- In this episode, we follow Gus Fring through the Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad series' while evaluating his actions against Robert Greene's 48 Laws of Power, from building the lab and his crew, to his conflicts with Hector Salamanca, Lalo Salamanca, Walter White and the cartel
I love Hector's actor, he could radiate so much expression with no dialogue and only physical acting🤌
110%
He will definitely be missed. 🙏
Disagree, found him rather ridiculous.
@@nikolasmaes99 The character itself was written as an extremely ridiculous man, though, one whom has literally lethal machismo, which said lethality of it only being aimed back at himself, his family and his allies at the level of the criminal game he's at for most of the show
@@nikolasmaes99Only so much you can do while being disabled 😂
Gus Fring’s biggest mistake? Not following the most important rule of power: have plot armor.
rule 49, the most important one
It was activated that one time when he fought against Lalo. Unfortunately, it could only be used once.
@@nont18411Haha almost agreed but if I remember correctly the set up for Gus using that gun against Lalo was shown way before his events with Lalo so it didn't feel like plot armor
He had the biggest plot armor in better call saul 😂
@@michaeljordan8859 he is Gus Front afterall. Only Heisenberg can break his plot armor😂
We still need bob the builder laws of power
Well, you do forget that his story is about revenge. So it's not really out of character.
That's right. He wanted Hector to live out the rest of his days in misery, having lost everything and everyone he loves. Not out of character at all.
lol was expecting a Machiavellian Monday with this character but I’m down for the 48 Laws Power. 👍🏻
Sun Tzu once muttered, 'He who thinks he can conquer all with a bald head and an elaborate drug empire should also consider investing in a decent life insurance policy.
Love the analysis it showed how Gus’s character dynamic is able to use these laws and adapt based on the situations he is in. Please do more on characters like Lalo and Walter white.
Can you please do a show about how the cars symbolize the characters throughout the whole show. It's the biggest running theme through the whole BB/BCS universe, and no one mentions it.
let’s go. needed this
Better Call Saul did an incredible job when they had Gus Fring carrying a handgun after he found out that Lalo was not dead. Gus was a man who hired men with guns, not a man who had to use guns. This literary TV show portrayed the discomfort of this vengeful drug kingpin very well. I can't imagine a writer conveying this better in prose.
this was awesome!
Great work as usual BWs. As an avid fan of both BB & BCS, I feel that Gus is, if you take away the boxcutter, a zero with shoe's.
You mean he embodied law 48 to perfection.
Great video. Loved the format. Please give us more like this!
You should do a 48 laws of power analysis of Nacho Varga from BCS. He underplays his hand the whole series.
Lots of great editing in this one!
Great work!
Excellent one !
How does it feel knowing that I'm the first person to watch and comment on this video? Btw could you make episodes about game of thrones?
yeah but on the books, 'How Macheivallian is Stannis Baratheon?'
@@CheeseCrumbs00 Stannis was extremely just and honest so I'm not sure if he'd be that good of a candidate. I was thinking more of somone like Tywin or Littlefinger.
Fantastic concept
I like the new video format. I hope to see more of these videos analyzing which laws of power are embodied or defied by certain pop culture characters like this.
I liked the new format!
Great video brotha👍🏾
How this make only 395 views, th8s channel is soo good
I love these. ❤
One ur best ones yet, One of my favorites next to Ralphie
Interesting video! Gus almost won but his main weakness was his revenge for Hector. The reason he kept Hector alive was because of his vendetta against him for the killing of Max. It the only thing personal to Gus while everything else was strictly business.
@Bully Whispers Have you ever checked out Gamorra The Series about the Camorra mob families in Naples, Italy? Not only is it one of the best all time mafia/crime dramas on cable or in cinemas, it'd give you years worth of content fodder with how you've set up your channel.
🤔I guess the only problem would be if enough other people had seen it
Id have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
HELL YEA
The 48 Laws of Power remind me of Zote the Mighty's rambling from _Hollow Knight_ .
Bully Whispers ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great vídeo idea, can you do a Thomas Shelby too???
I’m genuinely confused why you think his prime motivation is to be the drug kingpin this is definitely a goal of his but his primary goal has always been blood for blood.
Speaking of Laws of Power, would you make a series of it with the Breaking Bad Universe and more from The Wire. I find it interesting how it is displayed in these different shows.
Hope your well, miss your videos
Could you analyze Saul either through the 48 laws of power again or you could analyze him through the prince.
Well now we really need one on Lalo Salamanca: how their strategies differ, and plot armor a part why Gus won ?
mouth to mouth resuscitation is not used anymore. it's more effective not to give the, "rescue breaths" anymore. that's my PSA for today. :)
I'm sure Walter White violated several of these laws...
its a movie, a tv progrum
Gus is self-reliant more than anything.
gus is the one who caused hectors stroke
Could you make an episode on Griffith from Berserk?
How Machiavellan was Adebisi from Oz?
My guess, using the only available hints and tying them in to actual history- Gustavo Fring , “El Generalissimo” was a member of General Augusto Pinochets’ intelligence/ security police during the time of Chilean Military Junta. They were linked to and used ex SS officers who fled to South America after ‘45 . Colonia Dignidad was a training centre for the Chilean Secret Police who were instructed by ex Gestapo/ SS /SD . This may explain the connection with Ziegler..having to leave Chile after everything came crashing down for Pinochet and whatever happened in Santiago which again is hinted at . The way he holds himself, his use of psychological warfare..it’s all there. The Junta were nasty people irl and you can read about their horrific reign and they would have had many many Gustavo Frings. Fring is possibly an alias as the DEA could not trace him.
When is Law 26 for sopranos coming out ?
Never
wow, thats weird, 48 laws & 48 comments.... I hear X-files muzak..
Great video as always! Your vids deserve minimum an extra digit of views. I would def watch shorts as well as a random fyi.
Gus wanted to Kill Hector because Hector killed Maximino. To suggest any other reason shows you don't know what TF you're talking about
first
Loved it, but got lost a couple of times with all the pronouns🙄/🤓
