    This mod is for those people who usually don’t use all the multicore jack cables and want less cables and no more mess.
    Be careful! this modification is not reversible so do it at your own risk!

    Great idea, the reason why? Many Roland OEM harnesses are limited in length, making placement of the toms difficult. With this mod, one could incorporate longer tom and cymbal cables, making placement in proper position far easier.
    Further, if you use your drum module on multiple kits, it saves wear and tear on the multi pin module plug.

  • @publicprofilename4273

    Very nice! That is a great way to have more control of cable management, and a good easy way to be able to repair any faulty cables. Very nice!

  • @jerryknightse
    @jerryknightse Před 3 lety +17

    One suggestion: your new cable connectors have a metal strain relief built in. If you can cut/ orient each cable so the black insulator is just a little longer (or push the cable forward slightly), lightly clamp the metal ‘clip’ toward the rear of the connector to surround and “grab”the cable. That way if and of the cables get pulled on, the cable will stay in one piece. ;)

      I hate and love roland, their drum products are great but always have upgrade limits and crazy prices. For example spd sx is a great device but it came out in the 2009 and the new drum modules are great but the sounds seems to be of the 2009 too.

    • @DrummerMiles
      @DrummerMiles Před 2 lety

      @@edrumnow It is crazy to me that they haven't upgraded the spd-sx in so long. At least alesis has finally moved past an lcd display. And the fact that there isn't an easier way to load user samples (like a purpose built interface software, something like what the spdsx has) in the td17 is so frustrating. Thanks for the vid!

    • @michaelk8642
      @michaelk8642 Před rokem

      @@edrumnow Nailed it! They always find some way to gimp their products. Whether it's a module, such as the TD-17 having hardly any memory to load kits. To something like the MDS-Compact rack having a square tube as it's center brace instead of the industry standard 1.5" tubing that Roland uses on every other part of the rack. You know, heaven forbid if you might want to mount an extra cymbal. There are so many other places that they screw the consumer, including in the wallet.

    I want to change my module to TD-27 but the multicord looks different from td-17 with its snare and ride cables ending in some other jack. So, can you please answer me, do you know, If you can use the multicord from td-17 with td-27? Because I have a ordinardy snare drum with a 6.3 mm jack and I want to use it from the multicord, not from AUX cable. It looks like to me they are the same size, so if anybody know, please help! Thank you

      Cerca su Google "Roland TD-25 kit" e entra nei siti Drum-Tec e Vexpression. Loro fanno kit per i moduli Roland e non solo. Sono di gran lunga migliori dei kit di default dei moduli. Infatti mi chiedo come mai non chiamino loro per fare i kit quando fanno dei moduli nuovi. Anche gli ultimi moduli come il TD-17 e 27 nonostante la tecnologia e le funzioni hanno dei kit pessimi paragonati ai kit Drum-Tec e Vexpression. Non te ne pentirai. Io come modulo ho il TD-11, non mi interessano troppi kit, me ne bastano una quindicina che mi diano il suono più fedele possibile a quello di una batteria acustica. Ho acquistato il pacco kit della Drum-Tec "Real Acoustic Sound" per il TD-11 e sono rimasto sorpreso dalla differenza di suoni. Con 30 euro ho cambiato il modulo, come se ne avessi comprato uno nuovo
