Low dosage naltrexone

I was prescribed LDN to balance my antibodies for hashimotos. I am female at age 69yrs. I started on on 5/23/24. I started with .75 mg which is one pill. Took it for 2 weeks, increased it to two pills which is 1.50mg. Today 6/21/24, I'm on my 5th week which is my third pill at 2:25 mg. At this point I have no negative side effects, I do take it at night. I guess the best thing that I noticed with LDN is that I don't get tired. As soon as I get new blood work I will find out how my antibodies have been reduced. I have listened to several CZcams videos from different doctors, amazing what this drug can do for so many health issues. All doctors should be educated on this amazing drug to help patients feel better.
I'm John O'Connell, and my LDN story is featured in Julia's last book for LDN. I am a long time LDN user for Hashimoto's -- now having just past my 10 year anniversary mark for using LDN.
I am very lucky to have found a good doctor and prescriber for my current LDN medication because that is the biggest part of the struggle. I live in the Binghamton/Broome County area of NY and to my knowledge, there are still NO Doctors in my current County that prescribe LDN. Very disappointing to be sure.
Very much enjoyed your video-seminar presentation. For all my knowledge about LDN, I pretty much learned everything I know from the videos and writings attributed to the great LDN founder -- Dr. Bernard Bihari. Even 10 years on LDN, I still from time to time go back and re-watch the CZcams interviews on LDN with Dr. Bihari. To me, that is just the best information available for LDN and it is free.

So grateful that my neurologist, Dr. Mariko Kita, at Seattle Virginia Mason was wise enough to say, “Yes, I’ll prescribe this for you!” Way back in 2007!
I have been using LDN for MS and Ulcerative Colitis for the past 16 years. Gave me my life back…I have low thyroid - trying to find a doc here in Portugal - which is a HUGE challenge! It did not occur to me that LDN would all along be supporting my thyroid, perhaps I would be far worse off without it.

I’ve had ME/CFS/Fibro for over 40 years - since my twenties. I’ve just found out about LDN - my GP said no - but I’ve managed to get it privately and start soon. Hoping for some improvement.
Do you have any updates? How has the LDN affected your health?
Forgot to mention key points for Hashimoto's patients new to LDN. If covered, I apologize:
* Hashimoto's patients should start LDN at a very low dose (1.5 mgs) and move up in integrals till you reach your ideal dose. But generally no higher than 4.5 mgs. Have heard of patients going a little higher than 4.5 mgs but it's generally not recommended.
Reason you start so low, is that when you start LDN, it can sometimes re-awaken your own Thyroid causing it to produce more of its own hormone. This can sometimes require you to reduce your Thyroid medicine dose. So periodic testing of your Thyroid Hormone levels when you begin taking LDN Therapy is recommended. If possible, anyway.
* When you get your 1st LDN prescription it should be filled by a reputable Compound pharmacy with solid experience in making therapeutic prescription LDN. I believe the main LDN website maintains a list of recommended compound pharmacies that make good quality prescription LDN.
I am not active on the LDN social media boards anymore. But I remember the countless times I used to hear complaints from patients complaining that their LDN meds are just not woking for them. Then when I ask them where they are getting their LDN prescription filled -- they matter of fact tell me at CVS or Walgreens. Holly Sh** What do you expect when you do something that much in error???? Not saying a local pharmacy is 100% incapable. But Generally: NEVER get your LDN prescription filled at a local pharmacy. They simply lack the specific experience required to make the required effective fast-acting LDN formulation. Per my knowledge and experience, anyway.

I started on LDN on 1.5 mg and my hashimotos INCREASED in more days of having flare ups. In 3 weeks I went from 1 a week to about 3 a week. Overall had 10 EPISODES. THIS STUFF WAS BACKFIRING ON ME. It could happen!
@@bjamngirl I acknowledge there are people who do not seem to respond to LDN, or have adverse affects. But sometimes it helps to find out why. Try and answer my questions to see if we can maybe found out why:
Where are you getting your LDN? It is essential you get your LDN from a competent COMPOUND pharmacy WITH experience in making quality, fast acting LDN with no prohibited fillers.
When are you taking your LDN? I know there are people who take LDN during the day, but LDN Therapy was originally designed as a night-time dosing therapy (around 10 PM). That's the way I have always taken it and I have had tremendous success with LDN.
Are you on any other medications that may conflict with LDN? Especially any Immunosuppressant drug. I do NOT recommend taking any Immunosuppressant drug with LDN as they tend to cancel each other out. From my knowledge anyway.
LDN fixed my chronic rapid heart rate, and is helping with the anxiety associated with it.
If it's challenging to overdose on LDN and it's not very expensive, why is a prescription needed?
I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos which I clearly had all of my life.. and was prescribed this by a neurologist after punch biopsy revealed 30% decrease in sm nerve fibers…I received RAI for Graves’ disease 30 years ago.. I was unable to tolerate the affects of LDN after driving to a compound pharmacist, and trying lower and lower doses, I always felt drugged.
I hope that I can find success in this area. I strongly believe that I am being mismanaged.
Between the title of this video and the comments, it seems like there is nothing low dose naltrexone doesn't treat and fix.
Do you need to worry about increased thyroid levels with naltrexone if you have had a thyroidectomy? Looking at using it for weight loss but I have had a thyroidectomy and am taking armour thyroid.
Can LDN ve used for burning mouth syndrome?
I did some research on LDN and presented it to my rheumatologist today, telling him why I would be a good candidate for this. He says he does not prescribe that but referred me to a pain management specialist to see if I may be able to be prescribed some through them. I heard from a friend who has been taking this for 15 years that I may not be able to get it from anyone else but a homeopathic type of a doctor. Can you tell me more about this? Also, would this be covered by insurance because that’s going to be a huge factor for me. I have Hashimoto’s fibromyalgia and RA. I am 55 years old and it is affecting my quality of life as I am generally a more active person. That’s just the tip of the iceberg,

Any medication that is compounded, the majority of the time is not covered by insurance. My suggestion to find a doctor that can prescribe this to you call a compound pharmacy in your neighborhood in your area and ask him what doctors do prescribe the LDN
i am v sick with thyroid immune - Hashi's. But LDN is expensive where I live, you have to get it from a special compounding pharmacy. No way could I afford it and who wants to be on a medicine all their lives ? There must be another way. Sounds so promising but tried so many things and they do not work, have a placebo effect then back to ground zero. So over trying sh*t that costs so much money and getting no where :(
