- Nicholas de Rothschild (known to everyone at Exbury Gardens as Mr Nick) has one of the best collection of nerines in the world. They are cultivated and grown at Exbury Garden in The New Forest by Theo Herselman. Theo was a farmer in Zimbabwe before he moved to UK where he got a job at Exbury looking after the nerines. In the programme Theo explains how he ended up working at Exbury for Mr. Nick looking after the collection of nerines and all about their history. He also explains how to grow them from seed and their requirements to flower.

Thank God for people like these, obviously, so much would be lost to the sands of time if it weren't for the work of all conservationists, each working in their own fields to keep good things like these Nerines flourishing, well done Mr Nick and Theo!
Thank you I am so pleased you enjoyed the programme.
That was a fascinating film. I never knew anything about and I was enthralled
Exbury Gardens are a treasure, but I didn't know about the nerines. What a wonderful collection that is! Thank you for another fascinating video.
I must admit Jim I didn’t until our visit the other day and we saw the exhibition. Thank you for your lovely comments there are many more programmes to come.
Great to see lovers of plants passing down their work to others! Brought back into the family and advanced breeding continuing to grow and change the collection. Just goes to show what idle money allows one to achieve.
Thank you Steve. I just love the way that Theo has learnt by trial and error and he said to me "I have never killed one yet".
What an excellent video Dave. I'm really loving this new original content
Thank you Hugh. I have lots more programmes in idea form just now need to find time to make them all.
Fabulous. Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching.
Quit beautiful colors.
They are aren’t they. Unfortunately it is impossible to get how much they glitter in the sunlight on the film.
Fascinating film 🎥!!!!! Love it 👍👍
A wonderful and informative little film and as always thank you for sharing
It is my absolute pleasure and I am so pleased people are enjoying it. Thank you Mark.
@@DaveKnowlesFilmmaker Credit where it's due Dave and look forward to seeing many more of your work
Very interesting story, linked in to trading routes of old. Really well narrated and filmed. Must take quite some work just to keep that collection going without trying to expand it.
Good luck from Spain!!
Thank you David. It is an amazing collection and the way Theo has developed it with no original knowledge of the plant is incredible.
It's been a fantastic year for them I've never seen so many flowers as this year.
Must be down to the drought and heat.
Yes Theo said to me this years drought has really helped make it a memorable year.
Great video and what a super plant. I wonder how much they cost?
I delivery to exbury gardens most days. I always wondered what was the gallery
It changes from time to time. Often it is art exhibitions but also weddings. My elodest daughter was married in the gallery.
