He has a point . I have been to both countries numerous times and it makes sense.socio economically Vietnam is ahead and in terms of culture Vietnamese still adhere or practices their centuries traditional cultures, norms and habits. It's d opposite in most Filipinos. Aping d west , being too agog and immerse in western cultures at d expense of their own Filipino cultures and values. Like u all said , they think all Westerner are rich, wealthy not knowing that many are just earning mediocre salary /income . It makes them look rich in Philippines coz of d dollar conversion rate and very much cheaper lifestyle as compared to d US or other western countries . Of course , there are some middle income retired Westerners who chose Philippines as their retirement place.

I have to agree. I’ve been to Ho Chi Min City and Dalat…I prefer Vietnam over Philippines as well. There is a sugar/carb addition in the Philippines just like the US…the long-term outlook for both populations is dire. Doctors in the US have given up trying to convince people to improve their health through diet. They are highly educated drug dealers. I gave up sugar/carbs 2 1/2 years ago and walk 10 miles every other day, I lost 60 lbs, got off 7 medications I had been on for 20+ years and have had the best blood test results ever. I continue this lifestyle today. i no longer eat for “pleasure.” I eat to live.

When we went to the market in Saigon and Hanoi the vendors are aggressively selling you their merchandise and we also got scammed. After a month there we find the language when they talk in high pitch it starts to hurt our ears. Since English is not spoken by regular Vietnamese it is hard to communicate. So I watch what I eat and do a lot of things, except exercise, my husband is an Irish American we live in California he has 3 kids I have two kids all grown ups and professionals. It’s how you discipline yourself and make your life not just about the lifestyle or traditions, eating a lot of fried, greasy foods, sodas, alcohol. My mom is from the province but she never encouraged us to have a lot of sodas and fried food. We raised our own chickens and vegetables and that’s what I’m teaching my two kids to be self sufficient. So it depends on how you want to be. I’m glad I watched your video Chad thanks for sharing. I mean, I’m not gonna lie. Even my Filipina wife loves Vietnamese food. However, you are in control of your own lifestyle and options for healthy foods in the Philippines are endless. It all has to do with the way that you live your life and the effort you put forward to achieve the health and fitness goals that you set forth for yourself. I think every country in the world has good and bad and it all comes down to personal preference where a person chooses to settle down for life. However, a great fish or chicken tinola (soup) homemade with healthy veggies, or Kinilaw (Filipino ceviche) is hard to beat. Grilled fish is also a very popular item in the Philippines and is very healthy as well. My point is, even though I love Vietnamese food I would tend to spend more time preparing our own food at home and occasionally eating out at restaurants as a treat. I agree, anytime you eat out there are more unhealthy options than healthy options in the Philippines. But you can occasionally find very healthy options while eating out as well. While Vietnamese is spoken by the majority of people in Vietnam, only a quarter of the Filipinos speak Tagalog the official language of the country. That is probably the smartest thing that the Philippines has done is require English to be taught in school and used as an official language. It has prepared many Filipinos for work in other countries as OFW's, and has made the Philippines more popular of a country for tourists and as a retirement place.
When trying to meet an Asian girl online, noticed there were a lot more girls from the Philippines online on dating sites and that was because their are more Filipinas who speak English then other Asian countries.
Agree that Asian women in general are more receptive to dating foreign men. Sounds like the Vietnamese language is more guttural when spoken. Like Korea imho.

But you know the Americans established English as a medium of instruction and official language in the Philippines when they colonized the country in the early 1900s, so maybe not the smartest thing on the part of the Philippines (because it's already there) but of the Americans. Their descendants now can retire comfortably by taking a wife in the Philippines whom they can easily converse with thanks to their English skills. Otherwise Filipinos would have been as difficult to communicate with as the Vietnamese and today's retiree community will have nowhere to get wives from. It's the great American foresight!

Matter of choice. Your guest states his opinion. Everyone is different. However, I do agree with him. If a person feels that they have this need to find a wife or girlfriend 2,500 miles away without even knowing or visiting the country. Then, their problem. Don’t let one’s emotion make the decision or else that will only increase the chances of making a mistake. Moreover, most expats don’t visit two or three countries. Ex. They will fly to PI then settle down less than a year. They might even buy a house and of course under her name. 60yr old marrying a 25yr old. Think before you commit.🤔

No matter how good Vietnam that have better food , cheaper to live, better infrastructures, nice people, etc. It's great to have all of these in Vietnam but how could live in a country that you only communicate with them with their own language and not in English Language. For me that's not life. There's no perfect world but which one you rather chose, the country that have everything you need but cannot be able to communicate to people, a country that has less English speaking people than a country that's not have everything you need but you will be able to communicate with the people, a country that has most English speaking people and be able to laugh with them. I don't know if you noticed that for me, Stephane looks like not a happy person compare to those foreigners that live in the Philippines that looks happy and when they talk about Philippines they look like they are very proud for being in the Philippines, so what that tells you about Stephane, I don't know but what do you think, this is just my observation. I want to retire in a country that I don't need to do anything but just have an open mind and to embrace their culture and to adopt yourself to their foods and eat what ever they can offer that fits your health and for me that country is Philippines. This is just my own opinion that I believe I deserve that you might agree or disagree. No offense intended. God bless.

First of all Stephan seems is French. Remember Indochina was colonized by French so it’s normal he’s more comfortable in Vietnam. Then we apply history which is very important on foreign influence. The Philippines has experienced three periods : the pre colonials, colonial and started as independent country. These were who during pre colonials, Spanish, US, Japanese, then new Philippine self rule. The Pre colonial period from we just say starting 100 yrs up to before 1500 the Philippines were already the biggest melting pot from different natives around 200 indigenous people, where the practice of Bayanihan ( helping each other and accepting different natives), trading each other plus foreign Traders from India then in later years with China in 1200. There was already a Kingdom during pre colonial. Spanish destroyed history and introduced religion etc. Americans came in and then during WW2 the US soldiers were fun of giving chocolates that tag, Hi Joe, chocolate Joe, until at present it’s money. These kids were not trained by parents to ask money but coming from that history.
While Indochina except Thailand we’re under France rule where French culture were introduced including the language etc. They were not colonize from different invaders except France. One good French food introduced was the pot au feu which is called Pho in Vietnam. Their food with some adaptation of French culinary including coffee. The Philippine food has too many influences from different countries ( as we called them now) Now on Social Studies, where young ladies from the Philippines choose the much older is not only for stability but responsibility as married couple where Most Filipino men can’t keep up and most are womanizer. Women felt insecured no matter what age. If they find younger than almost seniors would be the best. These are not materialistic people but more on marriage security, family stability. Filipinos are family oriented, felt insecure when children were abandoned. Sharing small difference. The Philippines is a multi Cultural country even during the pre colonial period

The Department of Health and the DFA in the Philippines do not FULLY support Naturopathic Medicine. The Big Pharmaceuticals lobby in Congress to support their synthetic medicines. Believe it or not, the Philippines is blessed with 22,000 species of medicinal plants, but the government agencies concerned approved only 20+ as natural medicines. The notorious merchants of soft drinks, processed foods, high carbs, etc. dominate the market since they are readily available in supermarkets, sari-sari stores, and everywhere. They are ubiquitous because they pay higher rates of taxes. The major cause of all of these is love of money. The health and wellness of Filipinos must be the utmost priority of the government .

I think when you talk about the quality of life due to the poverty situation, it's just the Western opinion or comparison to what is considered poverty, which essentially relates purely to money. As a filipina who’s married to a foreigner (no crazy age gap), I agree with him. Foreigners in the PH for the most part lives in fantasy that monetary security has nothing to do with these crazy age gap relationships. The number 1 reason for those crazy age gap relationship is money/ better life, not to say that the girl doesn’t really care for you only your money, it just that money is the biggest factor. These crazy age gap are only prevalent with Filipinas in poverty, this is not something you see with well off filipinas, Filipinas with good jobs/ career. When I was in PH I earn about $1300/ month, this is considered pretty good amount in PH specially for my age 26, and all women around me, my peers will never want to be with a man as old as their dad, actually this is considered an embarrassment in our culture but of course with poverty this gets overlooked, in filipino culture there is nothing respectable with a relationship where the man is about the same age as your father or older.
There’s actually a joke started years ago saying “if you wont pass in Thailand/ Vietnam, you can still find wife in PH” 😅 Implying that Filipinas have really lower their standards due to desperation because of poverty.

I’ve dated exclusively Asian women for decades so I understand how to emotionally connect with Vietnamese women. I exclusively date women in 20’s and I never use dating apps. I find Vietnamese women more responsible, accountable and very generous in many ways. To me there isn’t the chaos that exists in Phillipines. I like it’s more organized. I feel the most peaceful in Vietnam. Watch Dan of Vagabond Awake’s interviews of men who have lived in Vietnam for years and have large age gap relationships. Vietnam is nice for a visit but living there? No way for various reasons. First of all the language barrier. Almost no one speaks English and Vietnamese is even harder to learn than Thai. It's a real nightmare. Second is the visa situation. Border runs every 3 months is no way to really "live" somewhere permanently especially because you can't apply for a new evisa from within the country and it can take 1-2 weeks until its approved. So you are basically forced to travel outside the country for 2 weeks regularly. Banking is absolutely terrible. Low ATM limits. Hard to get bank account without work permit. Can't transfer money out of the country via official channels. Then you have the Vietnamese culture which is quite cold and not even close to being as welcoming as other countries in ASEAN.

Lived there for 4 years , there is a surplus of 30yo college educated women there. They do a career and neglect dating. When they hit 30 no men want them. They even have a word for it. Their office coworker men want a 21yo to make babies. So, i estimate 300k surplus women in just the hcmc area. They can be very clingy just like ph gals . I wish they had a better visa, when i was in country there was a 1yr business visa. One of the qualifications was "considering doing business in vn" very easy to get. I think the viet gals are rhe prettiest of all se asia.

Philippines has been heavily influenced by the West (Americans) whereas Vietnam is a Socialist/Communist country and even Malaysia is a strict Muslim country - a lot of social mores by Filipinas are affected by these political history. My thought anyway, am sure someone else has a differing opinion.

Many foreign industries/fsctories that established originally in the Philippines have moved to Vietnam, and one reason is the amount of corruption in the Philippines' government at all levels.

@@ChadFosterExplores the corruption at all levels of government is rampant and unfortunately this attitude permeates to the people. Almost every adult or children is somehow trying to take advantage of foreigners and visitors. I witnessed a lot of this when I was there, taxi drivers trying to take advantage, the "Kano tax", children in the streets and many other ways to extort money at all levels of society. I hardly see things improving, the people elected as president the son of the most corrupt politician and former president Ferdinand Marcos. They didn't learn anything from history or experience.
In Vietnam and China there is death penality for corruption, in the Philippines if you are a top crook you can be a politician.

When most Filipinos go abroad, their primary concern is to find work and earn money to send back home. In contrast, foreigners living abroad often prioritize finding a good wife and ensuring a comfortable and convenient lifestyle, avoiding inconveniences and displaying impatience.
