Thank you all SO much for believing in our farm & our channel. You guys bring so much joy to me
That ginger looks amazing! Hearing him say it can grow in Maine is very encouraging, I’m hoping to plant it next summer.
My ginger plant produced open flowers this year and I had no idea what they were 😅 at first I thought it was an acorn 😂 great job on ginger
Tried ginger in pots this year, but didn’t get more than one green skinny stalk. I have a tiny greenhouse that may house ginger plants next year thanks to the inspiration I took from this video. Love the collaboration!!
I ordered two bottles! Yay! I was intensely watching this video. Enjoyed the process so much. I have ginger that I’ve grown for the first time and needed to know when to harvest (now!) and what to do with it. Mine will be a tiny fraction of your amount because I only have about six plants but I’m so excited. I loved watching Shauns face. As an older mother, I could tell he wanted to take off and do a happy dance. His eyes just sparkled. Melonie was more reserved but so beautiful and hard working! And side note girl, I love your nails! You young people are such a joy. In the prime of your lives and flying high. Make beautiful memories together.👩🌾💛🙏💙
Thank you for all your kind words ❤
@@WhisperingWillowFarm you are so welcome sweet one. God bless you and Nathan.
Wow, beautiful comments! How wonderful to hear someone being kind and praising someone else’s hard work. God bless you.
@@patcox8745 I hope always to be kind and supportive. I do a lot of the homestead things myself like gardening, quilting, preserving, etc so I know the hard work that goes into it. God gave me a special love for younger women thru a hard critical trial I went thru when I was a young woman myself. My lesson I learned was how to never make someone feel bad about themselves just for who they are. I’ll always be their biggest cheerleader. Bless you for your kindness and gentle words Pat, It touched my heart.
Jill, I just love the direction your channel is going in!
Baby ginger is the best ginger for Pickled Ginger (usually served alongside sushi) I love doing up a huge jar for my fridge when it's fresh.
So interesting! Thanks.
Thank you so so much for the information.
Amazing vlog Jill 💗 I have learned so much 🌸🦋🌸
Thank you for all this information! I love your syrup so much that I decided to grow ginger this year 2023.
That is good news. I hope you have a successful growing season
Oh gosh so helpful was completely gonna plant mine in full sun next year
Very interesting
Awesome video…..ginger is something new to me….. sooo interesting!
I am SO inspired to try a container of Ginger now! This is AMAZING and I am so impressed!
I love the example of farming in community here.
YOUR SHOES ARE TO DIE FOR JILL !!!!
Can't wait for my Syrup!❤
That is AWESOME! We are 100% going to try growing it next spring!!!
You got this 😉
Yasssss! It has come! Jill tell Nathan you need a Walipini greenhouse, your team could grow literally year around. Plus now you have the space!
You Inspired me! I have 11 pots of ginger growing in my greenhouse, and knowing how to grow it and how to find a market is a part of Hubby and my retirement plan. We’re planning to grow as many our own veggies & fruits as possible AND grow seasonal cash crops, of which ginger is one. So I’m learning with these pots, and when I’ve learned what I need to know I’m reserving 16 -20 feet of my greenhouse beds for ginger every year.
I’m so glad to hear this, thank you
Wow. Well done🤗🇨🇦
I’m in SoCal and threw in what my neighbor gave me. No thought of where. And didn’t even realize until last February what it was. Now it’s all flowered!!
Great video, very informative. I'm in zone 3 but I'm going to give ginger a go next spring. I do believe I will have to start it inside under a grow light as we only have 90 frost free days.
nice
I love growing my own Ginger I even grow Turmeric ❤️❤️Pine Cone Ginger I love Butterfly Ginger is my Favorite
Wow!!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to buy homemade elderberry syrup. I ordered two bottles and plan to give one to my son as a Christmas gift. He is a dietitian, and as such, is very into holistic approaches. I am very excited to receive this. Thank you again!!
Wow I am amazed with all that ginger you didn't get flowers. I planted a small piece in a little shadow box. The stalks never grew very tall but I did get flowers. And I mean to tell ya ... That l shadow box was packed with ginger root. So I pulled it all out. And a couple months later I had five new plants growing back in that box. I must have left some really small pieces behind , idk as I thought I harvested all of it. This is a very prolific plant. I just broke off a small piece from one at the grocery store and now it seems I have lifetime ginger😁. So very cool 😎. Your plants are gorgeous. So tall and lush.
This is a very informative video log on growing ginger thank you so much for doing this💜🌻💜
Wow! I had never seen how ginger is grown. I may have to try that. Awesome video.
Pre-order placed! I am beyond excited for this Elderberry syrup!!
Thank you ❤ It tastes really good and so beneficial

Awesome vlog!!! LOVE learning something new! Thank you!!!!
Sweet ginger syrup, tea and lots more. Thanks. Learnt alot. Great job you all are doing. Cheers!
Preordered!!!
Wow 🤩 what a harvest! I think I can find some room to grow ginger in our small space next year. Placing my pre-order now cause i just ran out of elderberry syrup and why not support two farms at once! I knew there was a reason I added stickers to my cart yesterday and didn’t check out!! 😁 MOTHER LOAD
Thank you ❤
This was so fascinating to see how well the ginger grew! Well done video! Just ordered my Elderberry Syrup and some more stickers!
Love what ya'll are doing there Jill, Nathan, Shaun & Melanie on your new Whispering Willow Farm!! It's gorgeous! Love ya all!❤️ 🙌 🙏 🦋
Thank you Mrs. Deb
I’ve never thought of doing this! I’m definitely going to try it!
Yes, I have heard of that, oh I want to grow that!! Blessings to you all!!!
Very interesting; great harvest with nice friends!!! Beverly
This was VERY interesting. I’d never seen ginger harvested! I thought the greenery behind you guys was just beautiful natural plants! I hope you have very good luck with it!
That was a cool video very interesting to see the process all the way through. Keep up the good work and God bless you all
Looking forward to trying the elderberry syrup. I ordered 2 bottles and will try growing ginger next year. Thanks for the inspiration.
Girl you can do it. Let me know if I can help
So cool guys! I am glad I got to order some elderberry syrup!!! Also, your shirt is awesome Jill.
Thanks girl
I like the ginger couple I see they know what they are talking about ... They should have they own CZcams channel .. I'll watch it
The Mindful Farmer
Got my order in!!!❤️❤️❤️ And 8 will definitely grow some ginger next year...
So excited! Preordered two bottles plus my favorite sticker that is now a magnet and the coneflower sticker! May God continue blessing your family. Love your sister in Christ.
Very cool! I hope Melanie gets some help with the many steps of processing. This is a great innovation, and I wish them well!
Beautiful ginger! You can freeze ginger. Easy to grate frozen ginger as need for a dish. Pickle ginger is wonderful too. Dehydrate ginger slices and make ginger powder. Just put the dehydrator outside or in the garbage so you don’t have a strong ginger smell in the house.
Great tips, thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutely the best instruction of how to grow ginger ever. Great job
Great info on growing ginger. Thanks!
I've been waiting forever for this!! 😁
So it looks like a bromeliad when it blooms, that's cool
What a sweet couple! So happy the harvest turned out for their syrup- hope you have great success in your sales :)
Hey Jill
I love that you and Shawn are doing this together and
Making something out of what you have grown, preordered my Elderberry and ginger syrup. Keep up the good work.
That's really interesting. I will try it next year. Thanks for all this informations.
Great video!👍🏻😊
Just preordered a few bottles. Can't wait to try it! I may have to try growing some some ginger in a container this winter. :)
Re-interesting I had never seen a ginger plant didn't know what they look like. Great seeing you. 😊💚
Thank you Jill that was awesome! You rock! That was a really good informative and very educational video I'm so excited. I am going to try and harvest my Ginger than this week it has been getting very cold here in Texas which is colder than we expected. But I am looking forward to harvesting only have two pots of Ginger planted. I will be saving all the leaves to dehydrate to make ginger tea and some of the leaves as well for stir frys, because I know that the ginger leaves are edible. Now I know that they need a sandy soil which all of my Gardens have sand in them for drainage purposes but it also just helps a lot when I weed the gardens. Thank you to your friends as well.... great knowledge
wow very cool. I grow elderberries and I am in the process of planting more. They are native here in Oklahoma, I have both named varieties and found wild varieties. Now I have to add ginger to my plan...
This was a great video. I learned so much about ginger.
Hey Jill, Your ginger is Fantabulous .....Wonders of the garden , Oh my...Great show on the ginger ,just loved all the info.Next season I am planting a lot more garlic , I use quit a bit in many different recipes ,I even put some in chicken broth ..lol Be well /stay well to the family
very interesting video! I learned a lot! Thank you very much. 🙂
Brought my plant in before frost and its growing high and a second one is coming. Lol
Will love to try growing ginger this summer! Great video.
Very informative video crew! I’m up in New England and grow ginger in a shallow clay pot inside. Maybe I get about a pound, hahaha. Do what you can with what you’ve got, and appreciate the heck out of it! Cheers
I LOVE ginger. Has anyone here grown ginger in New England? specifically Maine?
That’s a ton of ginger!
Just preordered you syrup.
Thank you
Just an idea. This year was my first year to harvest horseradish. We used a powerwasher to clean it. We didn't have to even peel it. Not sure if that would work with giner? Just a idea. Thank you for what you do! God bless your family.
Have you ever tried juicing your ginger? We make ice ice cubes for use in ginger drinks!!!
Great idea, thanks for sharing ❤
Turmeric is another great raised bed crop! Erin at The Impatient Gardenergrew turmeric this year and it's impressive.
Kroger is literally my go to for "organic living" seeds! I could send a snap shot of my turmeric tubers that I am fixing a container for right now. And my closest Kroger is an hour away across state lines, but it's worth every inch. I can't hardly wait to see how my harvest of white "sweet potatoes" (not as sweet/more for just a healthier version of "white potatoes") yields. I hope enough! ❤😇
Now y'all should try your hand at growing turmeric! It's just as awesome and healthy. My arthritis and bursitis pain doesn't stand a chance, with turmeric on the job killing inflammation and if I grow enough I have found that it will even help dull the stinging pain of "INFLATION" for me and whoever wants it! Win, win! 😉👍🇺🇲
Great job and God bless.
Nate takes Tumeric pills daily. I may have to try that
Oh I wanted to order it but adding $10 for shipping made it too expensive. Great video!
The weight and the fact that it's liquid makes shipping more expensive. Plus all carriers just went up on their rates
Does Melanie have a CZcams channel? If not she should. Especially if she has any other herbal remedies.
She does not but we need to encourage her to make some videos on Mindful Farmer AR channel
Thank you so much for this video. I am trying to grow ginger. I was given a large turmeric plant. It bloomed three blooms. I re- potted this fall and brought inside. Would you do a post about turmeric?
When do you place the ginger in the water to start the rooting process? I'm in 7A and container garden and would love to try to grow ginger next spring.
Wow that was so interesting. I am trying now to grow ginger the last 4 month nothing happened yet but when I have tried to pull it out ( I thouhgt is dead) is not moving so I am assuming has roots. One thing you guys did not show out of all those ginger do you keep one to restars? Or do you have to buy a new "starter". So I mean can you use the young ginger to restart if you leave it in the ground?🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Thank you
Great question. Yes you can save some to plant next season
@@WhisperingWillowFarm Thank you so much. So are you going to keep some in for repotting?🙂😉
Well, to be honest, I hate ginger but I may grow some because it is very pretty and i can give it to the neighbors or my weird son in law probably likes it. Thank you. 💘 🙏
😂😂
I would love to order, but I don't have a link. I have been watching your videos for quite some time. Thanks for the info.💖
Omg 92lbs I'd be in heaven...if you can grow that much in one corner like that you can sell to badia...
Thank you for the wonderful detailed growing video! This season was my first time planting and getting a ginger yield. My question - if I were to freeze some of this ginger, can I still use it for planting next spring?
Great question. You should ask Sean @ Mindful Farmer AR
Ginger is grown here in Queensland out in the fields. So it's in full sun.
I bet those fields are beautiful 😍
@@WhisperingWillowFarm the fields are on the hills and you can see some of them from the main highway in Queensland. The biggest producer is called Buderim Ginger and they have a web page called Ginger Journey if you want to check it out. They have a factory and tourist park behind the Sunshine Coast.
Thanks for sharing, I'll check them out
American elderberry has a very low cyanide compound compared to European.
I live about 45 minutes from quitman but go there to visit my sister. Where can I buy the elderberry syrup local ?
Great question. Check out
czcams.com/channels/PdO6eNiJn77hB7RdGnBNgA.html
Will you ship to Canada?
We aren't shipping to Canada as of now
Ok this was sooooo cool! I have some questions, for anyone with experience... I tried both ginger and turmeric and the turmeric went way better than my ginger! I am guessing the processing for turmeric is pretty much the same? BUT, I missed digging before the frost and I'm hoping I didn't ruin my turmeric, I dug and it looks amazing so any thoughts on the fact that i dug after frost? Thanks, Kristy in the southern Missouri Ozarks (30 miles from Mtn Home :)
How can I get a start of your ginger? I try and use a lot of ginger, and I’ve tried to grow it several times from that that I get in the grocery store. I’ve had zero luck. Getting organic ginger in this area, I have not seen any.
I have pine cone lily ginger plants. Are they edible?
Hey Jill, amazing video and I’m very encouraged to start my own ginger! We use it so much in our family lunches, dinners, and ginger shots!
I do have a question for you because I’m a little confused and would love clarification about why it’s called elder berry syrup…
My bf is Native American and he was telling me that the elderberry syrup he knows of actually comes from elderberries. Is ginger just one of the ingredients that will be added?
Great question. Ginger is one of the key ingredients but Elderberry is definitely the star of the show
Can you save any of the baby ginger to plant next year? An if so how?
Yes you can just let it dry and store until next year
How long does the syrup last in the fridge? 🥰
At least a year
Omg I have tried to grow ginger for so many years, what was your secert
Everything grows better in the high tunnel but lots of moisture is the key
Could you use a cactus type of soil?
Great question. You should ask Sean @ Mindful Farmer AR
If you freeze it whole how long does it last in the freezer?
Great question. As long as it doesn't get freezer burned it will be fine
I need sugar free elderberry syrup. Can not have honey
Will you ship it to Canada? I can't enter the address on the forms.
We aren't shipping to Canada at the moment
Where can I buy your elderberry syrup
www.thewhisperingwillowfarm.com/product-page/mindful-kitchen-elderberry-syrup
I am on different medicine, should we check with our pharmacist for any interaction?
Great question. It probably wouldn't hurt to check but I bet you will be fine
Is the pre-order closed already?? The website says Out of Stock :(
