I was so excited when I left California, headed to Nashville. Two years later, when I left Nashville and headed back to California, I was so sad. I hope you and Tasha love Nashville as much as I did!
My boyfriend at the time came 3 months after me and he wrote a song about his road trip. There's a line in it that I always loved. "The last day of my journey, 600 miles to go, was pulling out of Oklahoma, gasoline was getting low. I thought about my sweetheart who was waiting there for me, as I rolled on through Arkansas, across the bridge to Tennessee. I thought about that lonesome highway, and all the places that I'd been, out on the road to my horizon, oh to do it again."
I always loved that part of the song because the best moment of my cross country trip was driving across the bridge and seeing the "Welcome to Tennessee" sign in the middle of the bridge and knowing this was the beginning of the next chapter in my life.

Thanks for taking us along! This was beautiful! I got choked up at the end 🥹 It will be so special for your kiddo to be able to watch these videos some day. I recently moved back to Illinois from Oregon. I really struggled with the drive! It was like a physical and mental endurance test. Idk what the deal was, but I kept getting into my destination towns several hours later than the gps would initially say the ETA was at the start of the day. It was like some Twilight Zone sh*t. It’s impressive you were able to keep up with making content throughout the move and good spirits; you both handled the whole thing so well! And way to go, Dave, on driving that truck! I didn’t think I could manage it, so I had to pay for movers, plus I needed to drive my car so I’d have it in IL. Welcome to the central time zone! I’m a 7 hour drive up the road from you in Bloomington IL! Speaking of Route 66, it comes through here and there are some neat attractions 😄 Congrats, you guys! 💗

I remember moving to Nashville from California in 2016! What a drive. I loved living in Nashville. Just made my way back to San Diego to be by family again, but I miss Nashville so so much. Hope you enjoy living there!

I was so nervous for y'all during that trip! I live near OKC and just kept asking the universe to keep y'all safe throughout. I'm so happy for you guys and this next chapter of your lives! I grew up, in LA, and a piece of me is sad you left (I enjoyed getting to experience a little bit of LA life through you guys), but I just know what's ahead is going to be so amazing! I left for Nashville at the beginning of March. I spent my first night in Kingman. In the morning, it was warm and beautiful, so I put on jeans, a tank top, and sandals. Around lunchtime, I was in Flagstaff, and there was snow on the ground. It was such a trip! I was young and had no idea that Arizona was more than just a desert.
Flagstaff is such a beautiful part of AZ - but yeah that climate is so different than you’d imagine!

My husband and I moved from southern California (lived in southern California - both born and raised there) to northern California. Then lived 2 years in northern California and moved to Florida. My husband and I drove separately on the 5 day drive. We have been in Florida for almost 2 years now. A car rear ended me in the Arizona desert about 1 hour before the Phoenix city line (my car was still drivable and made it to Florida to get fixed). I did find it interesting seeing different states by driving and seeing different landscapes.

I feel for you. On my way back from Nashville to Northern California, I had to drive 3 different Uhaul trucks. Each time, they made me unload and reload the truck all by myself. The last truck I was given in Salt Lake City was a 24 foot manual shift. I was also towing my car. I barely made it over the mountains in Nevada. I couldn't get it out of first gear going uphill. It was so scary!

It reminded me of our moves. We moved from a suburb of Cleveland OH with a 16-year-old and a 19-month toddler to a suburb of Portland OR. Then, we move 21 years later to Louisville KY with a 22-year-old with no drivers license. We moved to Colorado Springs and back to Louisville a year later. In April and September, we moved back to Colorado Springs. We rented moving trucks. I am ready to only bring clothes, photos, and objects with sentimental value as long as it fits in our car the next move. Glad you made it and hope Nashville treats you well.
Wow so many cross country moves!! But yeah I totally agree! Would’ve been sooo much easier to just get rid of everything and start fresh lol 😂 if only having to get all new stuff wasn’t so expensive!

Ditch the Tesla.
Congrats on your move. Hope you love your new home. However, what were you guys thinking!?! Haven't you heard of moving companies, or ABF U-Pack, or Pods? What about just having the Tesla transported for you? I know it isn't cheap, but that was a really long move, and if you had at least had the Tesla transported, you could have had two drivers in the moving truck. I would be so stressed out driving a huge moving truck across the country by myself. Also, the money you had to have spent on hotel rooms for so many nights, and the gas and miles on the moving truck would have been expensive too. Anyway, glad you made it, safely, and cheers to your new home!
We just heard about sooooooooo many moving company scams, we figured the safest bet was to just do it ourselves, but yeah, it was a trek 😅 luckily we paid for all of our hotel stays with points - so that was a huge win!
