  • Waylon Jennings & the Waymore Blues Band, “Never Been To Spain”, from Never Say Die: The Final Concert Film, Nashville, Jan. '00
    Listen to Waylon Jennings: WaylonJennings.lnk.to/essenti...
Waylon Jennings played his last major concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in January 2000. Backed by the all-star Waymore Blues Band (“the band I always wanted,” he later recalled) along with his wife Jessi Colter and guests John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry, Waylon delivered a moving, exhilarating performance, revisiting his greatest songs one last time.

    Lyrics:
Well I've never been to Spain but I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there and they sure know how to use it
They don't abuse it can't refuse it never gonna lose it
Well I've never been to England but I kinda like the Beatles
I was headed for Las Vegas I only made it out to Needles
But can't you feel it you must believe it cause it feels so good
Well I've never been to heaven but I've been to Oklahoma
People tell me I was born there Lord I really don't remember
In Oklahoma or Arizona what does it matter
Well I've never been to Spain...

First album I ever purchased on my own: "Waylon Jennings- Love of the Common People". First live show I ever attended: "Waylon Jennings at the Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling". First autograph I ever acquired in person: "You guessed it- WAYLON"! I had a lot of musical heroes growing up and continuing throughout my lifetime, and sadly the first Hero I had to pass away was also Waylon. I thought the man could walk on water and would never die. Thank GOD his music lives on FOREVER. There is nothing quite as sad as watching your heroes die.

Later on, I had to shuffle a few things over to the passenger side to make a little room,.....didn't know at the time, but turned out to be my wife for many years (stop counting at 25). His health was failing he had vascular disease in his legs, which i know he had to be in pain. What that man was like my father had will you didnt stop , you didnt complain. He was on oxygen which is why i think he had help from his band singing, but when it was his turn he still found the oxygen to sing better or just ss good. Was an amazing ralationship with his wife, was i was a child i would always want to grow up and look like her. At 7 years old i asked for one thing for christmas an organ, we didnt have money for no piano. My. Mom bought me a stand up in the 70s they were wood on both. Sides just plain wood. But i sit in front of that organ put her album in and my 7 year old self tried to listen to the keys. I wish my mom give me lessons. I might of been a woman but in my 20s if i had had lesson and my never give up . I was built good with dark dark hair and tan. I would of been a kickass key board player. Now im over 50 with stage 3 breast cancer and my hair is two inches maybe and grey in the fron and still a dark patch in the back. But i love memories when im in pain cant sleep. I listen to waylon then jessi then both. But i spent hours a day playing that memorizing every key. We moved back to tennessee and they broke that organ. I was to young to know that might of been my future. Waylon ronnie van zant willie nelson jessi colter and the legend, i have a big hoodie with him on it JOHNNY CASH THE LEGEND THE MAN IN BLACK. THANK YOU FOR GETTING ME THROUGH THE HARD DAYS OF THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE CALLED CANCER. FOR THE ONES WE LOST R.I.P. FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL 74 YR OLD PIANO PLAYER, YOU STILL LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND SYILL PLAY LIKE AN ANGEL. IF MY MOM ONLY KNEW HOW MUCH I LOVED MUSIC AND GOT ME A TEACHER. BUT SHE THOUGHT I JUST WAS TRYING TO BE GROWN. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE YEARS

Waylon had diabetes. Which it takes a toll on your body over the years, of you don't keep it maintained. Which I'm sure he did. Love his music, still going strong today..

Could you tell me please if that is Carters husband playing the keyboard and the name of the girl playing violin and does she now play on the Penny Gilley show.. I was so glad to see so many exerpts from Waylon’s final concert back on you tube again. I saw the full concert two or three years ago and then it disappeared. Its a treat to revisit this final concert and hear that wonderful voice of his as well his beautiful Jessie. Thank you.

It was the sound that free Americans made and loved before being programmed by electronic, Wizard of Oz BS as to what will be allowed from the day one is old enough to watch a simulated image and push a button to change the image.
