Sheila is the French singer, not to be confused with Sheila E, the protégée of Prince.
The genius of Nile Rodgers. That rhythm guitar part is just SO right and in the pocket; the backbone of the song and the main hook.

I saw you crying
I saw you crying at the discoteque
Songwriters: RODGERS, NILE GREGORY / BARD, ALEXANDER / WOLLBECK, ANDERS / GOULOS, MICHAEL / EDWARDS, BERNARD / HANSSON, ANDERS
Tonight's the night at the danceteria
The joining of the tribe
The speakers blasting clear and loud
The way you dance is our criteria
The DJ takes you high
Let tears of joy baptize the crowd
PERFECT!!
Thanks!
That's a lot of writers for such a simple song.
@KeldorDAntrell Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards wrote the original song which is called spacer and the other wrote their own lyrics for crying in the discotheque

Absolutely great song! I don't know how I missed the debut of this one, but I thought it came out in 2023. Lifts my spirits and animates me. Every. Single. Time.
I absolutely love that the camera man is in such heavy contemplation when he says, "The passion of the groove. Generation on the move." It's brilliant f*cking satire.
Damn so underrated.
With awesome like thise I grew up with.
Just heard Spacer by Sheila B Devotion on the 📻 and had to come here for another dose of Alcazar
I was so happy to see this at Eurovision
Haven't heard this song in years since I was like 10.. Who would have guessed I'd be a huge Disco fan 10 years later.
I haven't heard this since I was like 10-11 years old..
That's some years ago
I came to remember the name of this song while watching some of Disco Heat's videos
same!!!

Still a big disco fan
Oh, the early 2000's, great times
Love this and the SHEILA B. DEVOTION ORIGINAL.
The amount of likes and comments to remind ourselves how banging this song was 👍👍 and yes we all come here after watching the Eurovision 2024 (22:33pm BST Saturday 11th May 2024 as I write this comment).
Nothing beats old music from pop, trance and ect all types of music were better back in those days.
peoples was better too
Lyrics:
Downtown's been caught by the hysteria
People scream and shout
A generation's on the move
When disco spreads like bacteria
These lonely days are out
Welcome the passion of the groove
The golden years
The silver tears
You wore a tie like Richard Gere
I want to get down
You spin me around
I stand on the borderline
Crying at the discoteque
Crying at the discoteque
I saw you crying
I saw you crying at the discoteque
I saw you crying
I saw you crying at the discoteque
Tonight's the night at the danceteria
The joining of the tribe
The speakers blasting clear and loud
The way you dance is our criteria
The DJ takes you high
Let tears of joy baptize the crowd
The golden years
The silver tears
You wore a tie like Richard Gere
I want to get down
You spin me around
I stand on the borderline
Crying at the discoteque

I saw you crying
I saw you crying at the discoteque
I saw you crying

Como me gustaba y me gusta esta canción, me trae muy buenos recuerdos.... 😢😅
A mi también, me hizo recordar tiempos mejores. Temazo del 2001 ❤
petition to get a new album from alcazar
Le preguntaré a mi madre si esta canción también llegó a bailarla en la disco.
La acabo de encontrar y cuando la escuché me dió las mismas vibras a el tipo de música que ella solía bailar.
The horse mask was already a hit back then! XD
Bojack horseman!! :D
SEASON 3 ! !
Isn't that more like a giraffe?
Yeah at all the festivals they were
Deliciously camp... Reminds me off happy times. Being with my Czech boyfriend and his friends at a straight Czech disco getting drunk on cheap beer. Knowing how much I loved this track Dusan got the DJ to play it dedicating it to me. Yep straight up on the dance floor we all got and it all became so camp. Sadly Dusan died very young but this song always makes me smile thinking about him and the life we should have shared. God bless you Dusan XXX 🍻🍻💞
@Paul Matson were definitely great times! hehe! R.I.P to ur Friend!
From Eurovision but always loved this track 🎉
This video is a masterpiece.
I am crying because there is no discotheque 😭 Masterpiece!
Hope soon 😊
