It isn't a rebadged Blazer. Ultium is a platform. By way of comparison you probably don't say that Porsches that share a platform with Audis (which is fairly common) are rebadged Audis.
No. The parts are completely different according to GM. So not necessarily a rebadged GM product, just sharing the platform.

They're two entirely different vehicles that happen to share a platform (Ultium), something that's not at all uncommon in vehicle engineering.
They will depreciate immensely in 3 yrs when Honda will have their own ev platform already developed

It looks way better than the Blazer. Given it’s the same vehicle I think they did a good job reskinning it. Though I’ll be more interested to see what Honda can do on their own.
Yeah, totally agree. I can't overstate how much I hate the new Chevy Blazer and its siblings. That stupid separated lights for the DRLs and Headlights is hideous and it's blinding on the Traverse. Why do companies (Chevy, Nissan, BMW, Mitsubishi) do that now?! It's HIDEOUS and unsafe!
Considering how far behind Honda is on EVs I would not expect their first offering to be anything earth shattering. Honda and Toyota have been very leery of EVs. It's funny that people are bashing ultium when it's far beyond what Honda currently offers, hence the platform sharing
The Prologue and the Blazer are not the same vehicle.
That's like saying all people are the same because genetically speaking, we're for the most part all alike.
And that's right if you only look at us from a fairly narrow focus.
Take in everything that makes us distinct as individuals, and it's not the case.

...fake engine noise at a standstill might seem lame... but my retiree parents have complained that they can't tell if my PHEV is on or off. The first time she drove it, my mom actually straight up left the car in park but [on] for an entire acupuncture session. She called me in a panic afterwards, asking how to turn it off. (it's a volvo. there's a switch. it twists only one way. not rocket science, but somehow, not obvious to a 67 year old). sometimes, particularly when cars are getting so tech heavy, you gotta drop a few cues, a few callbacks, otherwise a luddite driver may get intimidated, as if they're suddenly piloting an alien spaceship instead of a car.

It's not a rebadged Blazer EV. You can tell this easily because it doesn't burst into flames and you can actually buy one because it's not a modern GM dumpster fire.

The federally mandated low-speed sounds from hybrids and EVs kind of drives me nuts. The fact that you have to listen to that noise on the inside too, would be a deal breaker for me. That said, whenever I hear "haunted refrigerator" while approaching/at an intersection while walking or on my bike, I know it's a Honda or Toyota hybrid or EV without even turning my head. I guess that's the point. Of course, they don't make ICE cars with start/stop emit a sound when not moving and the engine is off...
ICE cars with start/stop don’t need an artificial exterior sound because they can’t propel themselves with the engine off. But in a hybrid or EV, the vehicle can move at considerable speeds without an engine.
With that said, I agree that an interior sound when stationary is plain stupid.

I agree, they are annoying. There are plenty of ICE examples that idle quieter than these artificial sounds. One can usually hear an artificial Toyota noise behind a running ICE. I understand the purpose, but execution was poor across the industry. Some examples being more obnoxious over others.
I feel this Prologue is a prelude to the Epilogue.

Styling is fine, performance is adequate, distance is fine, piping inside that noise is annoying... But for that price, I just can't excuse the TERRIBLE 150kw DC charging rate. Not having 250-350kw DC fast charging automatically wipes it off a shopping list for me and if manufacturers want customers to take their car serious, even on lower models, they wont release a product without it. Competition from Telsa, Hyundai/Kia, etc, have proper DC fast charging, and I get that 350kw stations aren't spread around completely yet, but when you pay this kind of money for a new vehicle, especially when manufacturers had 5+ years to get something on the road, I expect some minor future readiness. Though this has them, I agree with the opinion in the video that removing minimum wired apple carplay/android auto is DOA to me.

For me, no plug. No sale. I like the look better than the blazer, though I like how GM did the blazer screens better than Hondas tacked on tablets. And CarPlay is a plus.

My thoughts on the screen is Honda was thinking there were a lot of accidental touches and making it take a fraction of a second longer would prevent that. And yes they are right; no playing with a tablet while you’re driving so saying you’re going to do it anyway doesn’t justify that.

I am in the middle about this one, I was expecting a pure Honda ev. I think the prologue may leave feeling like it's missing proper Honda design and ergonomics as a current Honda owner of 2024 Pilot and Accord.

So my take on Honda using GM’s Ultium Platform for their first electric SUV:
I am not mad at it one bit. Yes there is a lot of GM in this Honda from the start up chimes that came from Cadillac and from Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon, and the more grained plastic panels for the interior, but as a owner of a current Honda product, no Honda wouldn’t do better on their own. It would’ve been same level of quality when it comes to the interior. I had a GM car before the Honda and I didn’t see interior quality improvements that people kept touting.
The Honda Prologue looks good and they made it their own out Of GM’s parts bin. Nothing wrong with that. The disdain of GM is why people are mad about Honda doing this but obviously it is still a solid product being presented which says a lot. I wouldn’t buy one because I am still on the fence currently about EV’s until necessary improvements come about. But if I were going to buy an EV, I do like the Prologue based off the reviews and I would buy one

The noise is enough to take it off my list. I will give Honda a 👍 however for making an almost perfect NORMAL EV. Adequate power, charging, and range. Most other companies are targeting ridiculous numbers that lead to unjustified prices. I do still feel the prologue is a bit overpriced. A comparable ICE powered vehicle would cost $7-10k less. When manufacturers can finally sell EVs for similar prices as ICE vehicles, I believe they will start to sell better.

I wish Honda did just a tad bit more with the exterior though it's pretty darn handsome. The interior is really a let down, like interior-by-numbers. It needs just a bit more creativity I think, but it looks extremely functional.

I'm surprised Honda hasn't brought back a reimagined Element yet. It would sell well in the hot CUV/ SUV segment. That can handle the off-roading that Honda thinks people do with the Passport that anyone who owns one probably barely does

Honda had the Clarity... I didn't realize it was such a limited release for CA and OR for the EV. I thought only the Hydrogen Fuel Cell was limited... so weird.
They did the same with Isuzu for the first Honda SUV.
There are many situations in the world of manufacturing, including medical devices that it is a contract manufacturer building the product and the inspection process is done to the standard required by company who is going to sell that product
The Honda engineer interviewed in Savagegeese mentioned they have inspections setup at the site of mfg prior to taking delivery
As a Honda fan, and considering how good my other Honda products have been I would probably take a leap and give this a chance.
The lower charge curve for example could easily be a decision by Honda based on protecting the battery longevity.
What this cat is not is a 10 year car. I see this something to lease or trade in 4 years and move on from it
