I started out making a video for the entire chest but quickly realized there was so much to cover around the lower pecs that it needed its own video. A couple of key takeaways, the angle of the exercises really matters. Your chest isn't just two heads, the sternal head is segmented even further and the area of it you hit is dependent on everything from the angle of the exercise to the grip you take.

You're crushing it with these vids. I'm really liking the technical aspects of which muscles are activating based on the different variations. Its really good content compared to all those other content creators who just do the same thing as everyone else.
Agreed
I'm tired of "Parrots"
@@migelikali7265Lower chest is about as important as the bottom of you feet.
Ryan please do this for back!!!
“He’ll be back”
Quite literally BACK
Fix your lower back | chested by science
I think it will be next or probably shoulders. But I think he'll pick it apart for us.

These video's are like goldmines, so much information for just paying attention. Hope to see even more results with this knowledge...
Positive feedback: This format for this theme and series you’ve been doing was the best so far. How you laid it out and summarized each component of each exercise in sum was perfect, clear and concise. Don’t change the recipe for the next muscle group you feature.
Wife getting in a body bag for a ten second bit is real love 😂
What we saw was take 139.
Very informative. No messing around. Straight to point. Love it
I was just about to look at another video of this same muscle region, was so pleased to see you had just released this! I'm 30 and have just started working out, your videos are a life saver man.
2:57 Best form of decline bench with arched back
4:48 Best form of Dip (Hybrid)
I'm waiting for the next training program from you that will be based on these researches that you make lately. Will definitely be a killer. I'm doing Gym program 2.0 from you second time with taking extra superset for each day and it's killing me in a good way. I found myself on the floor many times since I bought the program and it made me push even beyond. Thank you
what i genuinely enjoy with the test videos is that some movement that you completely passed on shows you it's effectiveness and the fact that you are enthusiastically correcting your previous opinions and habits and integrating new information asap.
Dude, I've bought the videos and love them. I coach highschool 6 man football and teach a strength and conditioning class. I use your suggestions and we only have wooden benches for equipment. I started the clas with 10 kids and it grew to 25. They love the workouts. Now I'm trying to buy bands and dumbells. Your programs are helping me be a better coach and trainer for kids 8th grade and up.
THANK YOU!!!
@Ryan just want to say thank you for the excellent information you provide. The combination of this knowledge combined with weight training and calisthenics exercises for gymnasts is simply amazing.
I’m 45 and killin handstand pushups, L sit dips and one armed pushups. Finally hitting the squats and lunges right as my core strength multiplies. Everyday I inch closer to hitting a several variations of the planche.
This type of info has slowly transformed me into the kind of beast I want to be like in the gym. You are much appreciated.
Love the straight forward approach in your videos.
Ryan these series of videos are really appreciated and illuminating for me and my friends. Thank you very much.
Another great video. I cant wait to see a back video but I am sure its not going to be easy given the complexity but you can do it !!
That was a fantastic video! This series you have come up with is outstanding. I am a very visual person, so the large screen with images and the video structure of the video explaining your testing was very engaging and informative. As a viewer, this video and series is effectively tying everyones new interest in science based training which has significantly been promoted and influenced from tik tok to other platforms and channels in the last couple of years, with practical bodybuilding thought, application and trial and error. As a selfish request, I would like a request a specific comprehensive video for rear delts testing the most common movements/and machines with some unique exercises i.e Arnold lying down rear felt raise, cable 45 degree rear belt fly popularised by JPG on tik tok etc., also video forearms, calves and neck. I haven't rewatched and made notes on any video on any platform since the old JRE podcast days. Excellent work. Looking forward to each body part being covered in the series. Thank you.
Man, ive been lifting 30+ years and you have changed my techniques more so than anyone else by a wide margin with these vids. This stuff is pure gold! Thanks for what you do bro!
I couldnt have said it better myself. Ryan, this is amazing! Total game changer. Thank You!!
The info you pass on your videos is incredible man. You’ve been a great help and inspiration for me. Keep up the good work!
Ryan, your narration and antics, as always, are GOLD.
Awesome video ! Last year I decided to drop flat bench completely as I had the idea that it developed my front delts more than my chest. Chucked in decline barbell press (besides incline dumbbell and chest press) instead and seeing way more progress !
You're killing it with this content!! Keep it going
I am so glad you have this device. You alone are tweaking my work out routine with your videos. Thank you for your dedication and work. Would like to see calfs and forearms exercises done to see what are the best. 💪thanks again for the vid. 🙏
Amazing series.
I would love to see a video on shoulders.
These videos are seriously amazing. Thank you.
Wife and I finished doing our second time through the PPL program with absolutely AMAZING results. First time: Did it exactly as programmed, second time we slightly increased weight and attempted to progressively overload more than the first time. Going to buy the new science based program today and i cant freaking wait!!!
Your programs and wisdom have completely changed my life.
Love these. Keep ‘‘em coming Ryan
This is genuinely such great content. Keep it up!!
I’m so happy I found this guy.. awesome info and always cracking me up. Great shit Ry.
Perfect blend of entertaining and wildly informative!
I needed this, thank you so much Ryan!
Nicely done, thank you!
That cable pulldow variation is incredible it blasts your lower chest thanks
We need this for shoulders and back please Ryan!!!🙌🏻
Keep pumping these videos Ryan!
Best video of the series, really focused on the science!
I really look forward to your videos and get the most out of your programs! One question have you tried a reverse grip on the decline press to see if there was a difference in activation?
Love the videos and science. Great info. In the future can you do a summary at the end of which exercises are most effective to least effective. In this video a gathered the decline chest press with hands a little outside shoulders and the dip leaning forward where the best. Is that pretty accurate?
super great content Ryan. Could you do one for the upper chest?
You’re videos rock man keep ‘em coming!
Man incredible videos with the EMG please keep em coming 🙏 🙌
love these videos always watch them on the way to the gym to kill every workout
Not only are your videos very informative, but they make me laugh my ass off. Thanks brother, you are a trip. 🤙
Your videos are getting better and better.
Please keep these videos coming!
I really appreciate this series of videos. Thank you very much
Wow!... great content! ... thanks for sharing...
Great video ty!
Killing it, got your month program and it's awesome
You fucking legend brotha, educational but funny and interesting at the same time? You actually catch my attention with this shit keep pushing
Great video, Ryan. 1st time i'm seeing your content. Exactly what I was looking for - I only have a basic bench and dumbells at home but i'll do that dumbell exercise you mentioned in passing. Appreciate ya' man!
Thanks again! Great content!
Another f*ibg hilarious and educational vid!
Keep 'em rollin!!
Hello Saint,
Good to see you again.
Nice lessons.
The information and humor is why this is the best youtube channel
Thanks keep these coming bro!!
This series is absolutely fantastic
Great video Ryan!
Very well done!
Love this. Love this series ❤️
U deserve ALL the $$$.. Good info with humour. Easy to watch and learn
This is information is hyper valuable. Thanks so much for releasing this information for free. Even at a sample size of one, it makes logical sense that it would extrapolate to most males, even if slight individual changes would be required. Fantastic work.
Yes Ryan! Been waiting for this! 👍🏻
Great content. Thank you.
thank you for this video. I watched A LOT of your videos multiple times, but stopped for a good while
the transformation of your content - in production value, presentation, but really information- is incredible, congratulations.
I would like to also suggest doing either ring pushups or "forward lean" pushups, where your hands are at the height of your abdomen/sides. Easy to think they should work like calisthenics pseudo-planche lean pushups, but since you're not in that crazy protraction your chest does everything and delts not much (at least for me)
Oh man, I subscribed after watching only this vid. Excellent tips, fun and not too serious
Thanks for the video Amazing work as always. I do think it missed something important though. The involvement of the shoulders.
In any benchpress we pull the shoulders back, but just by checking the muscle contraction you can see that pushing the shoulder down and forward it massively increases the contraction of the chest. I can harly activate my lower chest without pushing them forward but it becomes trivial once I do. I wonder how that would affect the EMG readings.
This obviously wouldn't apply to any benchpress variation but I think you should really check out multiple variations of flys at some point.
Given how amazing this series is I suspect you will make a ton of videos in the future so I hope you will get around to it at some point.
Amazing video like Always!
Thanks brother you are on my short list of people I watch for fitness routines and info right next to Jeff Nippard and More Plates 🤘🏽
Nice work. Really need to make a series of videos using this technique and device for ALL the muscles of the body. If you name them all similarly so they can be searched then people can use it as an encyclopedia for best hypertrophy exercises.
Great videos. Thanks.
Mate, idk if you hear this enough, but wow. you are a damn genius at what you do. Truly knowledgeable and to the point. on behalf of all gym-goers... thank you. For anyone wanting to make serious progress in the gym, it doesn't get better than this.
Love all the latest videos. Have you ever considered doing one about kettle bells.
A brilliant brilliant series. 👏
Love these videos
Happy New Year Ryan…love the new toys you got…almost 60 year old veteran and your method of training suits me just fine BZ
Ryan you're a riot, lol
I enjoy the comedy....
I also appreciate the information; I'm a newbee and I don't want to waste time doing exercises that don't produce gains.
I've learned that experience teaches a hard lesson, lessons better learned from others experiences rather than my own.
Thanks
Thank you for this channel. This is incredible
Loving these videos!! I was really curious what sort of activation you get with ring dips with the imbalance factor added.
these videos are gold!
Great info, definitely a game changer. What about upper/mid pecs?
Brilliant videos
You're the man great tips
these videos are gold
I am on pins and needles waiting on this full program!
Love the videos bro!!
Exactly the video I was Looking for.
I never clicked on a video so fast
Always a great video Ryan! Happy New Year!
I can’t believe after training for 16 years myself someone is finally showing how to hit the part of the chest
do the upper part next in depth very informative
Try out Bulgarian Ring Dips, they mimic the barbell dips but add the stabilization factor. Great for hypertrophy and targeting both the inner and outer regions of the lower pecs.
Best videos and info.
Most excellent educational fitness, information regarding scientific results in lower chest exercises!
Ryan Humiston is winning!
Great content bro! The comedy definitely works!
Hey Ryan, just bought the 2.0 and love it. However, are you going to update the program to reflect the (best) exercises that you have found while using your new tech? I would pay big money for that.
I'm loving this new device videos. I'd REALLY like to see you, another trained athlete and a regular joe do the same exercises and see if the activation results change significantly between people.
He could probably just use his dumb wife🤷♂️
@@KapenW17 lmmfao. I'm dead. Not like body bag dead tho
Ryan! New full gym program!
This is an all-time fitness series. Incredibly valuable information, thanks so much
Thank you Ryan.
Dude I like this. Legit. 2 videos I would like to see: Lower abs and lower lat. Those are mean to target
So right on dips...they feel different everytime i do them. I think it has to do with other parts of the kinetic chain and in what state of freshness they are in. I can't do a consistent dip path for the life of me.
