School Forces Little Girl To Take Off Pro-2A Hat

  • A little girl was forced to remove her pro-2A hat on "Wear a hat day" at her school. The principal & teacher cited concerns about violence and disruption.
    The principal and a behavioral specialist weighed in again, saying the hat's message could be seen as threatening, especially in a gun-free zone, and that they need" to maintain a kind and non-confrontational environment for students, some of whom had transferred from a district that had experienced a school shooting the previous year."
    The little girl's dad didn't like what the school did and filed a lawsuit, saying it was a free speech issue. But the judge backed the school, saying they can set rules to keep things smooth.
    I'm positive that if that little kid came to school wearing a "Ban All Guns" hat or a "Abolish the Second Amendment" hat, they would have no problem with it because our current education system seems to be an indoctrination camp.
    What do you think this is teaching these kids?
    It's definitely not teaching them to be free thinkers. They're clearly not teaching them the Constitution

      The amount of times I’ve been pulled aside in middle and high school for simply drawing tanks and airplanes is absurd. I’ve almost been suspended over it. it’s my motherfucking notebook. This wasn’t even the one I meant to take notes in. This was just straight up one meant for drawing. And I wasn’t even taking up class time to draw. This was just during break times. Yet our school did absolutely fucking nothing about bullying or suicide or kids getting hit on the street and taking over a year to build a fucking stoplight. I’m an 80’s kid and I remember seeing guns on truck racks all the time. My elementary school was pretty old, and I remember gun racks still being in the coat room, and after asking my dad why the racks were there, he told me that lots of kids used to carry rifles to school back in the 50’s and prior, but they had to keep them in the coat room.

    Maybe it was just a hat the dad had, or maybe it's values she took from her household and upbringing, I wouldn't have had a hat like that, my dad didn't believe in gun rights, but I, even as a 6 year old (and the time frame is clear because I remember having this thought in my first house and at 7 I moved to another one), I had pro gun rights thoughts in the form of "Well, if a thief tried to enter my house with a gun, I'd like to have a gun too", I remember asking something about it to my dad and he must have give me a bland non-answer.
    Also I am Argentinian, so belief in gun ownership is pretty much a personal value, I've butted heads with my entire family at the dinner table and stood my ground, it taught me to debate from a minority position and give unwavering defense for what I truly believe in which has served me greatly.

    The school and the judge have their head where the sun don't shine! The hypocrisy is strong because it's not about the hat being "offensive," or "confrontational," simply because someone wearing an anti 2A hat, I would find offensive and potentially confrontational, but the school would be fine with that. Or perhaps something less controversial like a kid wearing a hat with a happy clown on it: that could be offensive to another child because they could either have a fear of clowns, or maybe they had a bad experience with one? Point is, they just don't like guns, and I think that judge should be ashamed of himself for agreeing with the school, because he's supposed to be representing the constitution. I know schools are supposed to be a gun free zone, but the girl didn't bring a gun to school, she just wore a hat representing it. It's not like she wore a hat with an active shooter killing people, which is pretty much how they're acting.
    The fact of the matter is, anti 2A people are weak minded, because they're so afraid of what they don't understand and they're not going to understand it due to the excessive propaganda going against 2A. They would literally need their hand held to properly learn about 2A, and even then, a lot would still be against it.
    As far as I'm concerned, every teacher in every school should be armed. Doing that, there wouldn't be a school shooting, and if there was, they wouldn't get far.

    Many schools have had a “no weapons displayed” policy….i always thought it was weird considering they have shop classes with equipment that can harm students…. Emphasis on COULD. Theyre tools, just like hammers and saws.
    Maybe schools should stop creating paranoia about said tools and create an atmosphere of respect for them…

    In 4th grade I went to school in a shirt from our local bull themed restaurant that said "eat, drink, shoot the bull" and my teacher came up to me and demanded I go to the office to get a different shirt because quote (in the most karen styled voice you can imagine) "you could replace shoot the bull with something inappropriate" and when my parents called after I told them the school sided with the teacher resulting in my parents homeschooling me.

    • @BasedHyperborean
      @BasedHyperborean Před 2 měsíci

      Nobody’s first amendment rights were violated. The first amendment protects you from governmental repercussions for speech, not from all repercussions for speech. Your job can tell you to leave if they have a dress code that you choose to break/violate, and so can schools. Girls get suspended or sent home all the time for wearing clothing that’s too revealing, boys get sent home for wearing things that are offensive. This is the same thing.

      The Supreme Court has ruled that students still have their First Amendment rights in school. If this was a public school and therefore a government school with government employees, the school staff had no right to tell her to remove her hat.
