Salamanca Cousins Origins - Silent But Extremely Lethal Death Cultist Assassins - Better Call Saul

- The meth-addled empire of dramatic perfection that Vince Gilligan has been creating since 2008 has seen its fair share of smooth-talkers come and go. From the machine gun sales pitches of that one arms dealer in Season 3 episode 7 of Breaking Bad, to the ever-ready performances that James McGill puts on as Saul Goodman throughout Better Call Saul, words play an important role in the Gilligan-verse. Even more measured characters like Gus Fring and Mike Ehrmantraut use their words in conjunction with their reserved personas to instill fear into whoever they wish to frighten. But two characters that have made silence their most-fearsome weapon are the enigmatic Salamanca Cousins. Every time you see Leonel and Marco show up with their matching, skull-tipped boots and their flashy suits, you know something diabolical is about to go down; and it is a real testament to your skills as actors if you can endear yourself to an entire fanbase with less than a dozen lines of dialogue across 2 separate TV shows. But who exactly are they? And why are they so feared across Mexico and beyond? We’ll answer all those questions and more in this video; this is The Cousins’ Origins - Explored.

How does the Audio keep getting worse 💀
It's text to speech
Sounds like he’s recording from underneath the superlab
@@aquashorts8552 it’s probably the worst one available, even the movie recap channels have better ones
@@alexismaldonado9707 i cant even watch this one smh
You can always make your own.
The Cousins do seem like the kind of characters who would be more at home fighting The Punisher.
they couldn't even handle hank. frank castle would walk right over them
"no... Too easy"
@@bigkahuna3534 I'm not saying they'd last long, they just seem more like comic book characters. They're like the kind of hitmen that Ma Gnucci hired in "Welcome Back Frank". They would have died along with the rest, but they'd fit in with the likes of "Harry Heck".
They'd get clapped
Saul is the only character who could take The Punisher down.
Vince “Jillian”? 😂
Chi-hooah-hooah and however he pronounced Los Pollos Hermanos too
Say Vince Jillian one more time. I fuckin dare you
😂
For me, the cousins made Lalo more frightening, knowing that along with his intelligence, charisma, & charm, he is directly related to psychotic freaks like them, & Tuco…..(Hector was a typical angry-old-man-gangster)
They always looked like cartoonish villains straight from a Robert Rodriguez movie and I love it. A dose of weird in a usually grounded series.
They are like two squirrels being given a pair of pants but no shoes and asked to file tax returns without the benefit of an urban studies degree.
In my head cannon, the reason they only speak when necessary is because its something they gave up as a religious sacrifice to santa muerte so they can be blessed in their hits
I think they just barley know any English because of they were only able to speak to a doctor in the hospital once they started speaking Spanish in bcs
Interesting
Or they are ASPD
Holy shit just like Tony Sirrico they had real world experience no wonder they were so good. They def intimidated the hell outta me when I first got into breaking bad.
Vince Jillian LMAO
It sounds like Werner Ziegler is narrating this video and it's freaking me out. 💀
Was this recorded in a bathroom stall using Styrofoam cup for a microphone?
I think it's Jimmy trying to warn the Kettlemans.
The Salamancas should have their own show except with a comedic twist.
Good old Hector, just wants to kill everyone, hehe!
These guys feel like they belong in a 90’s action movie
The audio is atrocious. Thank you anyways. Please consider Lydia.
I barely noticed Hector Salamanca is sitting in a wooden wheelchair in the “family is all” scene.
Nice foreshadowing.
I find it hillarious that from all the cast interpreting Mexican cartel guys, besides Lalo Salamanca, these two are the only ones who actually Speak spanish with a Mexican accent. Alas their characters are essentially mute.
That's what always bothered me about BB and BCS. The Mexicans aren't Mexican and they don't really use Mexican slang or anything.
The actors for them are actually Honduran-American but they are native Spanish speakers just like Lalo's actor (his actor is Mexican-American). Eladio's actor was born in Cuba. I think Bolsa's actor is also a native Spanish speaker.
The CIA recruits and trains men like the cousins to do similar stuff for different goals. But for the skull boot tips they manager to blend in perfectly.
Maybe the CIA or the international contracting Agency (the same agency that Agent 47 of the hitman game series works for) trained the Salamanca twin cousins.
Did they tell you this?
Anybody else notice Hector's chair in the flashback was made out of wheels? Dunkin dudes head in the sodas.
They should get their own spin-off the Better call Saul show.
Amazing. The silence is golden.
It was not an axe symbol...it was a scythe symbol...the scythe symbol is a symbol of death.
"Animals :| "
@@jaycuthbert245 what about them?
@@moodyowlproductions4287 I'm quoting gus lol
@@jaycuthbert245 oh right...
Great video,,The cousins and Tuco were the scariest to me.
They both reminds me of Al Neri from The Corleone family. Stoic, skilled, and getting things done.
6:16 didn't look like a accident to me ;)
I hate to complain about something I got for free but the audio was hard to work through.
Great content, though.
I live near the Salinas Valley State Prison. Gilligan nailed it, I looked over my shoulder.
I agree I really like this channel no disrespect. But I can't even finish this.
Wow, what a Marvelous Video indeed! Excellent work! Thank you for the master class on the Salamanca Cousins! It really made my day hearing about Daniel And Luis Moncada's background in life aside from their incredible acting on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, they are AWESOME!
bro what
6:02 does nobody realise he sits in a chair which looks like a wheelchair?
Dude!
They aren't silent, they just went deaf after that car exploded 4 feet behind them.
I love that you went through obvious effort to keep from saying “silent but deadly”
Keep up the good work@
I've really been enjoying the content this channel has been putting out lately, keep up the good work
I have no idea how they pick their narrators.. some of them don’t seem to really know their subject, some of them have weird accents, and this guy now is in his basement recording the audio on his Nokia phone lol
This sounds like it was recorded on a baked potato
I think you've got some real talent; a lot of work to put one of these together.
These characters had fabulous roles; who else inspired so much fear with so few words.
(I hope your audio is going to improve but I subscribed and gave you a like anyway.)
I can’t imagine him being a motivational speaker, not because he is not qualified, it’s because I can’t picture him talking at all because of the show 🤣🤣🤣
I love all the Salamancas. They are great bad guys.
"Accidentally broke his toy"? Lol
IT'S GILLIGAN, NOT, JILLIAN... 😅 Why am I even watching this?!
Funny thing to know. Hector Salamanca (the actor) was Ace Ventura’s landlord. lol
imagine these two have a contract on you and theyre assited by the dude from no country from old men
Loss polos harmonous
hahahahaha hillarious that one of them is a motivational speaker knowing they play such quiet dudes
6:17 Clearly was intentional.
Vince Jillian
Holy shit! I feel like such a jackass! I thought the crawling in the desert was some sort of practice for crossing the border! 🤣
The fact that, soon after, they were in the truck with ppl trying to cross the border solidified my assumption at the time!
I reall love the story of Daniel and Luis themselves
Those cousins scared the shit out of me.
Vince Gillian? WTF?
nice mic man
Breaking bad is one of my favorite shows and thought the twins were badass villains and I felt like they should have been used a lot more... When they try to kill Hank I felt like the twins wouldn't kill Hank that certain way... They wouldn't attack somebody in public.. they would either try to draw them into a small place where they can't run without any witnesses and they wouldn't attack them were Hank was in a car... Remember the guy was a snitch that got a turtle and I think his name was a turtle's name.. well the twins got them in the back of the bar without any witnesses and they beheaded him that's the way I see the twins doing it not in public but that's just my opinion
Achilles94, Your comment is spot on. What gives me the chills is when I think about when Nacho kills himself, just before he puts Bolsas gun to his own head, the camera briefly shows all of those surgical instruments set out in that old beat up house. I couldn't help but to think that if Nacho had not done himself in first, just what those Salamanca cousins would have done to him with all of those surgical instruments...
@@dufusbug I 100% agree
I disagree. They meant to send a message, a challenge. No one can be safe anywhere if they take one of theirs.
It just didn't work out because of plot armor. C'mon, one loose cartridge? What are the odds?
Good point. The parking lot in broad daylight did seem like an odd choice for these pro hitmen. I mean, they was no reason they would be in a hurry to get Hank. The damage had already been done. And given the DEAs rep in Mexico for getting payback re Kiki Camarena (not sure if this fits with the timeline) , they seemed needlessly reckless which they hadn't really been up to that point.
@@mbryson2899 yeah and it happened to be .45 hollow point despite the gun runner having no clue that the cousins were packing 1911s. Very coincidental. But whatever.
6:16 "accidentally"
Nice
They’re like 2/3 of the Mexican Hanson brothers. Too bad they never went North to play old time hockey.
Piss on old time hockey.
Frank Schrader?
Wow! Their story is really inspiring. 💖
What?:D Inspiring you to do what exactly?:D Become a cartel hitman?😂
Oh I hadn't watched the whole video yet when I commented that😅😂
@@-AxisA- pretty sure he's talking about the actors real life story
Dopeness
Ah, so they’re At-asins, and not assassins, now it makes sense
These guys scared me and I wasn’t even on the show,
Vince Gilligan!!!! Not Jillian!!! Juarez Cartel not Varez! Learn to speak English and pronounce Spanish.
The Pitbull twins
They were crawling along the ground towards something when we met those brothers.
It's Vince GILLIGAN, not Gillian...dummy!
I always found them so goddamn edgy that I couldnt really take them serious. i thought they were portrayed like an exaggerated parody of badass characters.
I agree, I love BCS but their scenes with Nacho were just too much lol
they were pretty scary in bb but in bcs i think they made them into terminators which i dont rlly like its too far fetched
I agree with your appraisal there, in the grounded breaking bad series their gimmicky chrome ax and silent crawler schtick is pretty WWE
0:52
Subtitile: "Gus Spring and Mike Airman Trot"
Who do you pronounce "Juan" as "Hugh-Ahn" ?
6:02 See what kind of chair Hector is sitting at, the must've done that on purpose.
I always called them "The Angels of Death"
Is this guy talking on his iPhone wired headphones?
Fascinating subject matter but gawdawful sound quality. Bailed at 1:19.
The only thing i remember one of them saying was when they told gus don bolsa told them to stay away from hank schrader bc he is dea
Hombre on the right has a Beretta CX4 storm! I have one
They scared me on that show
It's Gill-i-gan, geeeez
La Familia Es Todo...
Anyone here old enough to recognize the Blockheads from Gumby? Lethal, silent, evil twins who wreak havoc and communicate solely through nods....
Not old enough but I know them
The twins are like silent fart… silent but deadly.
This feels illegal
Marvelous videos yes, audio, not so much…
Vince Jillian😁
Did you just call Tuco Tuscos??!
I love Mike
the audio sounds all messed up
They're brothers, not cousins. They're Tuco's cousins.
vince jillian
Familia es Todo. Until you make them mad.
I used to know someone who was just like the twins
They were also the twins in Matrix 2
These guy got style.🪓😎
This man recorded this in a cave
They were such a goofy pair
At least they weren't shoving folks into Palo pots. Sticks are cool and all but making soup of people is crossing a line of some sort. It's not right.
"CHEE-HOOAH-HOOAH" ....
Pay for a dude that can actually say the name of the producer right...
is Marvelous Videos an AI narrator? the pronunciation of “Los Pollos Hermanos” and “Tuco” seemed robotic
I would love to watch but the audio and accent are hard to follow.
Jillyan
I thought that was like the Virgin of Guadalupe or something
The baldies
Vince Jillian?
