- Being that pokemon scarlet and violet have been out for quite awhile now there is an increasing problem with people hacking pokemon and robots trading out hacked pokemon over link trade and surprise trade. Most of these pokemon are non nicknameable and promote 3rd party websites or discord servers where they are set up to either to teach people how to hack in pokemon themselves or scam little kids for money by trading them shiny pokemon of their choice that are still hacked. this has made these pokemon worthless for trading since they are so common and not wanted by majority of players. The ones that the game realizes are hacked (having impossible moves and such) are kinda creepy when you try to re-trade them and it cryptically says "There is something wrong with the Pokémon you have chosen". Like it's evil or it's got a disease or something. And if it can't be traded, how in the world did someone send it to me in the first place?! I just release those ones instead - putting them out of their wonky hacked misery, I guess. 🙂
ive actually been getting more and more of those type of ones recently. youll try to trade them away or even use them on a battle team and get an error like that

@@carom4658you can keep them, if you don’t use them in battle nobody is gonna know my brothers had a bunch from random trade for a while and he doesn’t use them in pvp but uses them in solo tera raids etc, you didn’t do the hacking on your account you only own the Pokémon so it should be okay (I think)

Ultimately its the pokemon companies responsibility to find these hackers and take them offline. But even if they take down one pokemon hacker 5 more will pop up in their place.. its pretty much hopeless.

Ultimately, it's not necessarily the hacked shinnies, it's the name plate Nickname that can't be changed, I wouldn't mind getting one if I could change the name.
there are some accounts that used to trade these non stop and ended up getting banned recently so now the pokemon wont even be able to be used online anymore so thats another risk to using them
@@rai25damn for real but tbh that makes sense becuz there's one rng manipulate youtuber talk abt the consequences of getting banned affect your game cfw. Esp for homebrew unistall tells you if you have plug-ins or anything downloaded for theme your going to brick your console most likely.

I'm a shiny hunter. Most, if not all, of my shiny Pokemon are legit. Unfortunately though, people like that definitely spoil the fun sometimes. I once hatched an extra shiny Noibat on ORAS and just wanted to make someone's day by trading it away. On my PSS profile, I said, "Free shiny Noivern" (because I decided to evolve it) But nobody wanted it - probably thinking it was hacked.

Legit got 5 hacked shinies out of 28 from surprise trade when getting rid of bronzors. Had to send one off cuz I already had the shiny of that already **LEGITIMATELY** which was rockruff. So 4 hacked shinies remain in my box.
Honestly I just take the free item off them, and use them to breed my own shiny since the usually have good nature and IVs.
Still annoying that they clog up wonder trade.
I keep the items too. I’ve gotten many hidden abilities on my mons through ability patches

If you tried to trade these hacked Pokemon. The game will tell there's something wrong with the Pokemon you've selected. Basically like impossible moves shouldn't be learned on that Pokemon or meeting place info
Personally I don't really care as long as they're technically legal. I spent most of my time actually shiny hunting the mons I want and just using bottle caps and other resources to get them fighting ready and its pretty much the same result. Now if they have abnormal stat lines or abilities they shouldn't have thats a completely different story, but I have yet to actually find one of those in my wonder trading experiences.

From what I understand they use old versions of the switch without updates to create the genned Pokemon. Couldn't they just force the updates? Wouldn't that basically delete half of them over night?
Today I catch a shiny Gouging Fire joining a union circle lobby of ShinyDen. The Pokémon is shiny (normally is shiny locked and it is forced to spawn but it hasn’t hacked moves or ability). I catch the Pokémon by myself so it has also my trainer if. Is my Violet account in trouble or I can keep it?
You joined a hacked raid. Gauging fire being shiny locked means it is not legal. You shouldn’t be able to trade it online or use it online for battle. It will come up with error when you select it.
There is a small chance you can get banned from online on the chance you can use it.
Tip if it’s a Pokémon you want breed it if u got a ditto then release that
Is it safe to put the hacked items in your bag and use it? Im talking about ability patches for PvP pokémon. Wonder trade seems way more efficient for ability patch farming than raids
all items are usable with no issues even the ones from those. ive got like 100master ball most of which are from hacked mons from wonder trade.

As dumb of a question as this is, I had done some surprise trades and ended up getting a few hacked pokemon with items. Are these items safe? I'm assuming yes since its an obtainable item but at the same time I don't want to get in trouble for having them.

ORAS had this same problem, trading shinys for shinys was risky because you can’t see the OT before the trade

I had a few I got from surprise trades when the game first came out. When I came back recently, it wouldn't let me use them in online raids. Nor surprise trade them. They were useless. Today I got a Shiny Ho-Oh. Should I release it cause it works online?
reason why they might not work online is because the OT got banned by gamefreak. sad thing is they just make a new profile and continue to do the same thing anyways.

I just got a switch and violet and have a bunch of shinies or website named pokemon, from the suprise trades. so they are allowed to use online or trade but something like a shiny cover pokemon is not.? I have not played Pokémon since X and Y
They are allowed to be traded and used online because they are legal but hacked. The cover legends being shiny are only obtainable through hacking and will get you banned if traded or used online.

you wont get banned at all if you use it online or offline. only way youll get banned is if you were the person who hacked/genned it and traded it or using an illegal hacked mon in online play. Example of like raikou or any pokemon that is not able to be currently obtained or one that has an unobtainable move/ability.

there are also those with japanese name that its hard to tell if they are hacked and you get them with link trade code, mostly they will not be shinies so you wont know, so what i do is to immidiatly breed them

I don’t know if this helps, but once I was trading a shiny hacker a Pokémon in exchange for a non shiny Pokémon , a couple days later, I was trading again with that person. The person gave me a shiny, (I wasn’t paying attention, so I didn’t know which one.) I look in my box and it was the same non shiny that I had traded with my original name and was lv 100 hypertrained all shiny… so I think they change Pokémon…
yea they can modify any pokemon to make them shiny change their ivs natures etc.
I don't mind them, I get them in wonder trades all the time, I just breed them with ditto and breed shines from them, then they become legit shines you can train and use

the items you get from them are completely fine to keep. ive got over 100 masterball mostly from them over the past year.
If you ever receive one of these Pokémon, check what they’re holding immediately. There is a chance they hold a Master ball, I’ve gotten a few from them.
I just did a raid and I had a hacker hack my goldengo to force me to use a kinggambit moveset and luckily I made sure we lost that raid but the fact that someone can hack your system to make you use a moveset that you don't use. Like wtf
I once had a hacked shiny dusknoir with a link in its name in my team for a while but then I had another shiny dusknoir in Pokémon go that wasn’t hacked and it stayed as a dusclops for 2 years that I transferred from go to home then scarlet. He’s currently in my team and he has the same moves as the hacked one. Also I never used the hacked dusknoir in online battles.

Hi, I never done any online tuff on Pokémon and I’m pretty new to the community itself! I recently found out about surprise trades a week ago and at first it was normal and then after a few trades I’ve gotten like 6-5 shiny that are level 100 with links names and at first I was hype I got these but I’ve felt weirdly nervous using them online, so I googled and apparently these are hacked like you said! And a bunch of people say you can get your account banned, go to jail etc and rn I’m freaking out lmao I don’t know if it’s okay to keep these or just instantly release them because I don’t think I ever gotten so many shinys and I want to start shiny breeding with them.

Those are all illegal. You need to check the official pokemon rules about hacking and exploits. Don't listen to any random people in the pokemon community because they have the mindset that hacked pokemon are ok and always have an excuse as to why they are when its all bs

When HGSS came out i used an action replay to get Stunky and Glameow and bred the hacked Pokemon with a legit Ditto. Their descendants are in Pokemon Home to this day. The game considers them perfectly legal.
Please dont put them back into wondertrade just release them, dont make it a loop.
My main concern is you can actually breed a perfect iv shiny yes its very possible but you need crazy luck but i worry about is someone who spent momths breeding a perfect iv shiny all to get banned because someone merely thought they were hacking

I love them. Ability patches are hard to find and I don't mind getting free items.
You can use a software that’s free to the public to create legal Pokémon then load them into your ds and then put them in your bank to your home then into scarlet/violet

I think the next games should automatically release a Pokemon that is hacked or genned in. That or the game places a unremovable mark on any hacked or genned Pokemon that renders it unusable.
that would be really difficult to do because the ways to gen in or hack pokemon are always changing.
I am glad that not only people aware of the problem but fighting it rather than normalizing it and educating how to spot them.
And i kidding you not when i say this but i got of those hacked pokemon BS 3 in rows, and follow up 17 total trough suprice trade by clearing my 2 boxes. I deleted them all and could say i was so geunie pissed how many i got and the time was it gave. It truly displeases me.
also wat makes it more salty for me: When i was new to the pokemon s/v and its community i never expected it too be that bad, a pro tip for fellow players be careful wen looking for say a trade of miraidon and koraidon, there be people that put up advert scumbag OT names on the pokemon and i lost my Koraidon to a hacked pokemon due to not aware of bad the hacking is.

I have released every one of these I got. 6 or 7 so far. My policy is if I know it is hacked or even if I have the suspicion it is hacked I release it immediately. I do keep the masterballs though. But the only reason I keep them is to trade them. I know a few younger people that play Pokémon and to be honest they’re stupid. They do not know how to play the game. I give them these master balls so they can catch legendary pokemon because they’re utterly incapable of maintaining a long-term battle and using 30 ultra balls. One of these children doesn’t battle anyone so they don’t have any money to actually buy ultra balls. So they have nothing to catch a Pokémon with. I’ve been playing long enough where I have my own way of doing things, my own way of organizing things, and there are certain minimum rate markers I have in my game. Post game anyway.

People have been telling me to get rid of my main Pokemon that has websites and I'm literally scared of bringing those Pokemon in the tournament because of you know the Pokemon company / game freaks strict policy. I actually don't do vcg but I kind of want to but I also don't because I do have Shiny Pokemon that has websites as their names which really creeps me the hell out I don't want to release them because I became attached to them. I have this in three Pokemon games Pokemon Ultra sun and moon, Pokemon sword and shield, and Pokemon violet.

I am a pokemon breader for a long time and it is posible to get a 6 iv shiny pokemon i have some of them but there nature most of the time is bad for the pokemon or ability now the only way to see if the pokemon is hack or not is the trainer name or pokemon and is geting aut of controll because of gamefreak making et every game even harder to iv train your pokemons

Breeding has become easier not harder. There are now bottle caps to max out your pokemons IV's and Mints to change your Pokemon's nature. Hell there's even the Mirror Herb item now that you can use to quickly put egg moves on pokemon without having to do a bunch of chain breeding with lots of mons in the same egg group to get certain moves. There's also the Ability Patch and Hidden Ability Patch to change your Pokemon's abilities. The only hard and boring part is getting the money to buy all of that stuff or do raids to get those items. Go compare and try breeding in All the Pokemon games (I'm talking about the Gameboy and DS games) to gen 7 and 8 breeding and i think you will find out just how much easier it has really become. The only reason to breed these days is if you dont want to farm money to just buy the items to change your Pokemon

I did surprise trades and I got level 100 Or Lower from pokenvy, Zacian and other Pokémon that’s not in the game legally and I Hope I don’t get banned.
I've not only use trade bots and have received hacked Pokemon through surprise trade, but I've done a bit of genning myself on the 3DS games (Though my genning and hacking were more related to Bad Egg studies and why the checks were SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad). From what I've gathered, Nintendo doesn't do a deep check on any specific Pokemon or the player. The checks, at least for single player, are so checking if something is possible naturally, such as encountering a lv 1 shiny Arceus with no ability in the wild (Spoiler, you can encounter it through hacking, and through my testing it can be used without major harm, though your results may vary. My obviously forced hack only became a Bad Egg roughly 30% of encounters). If it's something that can happen naturally, generally it's safe to capture and use, even if the trash bytes are completely scuffed.
As for ONLINE, this is a more complicated issue. Firstly, Nintendo appears to only prevent obviously hacked stuff, like the lv 1 shiny Arceus or a Lucario that's permanently in Mega (But even this level of "prevention" is weak as there are videos of people battling 6 Megas in older games. Something was only recently done in Pokemon Home that turned these Pokemon into Eggs). For Pokemon that are less obvious, like a lv 100 shiny Cinderace or such, the chances that _you_ would get banned is pretty low. The reason for this is, while you might be an adult with critical thinking, these games are meant for children who might not know better. To them, they just got lucky and some poor sob just traded away their best Pokemon. More than that however, think about how long this has been a problem. The chances that you would have a hacked Pokemon sitting in one of your older games and not know it is incredibly high. So, what does Nintendo and TPCI do? Do they ban the kid who just got a hacked Pokemon and doesn't know it? And do they ban the guy who got a hacked Pokemon 13 years ago in Black and never knew it? Or do they take the safer route that doesn't cause an uproar and potentially lose customers and simply prevent obvious hacks from being used while not banning that person or corrupting their data?
In general, you're safe. Like I said, I force spawned completely illegal Pokemon in Pokemon Diamond, as well as gave myself illegal items like the Azure Flute and Red Chain, and was about 70% safe. I also used the browser exploit in Pokemon ORAS to spawn in multiple copies of Cosplay Pikachu and even Eternal Floette, with nothing happening at all. Now, I wouldn't try to put them into Pokemon Home, nor trade them (Even if I didn't have standards that prevented me from using/trading hacks, I don't feel like flagging my game since, well, it's impossible to get Eternal Floette), but there have been others who have and the results are mixed. If you're totally paranoid, just release the suspect Pokemon. As long as the Pokemon in question isn't an Egg or isn't the combined form of Calyrex, you should be fine to release that Pokemon. If that Pokemon is an Egg or such that can't be released, there are three potential ways to handle this situation.
First, hope and pray Nintendo releases their data recovery tool they've been using to fix the save data corruptions that's been happening to a select few people.
Second, use a hacking tool yourself and simply gen a Pokemon over that Egg or unreleasable Pokemon.
Third, and this one is easiest but might not work depending on last safe, SV and SwSh have a backup save file you can access by pressing X, B, and UP on the D-Pad on the game's title screen, which will take you to the last backup that was made. If your backup was made while you have the hacked thing, you're out of luck.
You can't trade Zacian so you knowingly join a union circle for that.

I release them they usually come with master balls so I have couple masterballs

Since HOME opened I've seen too many hacked ones. Like literally the first random trade I did was a hacked female shiny greninja with perfect EV and IVs, threw it away so quickly.
Also I keep seeing them in Tera Raids now, like I've already seen a hacked scizor, diancie and chesnaught. Those three were all today, I've seen way more than that.

Lol the worse part for the reason why home was made was to reduce the amount of hmon from various cfw like pksm that went well to butcher the amount of pokemon transferred to game to game.

I have notioned that people should not join strangers circles because they are probably fully aware that the pokemon are hacked. Yes I am saying people who join hacked circles should get banned if they are catching hacked pokemon.
Ok but there for sale. Most of them are like 3 bucks if you look up the sight so whatever.
These website named shinies are bottom tier priority for me. I'd rather get a route 1 Pokémon.
