  • Thinking about moving to Lower Alabama? You might want to reconsider due to several factors. The region is notorious for its abundance of bugs, including mosquitoes and other pests that thrive in the humid climate. Additionally, the aggressive college football culture is intense, with passionate fans dominating social scenes. The conservative lifestyle and strong religious presence can be challenging for those with more liberal or progressive views. Lastly, the area's deep-rooted support for the Second Amendment means that gun ownership is widespread, which may not align with everyone's comfort level. These factors combined make Lower Alabama a unique place that may not be for everyone.

You did an excellent job of honestly highlighting the cons of moving to the South. The cons are very real, but there are so many pros that outweigh the cons (as you have highlighted in many other videos.). Thank you for continuing to post informative information about Baldwin County, AL. I have lived in Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi for most of my adult life, but had to live the past several years out West. Now I am looking forward to returning home to the South and am looking at the Baldwin County area. One thing I am noticing in almost all of your videos is the lack of rain gutters on new construction homes. Does the area have any construction companies that put rain gutters on new construction homes? Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, you can have the builder add gutters, it's just not the norm. If you have more questions just let us know!! 😁

I honestly think you're exaggerating on a lot of these things. Where I live in Foley, they spray the streets for mosquitoes, so we rarely see them. If you have a house that doesn't have a lot of trees around, you will rarely see palmetto bugs. Also I wouldn't say it's hot and humid for most of the year. It's typically perfect, with the exception of like june, july august, and some septembers. This year has just been unseasonably humid and hot in the 90s. It's definitely way less humid then the midwest. And we do get winter, it gets really cold here and freezes. We had several days under 32 degrees this last year.
We are normally in the low to mid 80s all summer long. But I guess it depends on how close you are to the water... You get a lot more breeze, the closer you are.

@@juliaanne451 thanks so much for watching! We personally love all these things, that's why we choose to live here 😊 but we like to let people know what we have without sugarcoating it.
