Just do a 14.5 if you're going with HUXWRK. Because of where the added material is for the extended flash hider, the overall length for a 13.7 and 14.5 pinned and welded with or without the suppressor are the same length.
That’s true with all P&W uppers. The difference with 13.7”, 13.9” and 14.5” is negligible.
This product is mainly going to help those who already own a 13.7 rifle and would like to have the option of using the HUXWRX suppressors. If you already own a 14.5, there is no need for the extended flash hider being featured in this vid. The 'regular' Flash Hider-QD 556 currently being offered by HUXWRX will bring a 14.5 to the 16" minimum OAL. This is what I currently have installed on my DD M4A1 RIS III. I recently built out a SOLGW/FCD 13.7 rifle, and have a SOLGW NOX pin and welded to the barrel to meet the minimum 16" OAL. Now I am thinking about swapping it over to the HUXWRX extended flash hider when I get my FLOW 556K out of AFT jail. It'll be a bit before it's released tho, so still have time to think about that one. Good times..
@@Antykain You missed the whole point of what I said. The whole point is that if your getting a new setup and want to go HUXWRX and do a pin and weld to get the OAL to 16. Then go for the 14.5 because the extended flash hider for the 13.7 has the added length on the on the barrel side of the muzzle device. So the out come with the suppressor mounted is the same length. Now if you have a NOX muzzled device and a dead air suppressor then the 13.7 will be a little shorter than the 14.5 when the suppressor is mounted on the firearm.
Agree. Plus you get the added velocity of a 14.5” vs 13.9”.
@@monkeycbrownhow are you missing the point of, for those of us that already have a 13.7 this product absolutely has a place. I'm only 5k into that barrel and would like to go to a Flow 556k. Sure for a new barrel it's silly but the product still has a valid demand

Definitely going to be looking to add this new extended Flash Hider-QD 556 to my current SOLGW/FCD 13.7 build. Currently have a NOX pin and welded to meet the 16" minimum OAL, now I am think about swapping over to the extended HUXWRX flash hider made for the 13.7 barrel. Still have time to think about this one tho.. 🤔
What's the point of going 13.7 when you just extend the BASE of the muzzle device? Isn't that just a 14.5 P/W but with more muzzle and less barrel?
Huxwrx's muzzle is already as long as they can internally, so I understand that making the base longer is the only way to bring 13.7 to 16. But you don't get the size and handling advantage like a 13.7 NOX. NOX actually brings the can back to meet where the barrel ends, because Sandman has the room for it.
I LOVE how that looks with the can up tight to the handguard like that! I dont understand the thinking with making the muzzle device longer though. Seems to me like we should be making the muzzle devices as short as possible, and the barrels as long as possible to arrive at 16.001" I totally agree that we should make the overall "system" as short as possible, but barrel length is greater than muzzle device length isn't it?!?!
It is, but when you’re comparing a 13.7 to a 14.5 it’s almost negligible with the fps difference you get

1:51 if the muzzle device is extended to the rear, it won’t increase flash reduction correct? If so, what is the advantage over running a 14.5 or 14.X with the normal flash hider? You would get more barrel length with the same overall length (16”).

Why not just a 14.5 with the standard HUXWRX flash hider? You gain velocity and are at 16.2 overall length. 13.7 and 13.9 doesn’t make sense for working with a HUXWRX can, maybe it does for a Surefire…
