When I was younger, I remember my family was very poor but I bought 2 clown fish with my savings, and didn’t know they live on seawater. Every week my father would take me to the beach and collect seawater, we would wait for the sand to settle down and scoop the seawater up. I miss my dad
thnx for ur story
Sounds like a great dad

R.I.P. sounds like s wonderful father
Much love 💕 my man. Your father sounds like a wonderful human being
No idea why im watching this, i've been reefing for 10 years lol. But I like the video, very nice and well explained!
Haha great to hear thanks xD
Same thing happens to me 😂...
Hi buddy, so what filteration you used for the tank? It turned out amazing btw.
@@huanhuynh1670 thank you, there is no filtration in the tank :)
@@seafriendlyreef hi 👋 nd which type of seawater fish for this nano aquarium? I am waiting for reply thanks for such a helpful vedio
The tank in the beginning looks awesome as hell. I like how it's scaped and it doesn't look supercolorful like other tanks, which I prefer.
I love the way you share your experience with the beginners. Lots of love ❤️
You are a great inspiration Tobias. You are one of reasons I have a quarantine tank and a main display that is cycling at the moment. The corals I have and the clean up crew is thriving
Awesome Joseph! Thank you so much for that feedback! :D

I love to hear that! :D
You don’t think the fish are sad that it’s so small do you?
@@jeeperskreepers6292 what fish? lol
@@jeeperskreepers6292 it’s just a planted tank no fish.. did you watch the video lmao?

One word, awesome! Keep it up man. ✌🏼
Thank you buddy!!
Experienced owner here ,this video cleared up a lot for me and other owners .thank you for posting
Great video. I’m 7 Months in with a 40 gallon breeder and loving it
How’s it going now! I have a 40gb that I want to make a saltwater tank and need some tips
That cube was online for such a long time .... have seen it often when i scrolled ebay ;)
Hahaha nice

Another awesome video! Videos like this makes it easy for new reefers to get into the hobby.
Thank you so much for that! :)
Can you just make a video about how to keep fish without skimmer ?
All hobbies people very friendly.Ive got a lot of second hand staff for my cube 55g..Love salt water aquarium hobby.I I am spending a lots of time in front ot this cosmos ❤.Thank you for your video
Tobias im currently running freshwater tank for 5 years and love it and feel like my second tank would be saltwater, but I’m green about it, so I’d be watching your channel for inspiration and guidance, much respect and greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
Happy new year!
You are so full of positive energy, I hope 2021 mirrors your attitude ♥️
Happy new year to you too
Great job 👏 so well explained. Its the first time I understood fully video of what you said ,since my English is so weak lovlig explained thanks man:)
Sempre assisti o seu canal e você é uma grande referência para mim, muito obrigado por dedicar o seu tempo para passa o seu conhecimento pra nós, agora com as legendas em Português BRASIL Ficou mais fácil de entender tudo.
Thank you so much for this!!! Exactly what I needed
Watched this video in the morning and by lunchtime I had a 200L tank for £245 sterling. what an incredible deal!! Thanks for the Ebay tip!!
Finally, there's someone that really cares about this hobby and admits that tanks under 30cm are TOO SMALL to keep fishes !!!!! No matter who says that it's 1 fish every 5 gallons, those are only an excuse for shops to sell more!! ... these tanks can only host corals in my opinion and I'm really happy to see that isn't my thought only. Thank you Seafriendlyreef for the good content! It's very important to make ppl and new hobbies understand how to take care of their animals. Well done buddy :)
thank you for that awesome feedback! :D I love to hear your opinion about that topic! :)
@@seafriendlyreefI’m looking into keeping some shrimp what size do you think would be suitable?

It really is just that simple. It helps to understand the nitrogen cycle though.

realy apreciate your content.i build sea water tank from zero thanks to you.
I had a nano tank to start with and had lots more but also had an external skimmer from deltec.
“It looks like this” (cuts to water on the floor). LOL I laughed so hard! So true!
Great New Year Video, Tobias. You'll some people dip their toes into the hobby.
Thank you very much for that! I wish you a great start into 2021 :)
Just subscribed 👍. You got such a good deal there. I've just setup a little nano on my tank and loving the hobby. Great video, look forward to the next.
Thank you so much for that! Wish you all the best for your project ;)
I would like q video about how keep the aquarium, like how to feed the corals, how often do water chances and things like that
Every tank is different. Depends on bioload and what filtration you're using BUT I'd say for tanks
Looking at getting back into it . I haven’t had a tank in 12 years . I hope the technology has improved a lot.
It has tenfold but so has the price
Just stumbled across your channel, really helpful video I will be hopefully setting up my first tank soon
Nice thank you so much:)
I think we need an update of this tank because it's very inspired for me, thank you!
Thank you for your feedback! :D You will get some updates of it ;)

Thank you for the great ideas. I’m wanting to buy my first one! But it’s going to be a big Reef tank
Not a bad idea, bigger is often easier to keep :)

Just watching to learn how to get started with salt tanks as over the last 6-8years I’ve really got into the fish hobby and I’ve only got freshwater tanks and ponds at the moment, but hoping after some beginner videos I’ll be able to setup my first salt water tank, thanks for the info was super helpful video 💪🏾❤️🇦🇺 I love how attractive and eye catching salt water tank are compared to freshwater can’t wait 😝

besides the fish, this guy never misses arm day!
Nice work. Maybe I start when my computer science study ends. But I prefer bigger aquariums because I want to have some fishes in the aquarium.
Great video, thanks!
Good to see you mate !!
Thank you! :D
I liked the idea of having a marine aquarium with only corals, without fish, it was beautiful.
Thank you for that awesome feedback! :)
Nice job mate 😉.
I have only freshwater aquariums , maybe in this year I could scape a saltwater aquarium 😉.
This is your year Lorenzo! I would appreciate that :D
this is great, i always thought you needed thousands of dollars of equipment to run a saltwater aquarium.
think i might give saltwater a shot soon.
Realy big rispect from kurdiye i like video and learn fast
Thanks!
Great video! Thinking to covert a fresh water aquarium to a saltwater. It's a Nano tank 60L, I want a couple of fishes and some corals. What internal skimmer would you recommend?
Love it !
Thank you
My advice is that if your unsure about your water quality, do more water changes and use an aditive or two. My local shop suggested Fuel from AquaVitro, I also use Reef Energy Plus Coral Nutrition from Red Sea. Together, they cost me less than $40 American. PH (water purity) and Kh (Alkalinity) can also heavily impact coral health, so a good reef buffer wouldn't be a bad idea, I saw one at my local pet shop for another $15 American. Buying rocks from your local shop is going to be the cheapest and most convenient option, too. 1lb per gallon (.45kg per 4 liters) same with sand. This will also help buffer your system to keep that preferred PH and Kh.
Should check out the Penn-Plax 360 aquascape bowl. It comes with a filter and protein skimmer so you can use it for salt water.
Terimakasih salam reef tank🙏💙🐟🐠🇲🇨
Man I had a 60 gal. With live rock a couple of corrals and a couple of fish. By far the best inhabitant I had was an arrow crab. I spent more time watching the tank than I did watching t.v. The arrow crab would come out and go over the rocks looking for Bristol worms. I miss my tank.
After watching your videos i decide to have reef tank.
I want to get into reefs but A know nothing about them and B don't want to go bankrupt 😂
Lol im from south africa and here €350 is about R1000 (our currency is Rands (R)) so it is very expensive
I'm in the same boat.
I think we need to wait for about a month or so before adding a corals into the newly setup tank. Am i wrong?
Guten Tag! Hello Tobias, i have some questions about reef tank.. i have zero experiance and im a begginer, i want to build a 40x40x40, how thick must be the glass? and can i put 2 small fishes in 40 litres?
Great video. ❣️ Thank you. I have a question about water. Should I use reverse osmosis water or can I use tap water?
Nice video brother. I need it
I just wondered how you found tang aggression overall? But also more specifically the Achilles and the hybrid and the two Naso? I’ve heard the aggression between Tangs of the same Genis can be really bad? Where all the tangs introduced to the tank at the same time?
Nice video I am switching from fresh water to salt water and I want reefs and corals I have a 32 bio cube how many corals do you recommend? And how many pounds of rock?
Bro you make use understand awesomely
Haha nice thank you brother!
gran video!!!, qué producto usas para limpiar esos cristales?
Thank you!
Tbh I've recently bought a 1.2m frag tank for £100 off of eBay from a breeder, my only problem now is getting a filter for it and making a stand. Thought about doing an 8cm thick mattenfilter to start with then my current and filtration is combined in one unit.
hy,for keeping corals its a must only Ro water?
I don't care about reef tanks.. I just wanna watch this handsome dude explain things to me 🤣
is this tank big enough to keep hermit crabs? or is it mainly for corals with this size tanks? couse if its to small for crabs or fish is it big enough for more corals then in the video?
Cheap zoa's, kenya trees, zinnias, star polyps! 2 or 3 live rocks and you are good to go!
i love fb groups! ive gotten so many almost free corals, including LPS/SPS and softies that are rare/hard to find or expensive, even got a huge BTA for 20 usd + a bunch of free discosomas and SPS
Good job! Macht Spaß zuzuschauen. (Ich will trotzdem keins 😄)😘
Nice tank, beautiful professor... hahaha 😁
Hahah thank you so much! ;)
I wonder why my GSP is not open up and my mushroom is also not opening up and running away.. wondering if any issue on the water.. NO2, NO3, PO4, KH test all in best results..
Awesome video... What about skimmer? I want to do a cheap project with 40 litter aquarium the filtration is inside the aquarium i want to use sand from the sea and water as well...my big question is do i need skimmer what he is going to do that water changes and filter won't?.... Thank you very much for your time.
Hi, so in my opinion if you are not keeping fish it is okay to run a 40 l system without a skimmer :) But then it is important to do water changes
wish you all the best for your project
Nice job 👍🏿...
thank you!
Awesome video, very inspiring! Would you recommend any type of clean up crew? If so, when would you introduce them?
Finally, would you be (safely) able to keep a spider crab in a setup like this?
Yes in my opinion no problem. If you do it the way I did, you can add them about a week later :)
@@seafriendlyreef thanks for the reply!
thats great
which kind of nutrients or reef food you use?
is the super glue bad? and which glue should i use?
What supplements you put to mix with your salt?
Hello all reading, I am trying to do some research on how to start an aquarium as it is going to be my first attempt. I'm thinking something around 40-75 gallons. I would like my tank to home a pair of Clownfish, a Watchman Goby and Tiger Pistol Shrimp pair, Royal Gramma Basslet, and possibly a Starry Blenny. I'm not sure if I want to do any coral or anything as I am just starting. Just needing some advice on how you guys would start with the tank. Is 40-75 gallons enough space for the fish listed above? I wouldn't want to put all those fish into a tank that they wouldn't feel comfortable in size wise. Should I start with corals or should I add them later on into the tank if I do end up having some? I'm a couple months out of jumping into starting the project, so budget is not a huge issue as I will be saving up and setting some money aside for the next couple of months, so when it comes closer to time to start the tank I can purchase everything at once. Any advice and tips will be much appreciated. If anyone reading has experience with any of the fish listed above I would love some insight into the ownership of the fish and will appreciate any feedback. Thanks all 🙏
Okay so at our pet store i can buy salt water in a bucket. Is that a good idea or i should always use ro water and mix it with salt at home?
Interessante!
How long do you wait for the corals you added ?
I would like to know what the light is that you used for this tank.
-pours kitchen salt into a bucket of water-
-adds one crab-
perfection
Hi.
How do you get the salt water though? And how big of a tank do you need for a small lion fish just like swim shady
Can we use hang on filters to this saltwater tank ?
i want to make a temperate sea water tank for sea snails only, im going to collect them personally from the sea. are there guides for this specific type of aquarium?
would I be able to transform a 75 gallon tank that I use for freshwater into a saltwater aquarium?
I also need to know , what did you clean old tank with?, so that I don’t use alcohol or other toxic chemicals?, thanks for that 😁👍
If i set up this tank maybe a little bigger could i keep oysters in it?
I’ve been thinking about getting into salt water aquariums I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank but I always stray because I don’t know much about keeping salt water fish like how to clean the tanks and what fish are good for beginners etc.
Is the fan noisy, is there any noise from the lights? The last time I had a tank was in the 1990s and it was noisy and hard to clean, some weird contraption under the gravel.. anyways, this looks awesome and I’d love to have that in my office! $300 US? I’d gladly pay $400 if somebody would set this up, but that sounds too cheap, aren’t those corals like $50 bucks each at least?
Awesome video! Can you keep invertebrates and snails in this tank without a skimmer?
Yess that is no problem in my opinion :)
does it need a filter, or is water changes all it needs
I was told to wait a month after setting it up to add coral. It seems you added coral within days. What are the pros and cons of waiting?
I caught sailfin mollies, diamond killifish, and pupfish.
