- You want to know what "timeless" is? You want to know what a good car investment is? You want to know what an amazing interior feels like? Here's everything. Here's the first generation Acura NSX. The car that Honda didn't have to make, but did.
Clarification: The PlayStation 1 was released in Japan in 1994 and 1995 in North America. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Pop up headlights alone add 25k to the price
👌
Tell it to mkIII Supras.
The Almighty Cornholio only 25k
MY dude pop up headlights quadruple the price of it
Really??
Pretty true, especially with the NSX, since the ones with pop-ups cost way more than the redesign with fixed headlights (stupid new laws, fuckin' up all the great cars). But, pop-up headlights are original, striking, and show that you are not someone who drives a new car. Not to mention, so many cars with them are SO iconic, like the NA Miata, RX-7, AE86, and of course, the NSX.
When this car was still on showroom floors, I remember reading a road test that summed it up like this:
Only Honda could engineer a car that can bore you with blinding speed. What would require shaking and screeching and all manner of commotion, the NSX does smooth, silent and with ease."
the NSX makes me feel a lot better about my 2000 accord coupe, their rear ends are so similar
I bought my 2002 Accord coupe because of that and drove it for the next 14 years!
the rear end of 2000 accord coupe looks like nsx with a down syndrome, im so sorry.

@@igorcywinski7477 be nice. From an NSX and Accord coupe owner
No mention of Ayrton Senna.
I'm impressed.

"THE SENNA IS OVERWHELMING, IT'S SO SENNA THAT MY SENNA IS SQUIRTING SENNAS. OMG SENNA!!!!!"

Honda NSX: Italian Style, Japanese Quality.
Today,Italian quality are better.Look for Alfa Romeo, Maserati etc.
@@the_normal Maserati has had cars with various recalls and are owned by crappy corporations
@@the_normal What? They're just as bad as they've ever been. The new Giulia is a mass of electrical gremlins, the new Ghibli is full of corner cutting etc

In terms of looks, the NSX had aged so incredibly well. Like a fine wine.
PS: that hip hop piece was fire at the end.
I'd listen to the full version of that outro rap. That shit was legit.
Yo yo yo muhdick! yeah...
CJ Nortier yes dude
Lemon Scented sounds like early 2000’s rap
Lemon Scented Yo that shit was gangsta!
Those rhymes are cold. But it reminds me less of Southerplayalistic, Ready to Die, and Illmatic (all 1994!), more like Q-Tip's 1999 Amplified.
this is a sick love letter to the NSX
The bad thing about 1994 is that Ayrton Senna died. He helped develop the NSX.
I like to think that a small part of his soul resides in each NSX.
It does. Honda specifically asked him what they needed to fix after he said he wasn't qualified to have an opinion on a mass production car. So he was honest. And what they fixed is the reason this car is so good. When they fixed the stiffness, he drove it in loafers. He loved it.
Horcruxes!
I was in the mountains in Nagano (Japan) and I came across AT LEAST 50 90s NSXs driving in a line. It was a NSX meetup, and to see so many of these cars I’ve idolized since I was a kid was pretty cool.

Although TBH, I'd probably drive one these everyday because fuck I don't care about gaining mileage. Cars are meant to be driven.
Welp im gonna do the exact opposite
- some collector
But still it's sad
Hey look it’s Balded Angle
I agree. I just got an import 1996 SVX S4 trim, only 125k km, clocked in 15000 km in just 6 months, daily that thing in freakin salty Toronto. AMSOIL fluids, 91 fuel, and constant touchless car wash, roll like a boss with a purpose. I want my SVX to hit half a million km, I want it to hit a million afterwards. A car that sits has no purpose, however a daily car has all the purpose.
some cars didn't meant to be driven but honda be damned if the nsx wasn't a ferrari beater and a daily driver in the same time. I am Soichiro Honda and i'll make enzo turn in his grave .
This comment and every reply to it, is the correct take : ) I wish instead of a maximum mileage on a ferrari lease that there was a minimum mileage on awesome cars. I know it means they get a little more beat up, some get wrecked, some get rusty. Good. That means they're being used, that's a worthy price to pay for cars like this to be out rippin around
That's 30 minutes away........I'll be there in 10
Nine minutes and 37 seconds later:
Pulp fiction 😄😄
The wolf
I actually forgot the NSX was driven by that guy in Pulp Fiction, thanks for reminding me!
Shoot, that's all you had to say!
I don't mind the new one, but I don't think it's as cool as this.
+silvergbasp13 yeah but the 2002 nsx doesnt have pop ups. And nsx pop ups suck. I just like how aggresive this simple box car looks. Unlike the new NSX that looks like an 2009 civic took parts of a lambo and placed it on as aero.
I like this and but I've aways liked the look of the fixed headlights of the 02-05 models btw I've aways loved that look on twilights face XD
*****
Headlights go up, headlights go down!
One version of the new NSX I'd like to see is one that strips out the AWD hybrid gear and replaces the silly 9 speed with something like a 6 speed sequential or something, making it a purely RWD car with a turbo six. Something akin to the 911 GT3.
Spike Blade saw a 1991 NSX on CarGurus recently going for only $25,000, and only has 50,000 miles on it. It’s an automatic though, probably explains why the other ones I see there are going for 50-100k
"The only time we really saw this car was from the back on gran turismo 1 when the computer was beating you" this guy is hilarious
he's right.
"The styling is TIMELESS!"
*focus in on pop-up headlamps*
Okay, but the post facelift NSX though.
I love popup headlights:p
I've always wanted one of these. Literally always. Since the day I was born in 1976.
Forehead Jones wut?
Forehead Jones Are you a wizard?
I've seen one at a dealership for only 34k. There not that expensive.
Forehead Jones literally always? you were born and you immediately wanted an nsx?
brad cool Yes. It's the car I've always wanted.
Roman's rap at the end is so fantastic
That was better than even the best rhymes Kayne could spew.
The amount of great albums released in 1994 is just staggering.
This car is the hottest car made in the 90’s. Car of the decade.
Those sport coupe with pop up lights have a big effect on kids. (no pedobear)
I drive a red MR2 SW20 and nobody gives a fuck except kids. Every-time I pass in front of kids they react like it was a ferrari lol.
Maybe it's a car for those who are still kids in their heads.
+Pow3rus They probably are too young to remember when the motor that pops up the lights would go out, and you had to drive around with them up all the time.
+Pow3rus Yeah , i got same on my Ford probe Gt ;D
+Pow3rus Haha, I get the same reaction from kids with my NA Miata. They just stare at the headlights.
+Pow3rus
Hey Bro, I drive a Yellow MR2 SW20.
Kids love em and older people chindrop thinking it's an ferrary.
Love my MR2. Sweet car, Great comfort and luxury.
+Pow3rus yes dude. one kid stomp on my RS13 (240sx here) and said "look mom a black ferrari"
That freestyle at the end was dope, like Nas in 94..
Crazy Oj got parole today lol.
another reason 1994 was a great year.
Let's not forget ready to die by BIG

He got them street bars. Earned his pass righteously.
They nailed the interior design of the NSX. Gorgeous. It doesn’t look new, but it doesn’t look ancient. As you said, it’s beautifully timeless. It’s very easy on the eyes and everything just looks...right. Interesting tread pattern on the spare.
One of the funniest, yet informative reviews ever! Thank you for making this video. I am delighted to have one - 1991.
The Honda NSX is BY FAR not a Regular Car.
agree
Try reading the name of the show like: Regular, car reviews. As in the reviews are for normal people. It's also a joke.
+TheBajamin Fist of all there is no , after regular, so this actually means Reviews of REGULAR everyday cars.
Secondly, all reviews are meant for Regular People.
Thirdly I was also joking, kindaaa....
You are a very un-fun person who takes life too literal. Consider relaxing.
+TheBajamin that's funny cause my friends always wonder how I can always be so funny and happy.
You don't know me !
But the point here is that I was right, you was wrong, and the NSX is still anything but an ordinary car.
In 1994, I was:
- Watching the Fresh Prince of Bel Air
- Playing Sonic 3 and Knuckles
- Listening to Collective Soul
- Staring at the Acura NSX poster in my bedroom
I wish I was 9 again.

andxx0r_the_second Ayrton Senna died dude, Ayrton Senna died...
Kaisuke971 How are Ayrton Senna and Pink Floyd the same? Their last big hits were the wall!
I'm a fan of the guy, I was sad when his death was all over the TV in 1994, I own the movie on DVD, but I wish his widows would shut the hell up sometimes. Thanks, RegularCars, for not making the OMG SENNA DROVE AND HELPED WITH THIS CAR!!!!1 connection.
andxx0r_the_second I wasn't even born yet though
andxx0r_the_second Me too, however today I watched some Fresh Prince at work, listened to some N.W.A and watched a review on a NSX.
I wish I could afford an NSX.
Had a 92, it was amazing and extremely comfortable. When you accelerate the front end wanted to take off. Wonderful daily.
DAILY?! 🧐 if you had too much money buy me one 😂😂
You have to agree that actually seeing one is a privelage
I see one every day but it’s been parked for over 10 years. :(
Did some digging and it’s a 1991 with 98k miles, last registered in 2007. Makes me sad to see it die but it’s not for sale and costs to get it sorted would probably be astronomical.
$50,000? the Type Rs and some later models are even more expensive. Well screw my retirement money Im buying an NSX.
Cesar Cantu at first they sold for more.
Cesar Cantu hope you went through with it and bought 4. Cause you’re done saving lmao.
That's crazy for a driver, maybe an investment. $50k will get you a really great Vette
Classic cars are more fun and have actual car-guy type feel when driving. What grown man wants traction control and airbags? For one, ruins design. For two, it's for pussies
@@CaptainFALKEN I think is the first time I've heard someone shit on airbags lmfaooo
1994 was also Super Metroid and Doom II: Hell on Earth.
And I was born haha
And the death of Richard M Nixon.
And the introduction of the B-body Impala SS, the 4th-gen Mustang, and 6th-gen Celica. And um... white text on the gauges of the Camaro, and some important change in the type of sensor in the intake of GM's LT1 engine. What else.. Kurt Cobain died, too.

I honestly perfered doom 1
because doom 2 had a jumping section 2 lvls in on underhalls that i couldn't beat because the PlayStation 1 version was broken.
Some cars never look dated, always cool and timeless. This is certainly one of them. Always a head turner.
it is unbelievable how well the NSX has aged. the coolest car.

when i sold the nsx back in 1991 the key was actually made of titanium. in connection with the titanium elements that were implemented into the car's engine. ;-)
I had no idea you watched regular car reviews that's awesome!!! PS I love the NSX one of the best Japanese cars ever produced plus I already watched you quickie car review on it!!!!
Grant Moseley he he he first and foremost i'm a "real car" nut... hot wheels just make it possible for me to fulfill that hunger lol without trying to be jay leno's garage lol
The NSX to me is one of my favorite attainable sports cars (hell you can argue it’s a supercar). Out of the C5 Corvette, NA Miata, Subaru STI and Evo 9, this is probably my second favorite one since the entinte Corvette line is my favorite car ever. But the NSX provides s i m p l i c i t y . In a world filled with straight pipes, turbo hood exit exhausts and crazy rolled fenders with tighter fitment than a nun’s asshole, the NSX gives enough power but a beautiful amount of handling. Oh and the body, bless the body lines, bless the makers of this vehicle. Bless the late Ayrton Senna (he makes me proud to be Brazilian at least), because without Honda and Senna what car would take the NSX’s place? All the Italian supercars came with too much horsepower and looked like a kindergartener’s wet dream, there was always space for a fantastic handling, decent horsepower, mid engine, manual car, but there was no car in the space until the NSX came by. Bless the NSX
Wild _Toilet it is a super car. what part about it isn't a super car? it fills all the requirements to be one.
@@ahapainenpaavo6010 not nearly enough power to be a supercar. if handling alone were enough, then things like the lotus elise would be a supercar. the NSX is exactly what the OP said it is.
sproly born Not enough power? This car was made to beat Ferraris and that's what it did.
@@ahapainenpaavo6010 It beat SOME ferraris. I would also argue that the 348, the one the NSX beat is not a supercar either because it too lacks power in the context of a supercar. The supercar of that year made by ferrari was the 512. The NSX did not beat the 512.
sproly born So you think a super car needs to hit some magical horsepower number in order to be a supercar. this is hopeless.
"Because being someone else's life preserver is not what i call progress" That phrase makes mes come back to this video again and again.
That rap at the end....excellent!
damn that shifter is so narrow i thought it was automatic
I have to say this now.. I ve been watching your videos through the years ...and i love them..you are doing a great job! great camera work and the style of your "monologue",the specific way you have to tell the story it is awesome!! You know how to share the passion you have with cars! 😎👌🍷

Who needs top gear when you have RCR
Oliver Hilton
You need RCR because you CAN'T have Top Gear!
But sadly in 1994 our hero Ayrton Senna died.
Didn't he love NSXs? Or was that another F1 racer...
ShiftyWilliaml He was the test drive for it's development
ShiftyWilliaml dude he made the NSX. He literally worked with Honda to develop it. So the NSX literally drives the way Ayrton Senna wants it to drive.
ShiftyWilliaml he tested one of the prototypes and gave feedback, from memory he convinced the designers to stiffen the chassis more which apparently made the car somewhat better
Senna was in part of developing the nsx

Mitsubishi GTO MR '95 (after '95 they stopped doing active aero, and swapped to that stupid monstrous wing)
Nissan Skyline GTR R33 '95
Toyota Supra RZ (MK IV '95)
Honda NSX '95
Subaru Impreza WRX STI '95 (2nd Gen had those stupid bug headlights)
The mid 90's was such a great year for cars.
hmmm, the list thought, referring to Gran Turismo main car, right?,
Gara Von Hoiwkenzoiber "Nissan Skyline GTR R33 '95"
yeh except the R33 was biggger, slower, heavier, and you didnt have the fuse trick for the diff like you did with the R32 GTR.
honestly the R33 was just a downgrade
Gara Von Hoiwkenzoiber And the forgotten rally god: Celica GT4.
King Geedorah Actually the R33 was a faster car around the track than the 32. Also, they aged much better than the 32 did. The 32 feels like an ancient heap of shit when you're in it, but the 33 still feels modern. And fuse trick, who cares? Why would you buy an AWD car just to haphazardly make it RWD?
koopatroopa187"Actually the R33 was a faster car around the track than the 32"
do you have a source for this? i would love to see it considering the handling of the R33 is much worse due to its weight.
"Also, they aged much better than the 32 did. The 32 feels like an ancient heap of shit when you're in it,"
that entirely depends on the car and its owner.
"And fuse trick, who cares? Why would you buy an AWD car just to haphazardly make it RWD?"
this is a matter of opinion, just because you dont see a use for it doesnt mean that it is useless.

R2D2 one sorry ment to tag op
MrTabarnaco2 Nah, you'd be better off getting something like a brand new Focus ST, it'd murder this on any track and you'd have a bucketload of money left over to make it go even faster & no originality or rarity guilt about modifying it or wrecking it. This is not a fast car in the modern world. No doubt rewarding to drive, but not fast. Good investment too.
MrTabarnaco2 you don't race investments....unless you can afford 2
