  • How slow can you go without stalling your car. Lots of learner drivers worry about stalling on their driving lessons and driving test, lots of novice learner driving slow down then put their foot on the clutch to stop the car from stalling.
    So what I we will be deliberately slowing the driving school car down in 2nd gear and then in 1st gear.
    Going down to speeds of less than 10 mph and seeing what will happen to the learner car in gears 1 and 2.

    just failed my test, was told that when i pulled out at a roundabout that “if i stalled it would have been dangerous” however i didn’t stall?! both myself and my instructor are annoyed as the examiner is known to make reasons to stop tests early. i had 1 minor as well so i’m clearly not a bad driver. i don’t know what to do now because i’m failing for something that never happened... i can’t waste £45 on something which isn’t even fair

      I would rebook your test and you and your instructor fine tune your driving and go and pass it. Good luck

    In cars with bigger engines or diesels you can pull away with just the clutch, and will drive itself faster than in this example by itself. If I put mine in 4th it will drives it’s self at around 30 with no gas

    Hey travis I’m just wondering on your test and you’re sat at a traffic light is it okay to have one hand on the wheel and one on the hand break or do you have to have both on the wheel even though you’re stopped. Thanks

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  Před 3 lety

      I ask my students to have one hand on handbrake whilst waiting, so yes.
