I already had a low sugar intake, that which is only naturally occurring in foods. My problem was too low a fat diet. Including good fats. THAT, consuming the good fats, is where I improved my diet. There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.

Just think about how much effort and impact on the environment when row crops replace pasture grass land. We humans need an animal based diet. I tried all the diet types hyped by various idiots who proclaimed we were omnivores or vegetarians or whatever and every time my health suffered at every level. Now at the age of 73 I feel great and want to hike and exercise and I sleep well. I am no longer fat with a bmi of 18. 20 months ago it was 27 and now weigh what I did in high school,-42#. There are no studies that you refer to on how healthy a plant base diet is for humans. There were a lot of bogus meta-studies such as the 7 country study put out by Ansel Keys which was proven to be a bunch of malarky . Here are some of my issues with the plants. They caused me so much gut pain, gas, bloating and contributed to a lot of fat to accumulate around my hips and belly. I couldn't heal from injuries such as cuts and I bruised easily .On the meat diet I healed fast and seldom got bruising from working at a very physical job in USN shipyards and ships. Visceral fat was an issue as well as kidney stones and girds which went away on meat. Greasy meat was the best. Never felt weak and could work longer hours and seldom got sick. I hope you give carnivore a 30 day try. You might find out what we all found out: You were lied to about what is a Proper Human Diet.

But if you didn't look at all, then your "fact" amounts to religious belief. Start with a medical textbook that explains human biology, including the fact that the human body can make any sugar that it actually needs and does not require exogenous sugar. You have missed the point dandy. Why humans ingest sugar/carbs and can't stop eating it is because the chemistry doesn't allow our brains to get the message that we have eaten enough. Look it up. Our food scientist working for the food companies know how to get humans addicted to the concoctions that they put in those processed foods. Doritos are a good example of how it works. Put a bit of sugar and salt along with some spices, deep fry them in corn oil and add chemicals such as MSG into a previously common corn chip and many people will get hooked. I remember the first time I saw a tube of Pringle baked potato chips. It was on my ship while in the USN about 1972. My shipmates were crazy for them and ate a lot of them. Even back then I didn't eat junk food such as this stuff. I did try one when offered it. I took a bite and then let it sit in my mouth for a minute. Looked at the sailor who gave it to me and stated: Was that a joke? Do you really like this crap? I pulled out a hunk of beef jerky and offered it to him.I said to him here's some real food. This guy kept eating those Pringles and before 3 months passed his back went out on him and had to be sent back to the US for treatment. We were on a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea with the Sixth Fleet. Thinking back on it I'm sure it was the junk food that was wrecking his joints. The chow was bad back then but its worse now. Many can't stay in because the have become obese on all the carbs and lack of protein and saturated fat in the food being served on the ships. I used to take a lot of beef jerky to sea with me and almost never ate any of the bread or pasta or salads that were everyday fare on the enlisted mess deck. When we had drug dogs come on board a year before my enlistment was complete the dogs focused on my locker and my bunk. Three of them got sent back for training because they were after my beef jerky, lol. I told the handler that maybe they should pick a breed not so focused on food like the beagles are.

Neither is the problem! But if you eat a high fat diet, you will not be able to eat sugar! Fat blocks insulin receptor sites. I can eat sugar because I eat a low fat diet and eat my sugars/fruits first thing in the day before I have had any fat. My grandma literally went off her insulin after not being able to stomach fats anymore because of her cancer. She ended up only being able to eat fruits, juices and cream of rice cereal and within some time had to totally stop her insulin injections. And please most people think of sugar they think of a donut or cake which is also loaded in butter, dairy or seed oils. Neither cane sugar or animal products are the problem, but eating them together is going to cause problems. And of course, the more muscle and fitness you have, the more you can handle a piece of cake once in a while or a regular pizza. Damn.
