Yeah, one of the most defining monsters in Galar's UU. Most physical mons struggle against the Milotic + Sir Weezing core, but Haxorus's Mold breaker + Lum berry + Swords dance set do not. The new close combat make it a situational check to Mamoswine, the Dragon murderer, as well as being able to counter specially defensive Umbreon. These even can get First impression for revenge kill pokemon like Flygon, Roserade or Gardevoir.

I'm personally a Flash Cannon guy myself because of Hydreigon's higher Special Attack stat but his Attack stat is still good so you can use Iron Tail or Steel Wing if you want.

Yeah, why is Lucario even a Steel type? All it did was grow a spike and apparently that makes it a Steel type. Pfft! I really like Lucario, but I think the Steel type hurts it cuz he gains unnecessary weaknesses to Fire, Ground and its own primary type, all because it has a spike. XD

It's something that can catch players off guard when they wonder why their opponent's Haxorus is hitting a little harder than normal and being able to crush steel types with a resisted Outrage is always funny. Still. Mold Breaker is more reliable overall and generally the better choice.
One thing that always bugs me about Haxorus is how small he is, or rather how not-tall he is. This mon looks like a massive carnivorous dinosaur yet he's barely taller than a human.
Same problem I have with Charizard. Charizard is 5 feet 7 inches tall, and the average human man is 5 feet 9 1/2 inches tall. That’s so strange and disappointing to me.

It's probably because they're both Gen V pokémon, meaning only 3 gens to cover for each (and more recent ones, too), as opposed to 6-7 gens for Gen I-II pokémon (with the older gens also being harder to find accurate competitive information on).
Haxorus and Rampardos made me greatly appreciate Mold Breaker ever since Sturdy received that insufferable buff in Gen 5. Now if only we had a move and/or ability that ignores the opponents' held items...
Used a Haxorus in my Sword nuzlocke. Sure, it killed half my team and had nearly 0 Attack IVs, but it actually helped alot after my many near team wipes.

In my recent Black playthrough I finally got an Axew with decent IVs (the others were terrible)...but it was female and had "rivalry" as an ability. And since I was too tired to go and deal with breeding shenanigans, I just decided to keep it despite most of the pokemon you face being male. Eventually I taught it attract and used it to buy time for Dragon Dances for sweeps. It was VERY USEFUL.

Yeah, I feel that Haxorus, Lucario, and Volcarona deserve to get the pseudo-legendary treatment. They give off a certain mystical/powerful vibe based on their appearance alone.

Just the ability to purely run a physical set is largely crossing the line. Personally it shouldn't even have been a question the Gen 5 Box Legends should never have had such restricted movepools. Among the dragon types Pokemon they literally have some of the worst movepools of all dragon types....
Imagine this.... Iris evolves her Axew to Haxorus and Gible to Garchomp...thats a scary team. Add Dragonite and you got a OP team. But that's not all, Iris kept following Rayquaza to her quest....
Haxorus will be interesting in gen 8 when it finally gets its passport. Scale Shot has become one of my favorite moves in the game, and Haxorus would make amazing use of it.

I remember back in Gen 6 I had a haxorus I used for the express purpose of taking down geomancy xerneus. It had a focus sash and dragon dance, so I was able to get off at least two boosts before one shotting with poison jab. It worked pretty well, but I was only doing casual. Probably would get destroyed in competitive.
Finally, my boy is here!! He was my day one get, and Ive never looked back. I feel like he could have benefitted from a different steel move, but I still rock him to this day.
It's sad when you're favorite Pokemon gets outclassed by other pokemon, yet I'm grateful it was able to do so much. In gen 9 it's finally gotten Iron Head, hopefully that changes everything for our favorite Axe-Jawed Goliath of a Pokemon.
He is so badass! Even defeating pseudo legendaries by having stats in the right place. The pure Dragon typing is just so cool even though I love Salamence and Dragonite so much as well. 🐉
I loved the fact that haxorous was a pure dragon type because it was resistant to so many common typing's with very few weaknesses so it was rather easy to switch, and if I have sticky webs or a tailwind up haxorous was amazingly good.
With an extraordinary attack and decent speed stat like his and his ability mold breaker along with the natural resistances that steel types have Haxorus would be busted in a good way if that was the case like Dialga and Unlike Duraladon would actually be useful kinda hopeful for a Dragon/Steel Mega in the future if it could ever happen.

Haxorus is one of my absolute favorites. In Gen 6 I remember being upset when I found out Rivalry had a downside after it was already high level. But in Gen 7 I was really happy when I figured out I could get it with Island Scan.
Haxorus is one of my favorite pokemon of all time, I love the idea of a giant dinosaur with axes for tusks. Also to make it better I would probably give it a base speed of 100 or 101
I wouldn't mind a series where you analyze a specific tier in a specific game (I.E. OU in Gen 2, RU in Gen 5, etc.) and pick out the highest usage in the tier, common strategies, roles of Pokemon, etc.
Love Haxorus so much. Easily top 3 favorite 5th gen mons for me. Sure he isn’t a psuedo but his design and power sure let him pass off as one at first glance. Always used the him on 5th gen playthroughs

Used a Haxorus in my Sword nuzlocke. Sure, it killed half my team and had nearly 0 Attack IVs, but it actually helped alot after my many near team wipes.

In my recent Black playthrough I finally got an Axew with decent IVs (the others were terrible)...but it was female and had "rivalry" as an ability. And since I was too tired to go and deal with breeding shenanigans, I just decided to keep it despite most of the pokemon you face being male. Eventually I taught it attract and used it to buy time for Dragon Dances for sweeps. It was VERY USEFUL.
Interesting to think how Haxorus actually dropped to RU and has remained RUBL ever since in Gen 8.

@@shudeepta Run a Dragon Dance, Jolly, 252 Speed & Attack Focus Sash set!! Run outrage, Earthquake with moldbreaker, and any other moves of your choice like poison jab or etc, this set works extremely well!!
@@nintendofire622Actually tbf your best bet can sometimes be a SD set that utilizes Scale Shot. Even now in Gen 9 thanks to Loaded Dice

Yeah, I feel that Haxorus, Lucario, and Volcarona deserve to get the pseudo-legendary treatment. They give off a certain mystical/powerful vibe based on their appearance alone.
I mean for bw2 it's more how weak kyurem b is for a box art legend than how weak haxorus is
until it got a good ice stab it would not have had a chance in Ubers when it got dragon dance and Iciclee spear it was a quick ban straight to Ubers

@@xxunoriginal_edgy_namexx859 While it should have arguably been given Ice Punch and Icicle Crash from the Get Go Hell It should have Ice Hammer too since it will need all the help it can get up in UbersSince it is a True Legendary ("box legend") with an attack stat as high as it is Icicle Spear is enough to push it over the edge since the lack of a viable physical ice stab forcing it to go mixed or drop ice moves is one of the things that made it weak enough to be unbanned. Just the ability to purely run a physical set is largely crossing the line.
Personally it shouldn't even have been a question the Gen 5 Box Legends should never have had such restricted movepools. Among the dragon types Pokemon they literally have some of the worst movepools of all dragon types....

Haxorus will be interesting in gen 8 when it finally gets its passport. Scale Shot has become one of my favorite moves in the game, and Haxorus would make amazing use of it.
I'd give Haxorus the Steel Type, give it Iron Head and maybe boost it's speed slightly.
I'd rather give it Steelworker. I can't see it being a full on steel type.

Edit: I just recently replayed White 2, and someone mentioned that Drayden wrestled with his Pokemon to toughen them up.

I remember back in Gen 6 I had a haxorus I used for the express purpose of taking down geomancy xerneus. It had a focus sash and dragon dance, so I was able to get off at least two boosts before one shotting with poison jab.
It worked pretty well, but I was only doing casual. Probably would get destroyed in competitive.
Finally, my boy is here!! He was my day one get, and Ive never looked back. I feel like he could have benefitted from a different steel move, but I still rock him to this day.
Feels like Haxorus is kinda like Megumin, just invested all his points into attack.
It's sad when you're favorite Pokemon gets outclassed by other pokemon, yet I'm grateful it was able to do so much. In gen 9 it's finally gotten Iron Head, hopefully that changes everything for our favorite Axe-Jawed Goliath of a Pokemon.
Never thought there was a use for the pledge moves. Might try that swamp strategy out myself, it sounds really cool.

That Axe Dragon won me the entire Pokemon World Tournament in my Black2.
He is so badass! Even defeating pseudo legendaries by having stats in the right place. The pure Dragon typing is just so cool even though I love Salamence and Dragonite so much as well. 🐉
I loved the fact that haxorous was a pure dragon type because it was resistant to so many common typing's with very few weaknesses so it was rather easy to switch, and if I have sticky webs or a tailwind up haxorous was amazingly good.

With an extraordinary attack and decent speed stat like his and his ability mold breaker along with the natural resistances that steel types have Haxorus would be busted in a good way if that was the case like Dialga and Unlike Duraladon would actually be useful kinda hopeful for a Dragon/Steel Mega in the future if it could ever happen.

@@frankchen4229 either mold breaker or something similar to prism armor if Haxorus ever rightfully gains the move iron head there wouldn’t be any need for no guard unless people want to run a consistent Dragon Rush a move it should’ve been able to learn or Scale Shot Build
Haxorus is one of my absolute favorites. In Gen 6 I remember being upset when I found out Rivalry had a downside after it was already high level. But in Gen 7 I was really happy when I figured out I could get it with Island Scan.

Haxorus is one of my favorite pokemon of all time, I love the idea of a giant dinosaur with axes for tusks. Also to make it better I would probably give it a base speed of 100 or 101
I wouldn't mind a series where you analyze a specific tier in a specific game (I.E. OU in Gen 2, RU in Gen 5, etc.) and pick out the highest usage in the tier, common strategies, roles of Pokemon, etc.

Love Haxorus so much. Easily top 3 favorite 5th gen mons for me. Sure he isn’t a psuedo but his design and power sure let him pass off as one at first glance. Always used the him on 5th gen playthroughs
