it works on that watch also:) A very beneficial info, thank you.
Thank you:) I tried this on my Eta2428-2 and experienced the similar thing. A little counter clockwise and I hear the sound, then turn the crown clock wise easily. But sometimes it doesn not work, it doesn't turn clock wise easily. In that case I don't force to turn it. Just I redo the same procedure and try again and it works. The important thing is you must feel the crown is turning clockwise "easily".
Si no voy a usar un reloj puedo guardarlo con la corona un poco floja para liberar la presion de la junta. Hasta bolsas disecantes les pongo. Y si no voy a mojarlo debo apretarlo completo
So in other words: If you've never screwed it backwards, you have literally _screwed up your thread (replace the damn thing)_ ?
I followed your video to remove the bezel from my Seiko 5 sports watch SNZH53K1. It wasn't rotating and needed a clean in soapy water followed by a drop of oil. The difficult I had was getting the bezel back on the watch by hand. I used a watch case press and this did the job.
strap size ?
That was really well done, I like the day/date option, building a watch from scratch still amazes me.
Nice I had no clue about this method. There are some times when I do the first method that I believe it messes with the winding mechanism. It'll run for the good part of a day and then randomly stop
Thanks for this. Wonder why Seiko don't include it in the manual.
Nice build! Thank you for the inspiration.
looks awesome!@
Nice..is that for sale?
Great advice and demonstration. Thank you!
I love this version ! Only thing,...... and this is nit picking at it's very best/ or worst is the colour red on the second hand and the day window on sunday doesn't quite match . But I would buy one of these in a heartbeat if it was in my price range ! Fantastic mod !
I have a doubt. This seiko have a internal crown gasket?
Thank you Boss..🙏 I wouldve spoilt my new Seiko King Turtle
I've got an SKXA35 and absolutely love it and I'm finally picking up a 173 tomorrow. Easier watch to match up and daily, considered a 007 but the square markers are so much cleaner. I appreciate and respect the passion and sentiment you clearly have for the hobby and these particular watches, something about you reminiscing about the SKX and sharing those experiences with your brother kind of hit me in a way. I love sharing my hobbies with my little bro and it's the little things that matter, something as simple as a $250 watch could create those special moments and memories. Anyway, thanks for the video :)
Hello i have a SRPD21K1 and would like to know how to be sure the crown is secured and water will not enter the watch as i would like to go swiming with my watch.
Sir may I ask if I can mod my seiko 5 sports and turn in into presage. I know where to buy the case and dial of presage. I'm transferring the 4r35b movement to the 40 mm case of presage and dial. Please respond.
Tengo un 173 y coincido en que es un magnífico modelo, con gran personalidad. Felicidades por el video.
Where can we get that kind of chapter ring?
How can i purchased one?
Looks like the case you used is a 6105-8000
Hey Alex - I'm thinking about doing the CT710 conversion but am wondering about the quality of the pvd coating? What were your thoughts?
Brilliant! Have just bought a new Seiko and the sales person at the store said to use a completely different method that caused me to almost strip the threads 😬 The method you have shown is far superior 👍
Best explanation video ever! People probably know already but this applies to brands that use the NH variety of mechanical movements from seiko.
Do you no longer offer modding services?
What code this Seiko?
Easiest solution I have come across. Thanks.
Will the oem case back fit the new case?
Very nice, i love your choice of this Capt Willard build, well done 👍
WHERE CAN I BUY YOYR CASE????!
