The shit really happens... I was leaving about to go to work about 8 years ago. My wife had just left with my 2-year-old son. It's about 7:30 in the morning as I pull out of my house and up the road. I passed a young kid that just had a look about him. I could tell by the way he was looking back at me in my rear view mirror. My gut feeling was bad. I continued to drive to my business as I was pulling in. I was about to turn around and drive back and check on my house about that time. I got a phone call from a neighbor saying they swear someone just went in to my house through the back window. I drove back to my house super fast slid in the driveway. Ran straight into my house. The front door was open. Quick scan ran upstairs every single drawer every single door and every single thing that was closed was wide open and had been ransacked. Then I realized the dude might still be in the house. As I ran back down stairs. He was ducking out my living room window and ran by the time I got outside. There was a cop that pulled up and tackled him.... Dude was an idiot. He missed everything of value and he took a iPod. Lol. And bank of spare change maybe $35 worth..... Didn't matter. The cop threw him in the back of the car and I lost my shit. Went up to the cop car. Tried to get in and beat the shit out of him. The cop said he would want to do the same to him if it happened to him and his family but he couldn't legally. Let me pull the kid out of the car for a beat down. Long story short, the kid had a long rap sheet of home invasions strong armed robberies car thefts and he was only 17 at the time. If he would have done that in my family was home he would have died. My point is if you don't think it'll happen to you, it can easily happen to you. Believe me. To this day my family does not even know that happened. It would have caused a lot of worry. I chose to keep it to myself and protect my family. Last I checked the kid is in jail for 35 years.
Unfortunately, when she does, she's going to demand MORE gun control.

I envy the naivety of this lady that can afford to live in a good enough area that she doesn’t feel the need to protect herself, that the police are staffed well enough that there’s not a long response time that she can feel that safe not carrying. I don’t have the luxury of that naivety, but good for her. I only hope she never has to let the rubber meet the road and test that safety, because, frankly, I can’t imagine anywhere in my town that I’d feel that safe without my lil 380😂

I think I can say that the huge luck of this lady is the fact that the majority of the civil population of America had the last time seen a major war in first person in 1865. War and danger and tyrannical governments for them are something of the faraway lands, they simply can not imagine what is it like to be in the middle of it. I met a man on a recent business trip who barely escaped the Cambodian killing fields as a child. Governments can turn on their citizens and frequently do. That, and governments frequently fail to protect their citizens: antebellum south, riots, and the simple fact that police man can’t be everywhere all the time. Finally, without fire arms, women will almost always be at a massive disadvantage in any violent confrontation.

Having a gun is like having a fire extinguisher. You hope you never have to use it. In an emergency you use it before the "professionals" get there. And it works better if you practice with it.
This is actually one of the best analogies I’ve ever seen for this. I’m legit going to ask the next anti gun person I see if they’ve ever seen a building burn down in person and when they haven’t (because like 90+% of people haven’t), I’ll ask them what the point of fire extinguishers are then since we have fire departments.

In March of 2020, some of my most anti-gun friends came to me privately, asking how to get a gun, and have now gone back to where they were, seemingly forgetting that little situation. It’s an identity thing, not a practical one.

I was in a pawn shop where a lady came in to pick up a handgun she had put on lay-away. I listened to her talk to the clerk who was taking care of her 4473 and she was buying it for protection because her neighborhood is a extremely bad place. A neighborhood of Phx, Az. She also said that the police aren't allowed to go into that neighborhood unless they are backed up with other police officers due to safety concerns. I know of that neighborhood and it is a very horrible place. I felt sorry for her. The 2A is there for that reason! Thanks Colion!

There was a woman living on a remote Texas ranch who had cartel coyotes trespassing on her porch and trying to break in. She showed them her AR-15 and made it quite clear that she would shoot if the coyotes did break in. Eventually they decided they had more pressing business elsewhere. I don't remember whose channel I read that on.
Wossername shot up the Covenant Church school in Nashville Tennessee, murdering three kids and three adults. It took Metro Nashville PD three minutes to locate, engage, close with, and neutralize the threat. Before that, though, it took them 11 minutes to arrive on-scene. Now, I am not casting one bit of shade on MNPD. Still, it is a fact that it took14 minutes from the time they were summoned to the time they neutralized the threat. 14 minutes under fire is a helluva long time.
I sold firearms to quite a few women when I was still in that business. These three stuck in my mind. One of the three had taken out an order of protection from domestic violence and got a tool to make pellucidly clear that he knew "No" meant "No". One had been grabbed off the sidewalk and graped on two different occasions. And the third had a daughter whose grapist was coming up due for release and her family was dealing with threats and harassment from the grapist's criminal peers.
The second woman was deaf. She told me, "It won't happen again". I believed her. The third said "Two years ago, if I had known you were here, I probably would have been out protesting your existence. Now . . ." and she shuddered. Then she said," Now I thank $DEITY that you are here".
I am my own first responder. I can walk out to the bus stop (on a good day) and see the intersection where a hit and run occurred a couple of years ago. One of the drivers fled the scene and broke into an apartment, then assaulted the resident. And yes I am moving.

We should be allowed to use ANY weapon in a defensive manner, not just guns. They will arrest you if you were carrying wasp-spray to use defensively, or anything else.

As someone who lives in the UK, our biggest mistake was banning guns. Everyday we live in a constant state of fear of being stabbed and then face even more fear of prosecution if we try to defend ourselves. Sometimes I don’t always agree with the stuff that happens across the pond, which is very little, but your right to bear arms and protecting that right is one of the greatest things you’ve ever done.
