Her video and cover of this song was THE defining sound of the long Covid lockdown for me. That final scene of her singing to an empty Wembley Arena still makes me cry.....
That unimaginable psychological and physical terror should never be forgotten and the creators of such horror should be prosecuted ASAP. It was a crime against humanity.
A company next door to work does stage lighting for venues like Wembley. At the time you really wondered if there was any future for them (both venues and company).
I was an avid fan of the Kitchen Discos during the Lockdown period. In November, I had an operation & as I was coming to afterwards, Crying at the Discotheque was playing in my head. Watching the repeats of the kitchen discos was definitely instrumental in my recovery and keeping my sanity during the Lockdown!
@@s_____3913 They are similar! Similar music, but different lyrics... and that means it's not a cover from Spacer! A cover must have the same notes and lyrics...
you are a pride of mother and a beautiful woman with a unique and glamorous voice among all the singers I listen to beautiful those children haha I'm from Neuquen, southern Argentina
The original is the Swedish group Alcazars song. Alcazar just sampled the intro of Sheilas song. Sophie has used Alcazars lyrics and music. Its not a cover if you just use a sample and change the rest of the lyrics and music.
Wrong! A cover is a song who uses the the lyrics and music of the original song and Alcazar who wrote the original text just sampled the intro of Spacer.
Esto me ayudó a sobrevivir la pandemia y soportar un trabajo en el que lo estaba pasando muy mal. Programaba la alarma para ver sus Lives en Instagram ❤ Me volví más fan después de esto.
One of the most Underrated Singers that ever lived.
Totally agree with you. Don't know why she isn't more famous around the world!
Absolutely 💯
Legs to die for

When I saw this with her voice combined with Alcazar it was so 2001 that I nearly travelled back in time. A cover that really works.

The original is from 1979 Spacer from Sheila
@@leekorn3796No, its the Swedish group Alcazar who came up with this song. They just sampled the intro of Sheilas song.
Props to Sofie and the backing band who all do an excellent job covering this Alcazar track.
Wow, amazing performance! Truly felt like I was transported to a disco dimension.

The original (1979) Sheila - Spacer . Composed by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.
The original is the Swedish group Alcazars song. Alcazar just sampled the intro of Sheilas song. Sophie has used Alcazars lyrics and music. Its not a cover if you just use a sample and change the rest of the lyrics and music.
Hermosa!
Very goooooood ❤

That woman has kept in great shape even though she got a bit older and had a bunch of kids.
I enjoy Sophie's performance more than the original
More than Sheila B? Really?

How am I just learning about this?
Top Singer Top Song (I also like her mother)
Love 🔥🎉
Nice tribute to Alcazar
She sings well ,and furthermore She so pretty .
Classy, elegant, feminine and so sexy. A model to future generations.
Fab
She is a Michelangelo artwork. And she still rocks!
She deserves to be more famous than she is!
Goddess
Sophie !!! С Новым Годом , Солнышко !!! :)
Wonder what her & Agnetha could do musically if they were to collaborate...I would think it could be magic...
Eurovision 2024 brought me here 🎉
Красотка!
😍😍😍😍😍
Original sound...Shelia and Devotion...song Spacer
*SHE'S SPECTACULAR BUT THE LEGS THO
And of course a cover of cover on Sheila & B. Devotion - Spacer.
Correct and the original written and produced by Chic
Wrong! A cover is a song who uses the the lyrics and music of the original song and Alcazar who wrote the original text just sampled the intro of Spacer.

The Legs

Wow the legs, shark man is a lucky boy 😎
très belle reprise sans la dénaturé
Bad boys police
Who cares if she doesn't know how to dance? Look at those legs!!
Its that kinda classy movement thing in think. Lady like.
Who gets the relevance of the animal heads?
Nope?
@@PK-nq6lv Hi Rob, I'm glad you knew as well as me, I bet most people wondered what the hell was going on with the animal heads.
@@PK-nq6lv Thanks, ah yes when she done her lockdown kitchen vids the kids often had animal heads on.
I thought it was a reference to her being on the masked singer last week lol
Me 🙋🏻♀️ from the video to Alcazar’s version of the song from 2000
Jamie Dornan is there
Is
it me or does Sophie look quite a bit like Madonna ?
Who?
I also think she really looks like Madonna here!
You still need to team up with jk
Ora pretendo che la ragazza di Zeb faccia una cover di "Crying for the Postepay!"
Sounds a lot like a Chic song.
Is it just me or does she look like a younger Madonna in this?
Very very much so. Quite striking.
Why are the band members dressed as animals?
Check original Alcazar -Crying at the Discotheque. It's just a reference
It was either this or another baby so..................
Playback music, not voice
Original was 100 times better
Not for me. it was boring. I prefer Alcazar for sure
