  • Watch as the Two Guys Garage crew install an ACCEL Points Eliminator Conversion Kit on their 1969 Camaro. By utilizing specialized electronic circuitry and an infrared signal, these kits stabilize ignition timing from 1 to 10,000 rpm, and offer more accurate ignition timing.

Just installed this kit on a 69 Cadillac with a 472 and it works perfectly! installed without removing the distributor. Faster starts and runs much better.

It would have been nice to see him do everything step-by-step rather than hearing him say what he did after. He also stated he lubricated and didn't recommend what kind of lubrication to use.

If i get the accel ignition module to eliminate the points... what kind of ignition coil should i use... universal or breakerless... does it make a difference?

Hi Alen, Accel recommends the ACC-8140

      Or the ACC-8140C

ACC-2010ACC fits 1957-74 GM applications with a Delco single or dual-point distributor, including your 1970 Buick Riviera.

These things are cheaply manufactured and are a waste of money. I bought a kit and the plastic pieces that attaches to the bottom of the centrifugal advance broke with ease during the install. With good quality parts this kit would be worth it, but the parts are cheap. My advice is to either invest in a new distributor or go with a magnetic kit like the Pertronix 1181.
