    Single auger tub feeder, with a rear discharge door on either side would speed up feeding to no end

    Did you see the new aeration pipes that Tom pemberton has in his slurry store to agitate the slurry they would be a good investment for your slurry store one day to keep the slurry in there mixed!

    Yous fly through the work together. Great to be self efficient... hope the prices stick or go up as they should be but certain Mallon men are gettin it hard to give a fair price. Prices should be up at least 50c on what they are now

    Great video Phil , that’s very similar to what goes on in our yard except we would be feeding mostly dairy cows , we used to have a Keenan 100 until it was completely worn out then we bought a refurbed mech fiber 360 cw bale handler it has saved us an awful lot of time because it holds twice as much , we are feeding brewers grain and beet to the milking cows along with first cut silage

    Jaysus Phil I'm sorry to hear about poor Dolly, my uncle (lord have mercy on him) always said pure bred stock can be very hard to keep alive. That's a shame, but as you said where there livestock there's deadstock.
    A good rare Irish breed to try is the Bó Riabhach. I believe there's a farmer in longford trying to re-establish them. They are very rare and he's going around the country buying them up or letting his bulls out to cows.
    Could be good to look into. If I'm right they are a dualpurpose animal.
    Looking forward to seeing you get working on the forks, it's a handy wee machine for around the yard. 👍🏼

    Great video Phil, just a quick note, try and reverse the diet feeder up tight to the face of the pit. It will save a litte bit of time when loading, plus anything that drops out of the bucket will be close to the pit to tidy up.

    Is the diet feeder hard on the clutch of the tractor.
    Phil you should look at opening a mini farm and play area for kids.theres a few around where I come from and there raking in the money

    Regardless of weights you can see that they are thriving , I always find that the first few weeks of feeding are always disappointing , then they start to leap out of it , think it's as my father used to say " you have to get the lining in them first" ie. You have to build the internal fat before thy put on external condition.

      You are right about the 5%weight difference the lighter the animal it can be a bit less and the heavier the animal a bit more! If animals are weighed first thing in the morning that is usually closer to their true weight!!

      yes starlings are a problem we use the bird scarer but they've started to get used to it now.
      maize is much higher in protein

      i dont think so, we used to have a 3090 on an abbey diet feeder for years and it ever damaged the pto packs but the ursus cant handle it
