Good infrastructure draws tourists to a place & that brings in jobs for locals. Partisan politics must be chucked out of the window when it comes to infra structure development.
The gentleman(Senòr Carlos Slim) whose billion$ backed this infrastructure, has a long history of building various types of infrastructure, where other billionaires and governments fear to tread(invest)! To wit...he is currently investing in Brightline West, which portends linking LA(SoCal) to Las Vegas, NV with a similar modern higher speed train system, as well as building a train network in his native Mexico, which will link Cancùn with other tourist/population centers there and to the west and south. I believe that train network is be called Tren Maya? Excellent video Becky! Without the vision of those like Henry M. Flagler and Carlos Slim, we would be poorer indeed!
