Carson is such a smart dude. Love how breaks down the science of it’s a
Great video!
Thats why dan kubins are the only rotarys that have real mechanical give that works like on a coil. They back off but still go in and out super fast
Yes please do a video on needle making, that was really interesting information you were getting in to.
Yes please do a talk about needle making. I'm curious about whether or not anyone does it and uses those needles anymore or if it's simply not done because of cartridges and ease of factory made.
Fantastic conversation! So glad to see prolific thought going into this subject. I’ve tossed these ideas around for years, well, ever since I bought my first “ego” but mostly just get blank stares and hollow comments. Can’t wait to see episode #3
Rotary machines have no cushion or give! Coil machines have give do to the fact there's an spring you can bend flex and soften the hit of the machine! Some people just need to stop complicating stuff and do what works, I myself learned to tattoo with rotary prison machines and did awesome work with those but now I've been using coils and would never go backwards to rotary again to me it's like going back to the stone age but I'm an believer that coils create less trauma for quicker and better healing. Might be wrong but I know you can always adjust your hand with any machine as well. Love your channel brother!
Commenting to agree that a video on needle making would be amazing. Like you said, many of us that started way after long needles were being put together elsewhere are so curious about how it's done. I for one think it would continue to round out my craft, and I feel a video on needle making would give insight on how lucky we are today to have everything made for us. Love the videos, thanks!
don't forget about the fact that the inkmachine's scorpion actually has a give obtained through the magnets, that feels pretty legit tbh
I have been instinctively tattooing backwards 💜💜💜
I only use coil machines but listening to the couple of videos so far is so interesting and Carson's in depth explanations are fantastic, i'd really enjoy the full podcast personally. A Needle making video would be very informative also
I would love to know what you think of machines like kubins that have a armature bar
A needle making video would be amazing.
If the Coil maschine were easier and in a different enclosure, they'd definitely stick,Carson will definitely figure something out.Amazing video, be good, cao.
Very interesting. It’s a little hard to understand for me but it makes sense that mechanic give makes more trauma.
I used the xion with more give and was wondering why I had some blowouts even when the machine was running very low ..... the neuma 4 looks like a solution to all the problems with rotarys.
Btw did he say black claw are good or bad? I didn’t understand this correctly
Thx to all and fireside 🙏
He said black claw are the best cartridges he's tried, just ordered some myself, they even have some new bio degradable cartridges.
@@FloatyTattoo thanks 🙏 I want to try them too
So for what kind of work you use give on it ? I’m so confused with it, I always have it with minimum give, I like direct drives actually
Memphis town you say?? RIP YOUNG DOLPH .
Needle making would be cool haven't made em in decades well close to 2 decades
I don’t care for machines with give I depend on shorter stroke machines for softer hit and a longer stroke for hard hitting the mechanical give on these new machines feels like it just slows down the rpm on the machine and it just. Slows down my tattooing process I use the sol nova unlimited and the neuma 4 back and forth and I just got the new force by stigma it has that e give and boost the boost I honestly really like but I don’t care for e give
Tubes scrubbing left a mark on every tattooist 😅
Sometimes I wonder if people actually like what they’re talking about or just giving friends some advertisements
I disagree that mechanical give leaves it in the skin longer. The way he was explaining is not taking into account the time it takes for a spring mechanism to decompress. The motor might be at the bottom of the stroke before the give mechanism or spring decompresses fully. In that case it might be in the skin 25% or even 20% depending on the stiffness of the spring. His explanation is actually showing more of why rotaries without give force people to slow there hand movement, because the needle on a direct drive stays in the skin the entire time its in the bottom third of the cycle. I do agree the E give is not give at all though.
Where’s the darklabs app lol I want give on my flux
Yeah everyone is waiting.... maybe it arrives with the new exo or maybe it was just false advertising
@@realseppel5198 can’t be false advertising, some of the CZcamsrs have got it
@@papajarv yeah I know, but it was advertised and still nothing... I mean we payed for it and the wait is to long imo.
@@realseppel5198 tell me about it , an update would be nice just to say they are having technical difficulties or something
You really believe in that crap ? I have a xion we can exchange lmao
This is sooo confusing. I don’t know what I want or need. Faulhaber 2607 seems like a good medium motor. And did I hear it right? Sometimes it’s better to line with 3.5 stroke
