as a youth growing this dj was revered he use to live like six yards away from me on the other side in marverly this man use to keep a show across from where the rubis gas station is in the open lot where numerous artiste use to come. u name them SNOW snagga SPRAGGA ROUND HEAD BOUNTY HUNTER( bounty killa) this man was so people oriented u could see him on a sunday playing football with us on stow road or just buying ice cream for a long line of kids his car at the time a ford escort clean where friends use to was it n drive it for joy even the same bernie man always use to be around him capleton use to be in marverly like all the time baby wayne use to walk up and down with this general he was so inspirational always walking pass twisting his locks grooming it. big up panhead

You really knew him well, i had asked him if he would join the marverley police youth club with a few of us from the community and he said yes and he joined we were at meeting's seven days of the week. All would travel to different youth clubs all over Jamaica playing football and racing against those clubs for trophies he was very fast so got a few of them. A wonderful human being and people person so sad the manner in which he died 😢😢. This presentation brought back memories of him and also sadness tear's flowing from my eyes while listening.😢😢😢😢
was a friend of mine too...but on the st mary side, used to mix for him when he used to come and DJ on Delta Force sound on fridays....at one time i had a full 90 minute cassette of him deejayng on the sound, riddim after riddim :( damn that cassette would be GOLD now.....one thing though...im almost sure the night he was killed he was coming from a dance IN MARVERLY, not Spanish Town!
Wow. Really love Panhead. He is really great Artist and a great inspiration, a mentor, and great lyricst to Dancehall Music. In fact, all of these Black messengers liberate Black minds to elevate them self and fight the government for oppression of the Black Race and that we have rights and should be treated like human beings.
Knew Panhead…use to see him at Castro’s (RIP) studio off Hagley Pk Rd…dem days, Mikey Spice, Luciano, Chuckleberry, President, Lady Saw etal use to b dere as Derrick Barnett was one of the engineers …nuff artitistes trying fi dem break..Saw did juss a bubble..use fi drive bout wid her n her sister, called Sista in a white pickup truck Saw drove…anyhoo, nuff reasoning wid those artists went down…Panhead n Luciano were living out Spain Twn way …memba di day mi was leaving fi do a quick jaunt to NY wid an artist mi didda wuk wid….me n Panhead tawked n laffed bout the day weh wud come wen him a get him break n a liff awf ….went bk to yaad di next week n find out him get lick out…mercy…dat yute was SPECIAL..neva heard him raise him voice in any argument n nuff time wen nuff artists flock rung a studio, discussions always a gwane n some wi get loud fi show how passionate dem feel bout di subject at hand..him n Luciano stoodout in many a way….Jah bless his soul in Zion

He was indeed a great artist AND a great person.
If his life was not cut short, he would have been one of those we call icons today. He had everything, voice, lyrics, attitude, looks and charisma plus the respect of all his peers.
The impact of his death followed the murder of DIRTSMAN two months later, did indeed bring in a massive wave of consciousness into Dancehall DJ lyrics. Even Bounty Killer made an anti-gun violence track.
Correction: PANHEAD did NOT release “HUNDREDS of singles”. A few dozen at most.

The story I heard was there was an altercation in a Waterhouse studio, between Pan Head and the studio owner regarding the use of weed. The studio owner felt disrespected and sent two men to end Pan head and make it look like a robbery.
Did he really release a hundred singles? I would have thought 50 is closer to the mark...

I heard the studio owner and him have argument over release of song and he pop off his 🔫 on the studio owner and in Waterhouse you do that and get away with something like that because it would let the studio owner looks weak,so he pay the ultimate price with his life..🤷🏾♂️
Buju knew exactly which producer put the hit on pan head, that’s why buju never recorded for that producer again, one of who killed panhead was from in the lane in Waterhouse he is also dead 💀💀

i was in tears when i heard of his untimely death, because we were a batch of 7 young men started working at a warehouse in kingston free zone in June 1987. we became friends, PanHead and i always DJ for fun, some of the guys would beat the boxes while we took turn to dj, he was also interested in football, he was picked to played the business house league for the company, but lest than a year he was fired, he always coming to work late, and leaving early, and one day the manager catched him smoking weed, that was it for him, but we didn't know at the time that he was so big, until one day i heard a silverHawk cassette tape with him on it, shortly after i met him in downtown kingston ja, he told me that he was at the time a Christian. about a year after that, i heard him on Stone Love, Jammings, but in 1992-1993 was his biggest hits, he always told me to take up the music serious because he thinks i had some good lyrics at the time, but i was very scared because i lot of rising stars were getting killed, and when he was killed that scared me even more because i knew from my experience with him, he was a good you, and that his why i always said that i would not endorse gun songs because it may come back to hurt you. he his sadly missed by all who had known him and worked with him. if it wasn't for your refresh memory i wouldn't aware that it was so long since he had left us.

Pan head and I attended Islington Secondary School, he was fun to be around, he was a playful character and trouble. I miss this youth so much St Mary has turn out some great artists. I remember when he was rob and kill in Kingston. Rest in peace Pan head

We all came from our ancestors who fought back but we all came from different places much like other Caribbean and African American people so we don't always show unity because our ancestors came from all over, this may be why as much as we are Jamaican and should be united, we fuss and fight. 'Panhead' cannot be regarded as an icon, he barely had a hit song to his name. Panhead recorded a song in the 90's for Patrick Roberts on his Shocking Vibes label titled 'African Princess'. On a riddim taken from The Studio 1st archive named 'Full Up'. That to me was his best effort ever, the others were merely sub standards.
Most of the comments that I red on here are declaring him a "great artist", where the vast majority of them are hearing about him for the very first time. That in itself is telling you something isn't it!?.
