  • This is my first saltwater tank! I have been wanting to do this for a long time and with all the spare time I have from quarantine I can finally do it. I really have no idea what I'm doing all through out the video so..... This will either turn out to be the coolest thing or be a total disaster.

Just a tip for beginners, add sand AFTER the rocks if you plan on getting a cleaning crew or fishes that dig in the sand, the last thing you want is one of the moving away the sand under a rock and make it fall. I've seen tanks crack because of this.

Get a big heavy duty trash can, I use one its a 32 gallon Brute heavy duty 3 x I bought at HomeDepot, it has wheels, you can make all your water at one time verse doing 5 5-gallon buckets, save yourself some work.

Next spread out 3 or 4 plastic Walmart bags on bottom, keeps tank clear adding water.

In the filter, you want to have the carbon on top and the bio-ring stuff in the middle. Chemical filtration stuff is always on the top cuz its the last thing water should hit plus you have to replace chemical media every month so its much easier to grab it off the top. They got the setup wrong on the box, it goes mechanical first then biological then chemical which is optional

Bro, i live in Maldives and i can get all of this for free. Would that be okay? If i get saltwater then i dont have to add anything to it right?

Love the video brother, just few questions. How many weeks after do you add the livestock, and if it’s possible, may I get the links for the objects please?

a tip: i use Purigen by Seachem instead of carbon in my Aquaclear. You only replace it every 3 months instead of carbon because carbon burns out after a couple weeks in saltwater. The little 100ml Purigen bag just drops into the aquaclear filter just like the carbon that came with it. Carbon does work good but you constantly need to replace it.

I've never been game enough to go marine; costs being a big factor. Good job. 👍

Where did you get the lid? I like how the filter is on the side and not the back.
