I love puddles. What I love about this performance (correct me if I’m wrong) is that while the other covers I’ve seen seem mournful and full of regret, this one seems mocking and filled with displeasure, like a breaking point. It fits his act so well, amazing as always ♥️

Gotta admit, Lorde rubs me the wrong way, come back in 20-30 years when you ain't so young and try the holier than thou routine when your life isn't all in front of you. Puddles actually gives you that angry, bitter twist from someone who's been out on the road, I like that angle on the tune.

Yeah, I first saw this several years ago and have been a fan of P3 ever since. And then this was the song that Simon buzzed on AGT in 2017 (the man just doesn't like clowns, but it is hard to beat a cute and talented kid when the viewers are the ones voting). I've watched as many versions of this as I can find, and none compare, although Lorde's is second best.
Put it on 1.25x speed and prepare to be entertained.
