I watched the 98 final and even then I wondered if the Brazilian players had been bribed to intentionally lose the game. If you watched their performances in the previous matches of that cup, you'd see why something looked suspicious about the way they played the final.

Was in France during that whole WC. Anyone who remembers Brazil semis' performance vs the Netherlands would tell you that they were the huge favorites to win it all. So yes, there was something akwardly undescribable in how the Brazilian players moved on the pitch. They were all literally like "holding back" like a boxer does in a fixed fight. I had never seen this in my life...even in Serie A alledgedly "rigged" matches.
Right, it's not only about the result or how good the France side was. And I would never believe Ronaldo crashed under pressure. In the semi-final he scored the only goal and took the first penalty. From the very beginning he was always calm and composed. It was the weirdest match ever. I was sad and couldn't handle the name of Zidane for a few years after that.

As someone who has epilepsy, if I had to play the most important football match of my career just 2 hours before kick off, and then I had a seizure, I would have volunteered to be left out of the starting 11, or the team advisors would go around a way to get me on the bench, just to give me enough time to recover. The mistake was putting Ronaldo back on the starting 11 rather than allowing him time to prepare.
Having seizures at least twice a month is something I find unbearable to deal with, because it prevents me from going abroad without documentation proving I require medication for travel, some which are banned from being taken despite being prescribed from your chemist.
I had another seizure 2 days ago and I don't remember sleeping on the stairs and waking up with blood on my shirt, or leaving my glasses and phone on my desk. I'd wake up confused and not concentrated for the big match.
Ronaldo didn't feel up for it prior to kick off, and the mood in the Brazil dressing room wasn't filling with confidence after 2 goals conceded before half time, and anyone who went through what he did would feel the same, especially since he was the best player in the world at the time and it was his big moment. At least he got his revenge 4 years later.

This actually reminds me about what happened to Guerrero for Peru as soon as Peru had a chance of being qualified for the World Cup.
Guerrero was contaminated in Argentina prior to the game against Argentina and the "anti-doping" test was not released until a week before Peru had to face New Zealand. Everything points to someone slipping something into Guerrero's tea which resulted in him coming out positive. The weird thing is that even after the game against Argentina, FIFA officials said nothing of him being positive.
To add to that, if Argentina had lost against Peru, there was a high chance of Argentina not making it into the 2018 World Cup. Peru had not lost one game since 2016 and was winning its last matches. Even during the game, there were controversial offside calls that never were offside.
It was only after Peru qualified and Chile starting looking for a way of getting both Colombia and Peru disqualified that investigations started and FIFA officially came out to say that Guerrero had tested positive.
This ended up with Guerrero serving a 6 month suspension, being the main striker that Peru uses so that even if he did make it into the World Cup, he would make it with very little play time.
Is it a coincidence that Peru ended up in a group with France? or another coincidence that they could have faced Argentina if they advanced from their group?

Theory #1: No, lol. Mario Zagallo personally told he chose to start the match with Ronaldo. "How would I leave the best player in the world out of a World Cup final?" said he in an interview. Doctor said he was good to play, no one thought he wouldn't be in full focus, apparently.
Theory #2: Also no. Brazil was a pretty messed up team in 98. Absolutely zero tactics both in offense and defense. This team lost to Norway at group stage and barely beat Denmark and Netherlands (PK). They were lucky Ronaldo and Rivaldo were on fire, pretty much winning matches on their on. France, on the other side, was a much more solid squad. This was proven at the years that came afterwards. Lets not forget France beat Brazil again in 2001 Confederations Cup and 2006 World Cup.

youtube isnt the place for free content creators anymore. major content creators are professional agencys which manage thousands of channels with billions of views and hundreds of millions followers. All the "top X", the 5-15 minutes "breakdowns" about all different stuff (including sport, scandals, history etc), the fail compilations etc etc are made by a few agencies and people! Thats why you see basically the same videos/topics popping up in different channels.
Many of them have the same voice, the same style or the same edit because it literally is the same!

I had a legit feeling France was going to win "the Cup" that year. I wasn't convinced with their PK battle vs Italy. Best game in that entire tournament. Croatia smoked Romania and Germany but was all of a sudden not themselves vs France. On the other side Brazil played tough vs Denmark and Holland. They totally gave away to France like the game like they did in 2014 to Germany. I love football and the World Cup but I'm aware of the corruption too.
