Hey, nice model! I mostly do 80’s era and earlier for freight stuff but I’ve been tempted by these modern six axle Katos, for sure. Glad to hear you’re playing it safe with COVID, too 😊
Interesting channel. British LMS 8F in profile picture and a video of an American diesel here. I saw your Japanese and European stuff so you probably collect everything.
The csx 5250 diesel train is the only train that goes on the track around my house and home town. I have never seen another train on the rails and they usually going 2 feet per minute or literally not even moving and when they are going fast its when it has a thousand freight cars and the worse part about that is the tracks are usually on the roads. Any way I like the trains anyway there very nostalgic to me and there the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the words diesel train.
The white roof is actually awesome, it's a trademark of CSX locos. The loco is likely equally scared of the crazy hair on your hands. Perhaps the scale of the lego in the background should bother you more?
You are the first person who pronounced KATO right on CZcams. When people pronounce it KAH- Toe I want to punch them in the face and ask if they did school. There is an O at the end of KATO so the A is strong. Thank you.
@@azuma7628 Yep, I know that's the correct pronunciation, but it just seems wrong in my view, I prefer Kate-Toe. Same goes for Lego vs Legos, Legos just sounds better to me :)
I need guidance about the scales ,are n acale really really small or cool small(as a trains lover , i guess someone should understand me haha) im wondering between n and ho but im afraid ho would be lot bigger
HO is yes a lot bigger. I like N for space constraints and the smaller engines seem more detailed. To put it this way, whatever curve you would do in N, it would be at least double in HO. So you need double the space. Think of the turns, if you need 30 inches for a N turn, that would be 60 inches in HO - almost 5 feet!
It’s the cooking aspect of course. That’s the part to “get.” I understand people might not like it, but you never see it in real life. Trains are pretty tall.
@@killuadre9176 I can see the advantage though, you can have more wireless control and you can run a slow train with full lights at night. With just DC, the lights many not come on until the train is running full speed sometimes, lol.
@@ModelTrainsWow Definitely. You got the cash hell I would do it in a heartbeat. One other alternative is if you have a Tomix controller and train you can make use of the constant lighting feature so lights in that respect can stay on but yes you are definitely correct with the added functionality of DCC.
It has a white top on the cab because that is how the real life engine looks. It makes it look authentic.
Lol, yep. But it's also practical for cooling. But I reserve the right to think it makes it look goofy. Function over fashion I suppose 😆

Yeah! I would recommend getting at least 1, they are pretty nice.
Just found this channel. Good quality.
Thanks for the support! I hope to get more vids out soon....
@@ModelTrainsWow you definitely gave me ways to improve mine....of course i need a new purchase in the meantime 🤣
Great layout. That's the beauty of model railroading. You can build any kind of layout you want.
Haha! Clearly I went for the "fantasy" build vs realism 😂
Very Nice Video! That Layout is Awesome!
Haha, glad you like. I like too! 😄
"Smooth Out of the Gate". I think that should be a Kato trademark. Enjoyed the video- the Legoville is awesome!
Good call! 👍
you should brag about that fun layout, love the toys, fun idea!!
Haha, pretty much my dream living room. I let the look speak for itself, I know it's awesome XD
I dig the lego too man!
Then you might like my Lego channel dedicated to just that:

my cancer doctor told me when the pandemic first started about packages, just wash your hands, so far its worked
Wash your hand before sex too.
Super nice 👍 you have a great channel thanks 😀
Haha, thanks for the support!
@@ModelTrainsWow your welcome 😀

Yep! I don't discriminate, lol. I collect everything that I feel is "cool".
I am going to get one of those myself. I have a BNSF version of this one already.
Well the white roof is correct most CSX locomotives have white roof
Just because it is correct, doesn't mean I like it, lol.
They added the white top so that the cab is cooler in the Florida sun
Yep, figured, but it makes it look funny lol
I like the layout to
Nice.

Haha, well my personal opinion is it throws the whole thing off. Still looks good though.
Idk why KATO named it a ES44DC when it's a ES40DC. I bought that model over the summer in NJ and it runs great!
Nice! Yeah I like the performance.

I calls 'em likes I sees 'em. Bugs me too, right or wrong.
But this K toe pronunciation is wrong. It's Kah toe, カトー. You clearly don't know Japanese.
@@azuma7628 Yep, I know that's the correct pronunciation, but it just seems wrong in my view, I prefer Kate-Toe. Same goes for Lego vs Legos, Legos just sounds better to me :)
Gonna say as well, it’s a Japanese company, so it’s Kah-toe. I don’t mind people saying Kay-toe, just don’t think that’s actually the correct way.
The white on top of the cab is so the un air conditioned cab doesn't get so hot. It does t work all that well.
Cool 😎

that must have been a long couple days.
I was not in any rush 😄
Your train town is awesome
Haha, why thanks! Pretty much how my 6 year old self envisioned his dream living room. He would be proud 😄
Btw it was almost my bday so I kept watching this a lot
In then when it was my bday I got iy
I have the same one but got it as soon as it came out. You can see my review on my channel too
Nice!
I never got the White Top. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
Here here, lol. Can't they just make the trains look cool? 😂

@@andrewlaverghetta715 So then why is it white.???
Im late but do you run this on DC or DCC?
Hi, I only have regular DC so no decoder. Perhaps I'll upgrade one day?
@@ModelTrainsWow Nice! I was just wondering!
@@ModelTrainsWow If you mainly run one train at a time like I do DC is perfectly fine and not worth the extra cost going to DCC

Paint it geeez
Just calling 'em like I sees 'em.
Understand,no need to run it into the ground
Or leave it like the prototype maybe?
Horn?
Is that a es44ac
ES40DC
@@MSRTA_ProductionsES44DC
Kato makes good engines couplers suck though.
They're ok. The custom Tomix ones... those can be a real pain 😂
How I can buy thid train please tell me
It's a CSX....that's what colour they are ...you have no idea...
Just because that's the way it is doesn't mean I can't like it. It's just an option, and that is my idea.
Get over the white top.
Everyone has an opinion, I'm calling 'em like I see 'em.
Get over him having a differing opinion other than you.
You have one es44dc and two sd70ace an I have one sd70ace and two es44dc
Don’t run the trains at full speed for a long time it’s bad for the motors
