- When Royal Enfield introduced the production-version of the Shotgun 650 at the Motoverse festival, I thought to myself, ‘how different could it really be?’ The answer to this question, as I eventually found out, was quite a lot. The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer hasn't just made efforts in making this the best looking motorcycle on the 650cc platform but has also made changes in dimensions, ergonomics and mechanical components too. All these changes have gone into the making of the best handling RE 650 to date. So what exactly is it that makes it so good? Watch on to find out!

Is the new RE Shotgun 650 the perfect big bike for India? What would be your choice?
Thx for the good review. I m riding since 1987.I had Honda, Kawa, BMW… and they all were good.Since 2021 I own a GT. Still love it as ever, look at it, ride it… I dare to say this is one of the best if not the best bike I ever had. Our Indian friends know how to make bikes and you can see mr. Lal is not only a biker, he is genius 😉.
I cannot sell my GT. This is the first bike I cannot sell to get a new bike. I still love it. So I am waiting until the SG comes to little Belgium ( you know, chocolate and beer 😂), because it seems like a hell of a fun machine.

i agree the instrument cluster should have been the digital one as this bike will be for the younger my age people. i would like the digi one

It is good looking. If you want a big bike which is flickable in traffic go for a smaller RE. This is for touring and a little of adventure on good roads.
Only problem is ground clearance, if only it had another 10 to 15mm of it, it would have been perfect.

can you compare it with classic 350 about the design alone positioning of foot rest etc..
Finally this is the perfect looking RE in my opinion.
Pls suggest a good helmet for my Shotgun 650 same colour.
My budget is 30-40k
I like it very much and consider buying it. For me a strong competitor is the Z650RS which here in Europe has a similar price

SG is Not what we expected. Priced high too. They showed something and delivered something else. Disappointing.
Ground clearance needs to be around 170mm to be okay to drive on
The low ground clearance and stiff suspension are deal breakers. Would just get the cheaper interceptor without these hassles and it's lighter and more flickable too.

Ground clearance isn't good, color schemes are also not that attractive. Had high expectations but doesn't look that promising.

@@Cineraria99 i know its a personal choice, but the graphics and RE logo on tank, looks little cheaper, it is a flagship bike which could have been way better. personally i would hav gone for grey one if it had better graphics, but it looks totally bald 😄. Dont get me wrong bro, i actually had much more expectations

I had much expectation on shotgun 650, as a bobber bike
And it failed as bobber
Jawa 42 bobber is much better in terms of styling and looks
Dislikes on shotgun 650
1. The lap between rare tyre and mud guard looks too odd
2. It should have come with spoke wheels
3.the silencer colour and the way it’s fat and up looks very bad
4. The gap between handle and tank we can see the chassie, the neck of the bike is too much exposed looks very odd
5. Bobber bikes are performance based vehicles and shotgun 650 is not and still offer less mileage 😢

First of all its not a boober it's a custom bike..if they made it a proper bobber people like u still complained about it I kno..
