🎻 my VERY first violin recital - 25.05.2024

- Welllll, here's my very first violin recital which went... okay, I guess? I did make a few mistakes, missed a few notes and was out of tune... 😅 (thanks anxiety lol)
I was also trembling; it's been a while since I got to be in front of a public but I still did my best despite all the overwhelming emotions going on inside of me. The fear of judgement and being seen came up like a sudden wave. I did want to cry after I was done (even though my teacher told me I did well anyway, bless him) because I knew I could play those pieces...
I beat myself up after the recital, but now I realise that it was an amazing experience from which I'm learning a lot. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone - that enriched my personal growth and I know I am going to do even better next time 💗

When I was 15 I had my first performance in front of other parents and audiences. Practice went well and all, but when having to perform in front of audience, despite it being a duet, i missed notes and was devastated. I beat myself up after that too haha but to be honest, that's just how we learn to gain confidence, it takes time. You did really well in this! Don't worry, good job!

The exact same thing happened to me when I was 15 🥲💙 Ten years later I'm still on my way studying violin at the conservatory and learning about myself everyday. And it's wonderful to see people who are going to through the same!! 🎻🙌🏻

Btw, when it comes down to recitals, do you choose your own piece or the teacher picks it for you?
I chose mine! I think teachers leave you carte blanche to choose, also because you gotta feel comfortable to perform them!
