"What would you change?" Honestly, at this point, the one thing I would change is ever becoming a Leafs fan. I've never been so close to crying during a hockey game before this. Being a Leafs fan is like being in a toxic relationship. Being a Leafs fan is setting yourself up for disappointment and heartbreak. At this point, man, i'm angry and sad and all of the above and I know there's no point. I had this underlying numbness and lack of hope settling in my heart as soon as Montréal scored those 2 goals in the first. I can't even begin to explain how frustrated and depressed I am because of this. I've dedicated all my life to this team. It's a toxic and vicious cycle of loyalty and commitment that I can't help but feel will only lead to being disappointed over and over again. I don't know whether these feeling's are towards this hockey team, or myself for still blindly believing in this hockey team. I'm just so tired.
Honestly couldn't have said it better myself, I've been a leafs fan for as long as I can remember, but honestly, this constant let down, this constant false hope from being up 3-1 in a series and still being eliminated, it drains u man, it really does, honestly I don't even wanna watch game 7, cuz in my head, I know what's gonna happen
As a Winnipeg boy growing up with no NHL team, I cheered for the Leafs as they were usually the team CBC would cover on Saturdays. The second they announced the Jets were getting a team back I dropped the Leafs like a bad habit. Haven't missed them for a moment. I'll make you a guarantee, the Leafs will never win a Stanley Cup again. Yes technically you can argue they have a chance every season, but I'm telling you this now as honestly as I can. It's NEVER going to happen. This isn't like the Red Sox, this isn't like the Cubs, this isn't like the Cavaliers, this isn't like Liverpool FC. The Leafs are cursed in a way beyond any franchise in pro sports and it's going to stay that way for the rest of our lives and the lives that come after. As soon as you make peace with this, the sooner you'll be able to heal.
I can’t imagine what he’s going through. He’s cheered for this team his entire life and they fail, again and again. The pieces are there, the management is there. It just falls apart no matter what they do. Be well Steve, I do hope you take care of yourself.

They lose Monday and you change everything. Dubas, fired. Keefe and staff, fired. Shanahan, Fired. Marner, Traded. Matthews, Traded. Nylander, Traded, Reilly, trader, Dermott, let go to Kraken. Start from ground zero. How much worse can it get, than to lose the the worst team to make the playoffs in decades, in a season you never played a single top 10 team.
I moved to the GTA from the US in December and my roommate is a Leafs fan. Being a Sabres fan, I have a unique and deep understanding of unending disappointment and disbelief your team can give you. I wish I could say something to reassure you, but I can't. I have watched most of the Leafs games this season with my roommate, partly in support of my roommate, partly because it was nice to watch hockey that didn't make me want to fling myself off the CN Tower. I've realized that I have affection for a lot of the players because when I do, I refer to them by their first names like we're pals. I have always loved John Tavares, so rooting for him is no chore. Watching this has been brutal and it's not even my team (and my team is basically the very definition of brutal). One of my favorite players to watch on the Leafs is Marner and he IS KILLING ME. Mitchie, buddy, I can't lose more players to misery. I have enough of that in Buffalo, you gotta find yourself, my dude. This series is giving me serious flashbacks to the last time the Sabres were in the playoffs and they had the series in their hands and TOTALLY BLEW IT. Anyway, we enjoy your videos a lot and not just when you freak out. I really appreciate your approach to the sport. If I ever see you in the "wild", your coffee is on me.

I'm a Lightning fan who loves your channel, you bring passion and can credit opposing teams because you can be objective in spite of your Leafs fandom, which is refreshing. Don't risk your health over the performance of any sports team. Toronto has to want it more, they have to win the puck battles and let Montreal know they are there, check the body, play physical. They have the talent, it's the will and desire that makes the difference. Game seven should be epic.
I just want to let Steve know that he is super cathartic to watch after these games. I know you are suffering with this team Steve, but you really are making some of us feel a bit better, incase that means anything. Don't let yourself feel too down man.
Visiting this CZcamsr is my guilty pleasure. I think it says something bad about me that I enjoyed every second of that ...oh, yeah, Montrealer here... I used to live in Toronto and I loved it, too. Nice town. Basketcase hockey team. And fans.
I think Steve nailed it when he said this team is simply 'Haunted'. Staff changes. Players change. Same result. Same feel. No finish. No killer instinct.
Not really..... y’all have had the same 11 mil players for what 5 years now? They’re the issue. They’re not getting paid can do money, they’re being paid maybe money. You need to ship out one or two of the core pieces for can do players. Y’all shipped out your last great can do player in Kessel, just you didn’t surround him with other players to assist him like you did with Mathews. Funny how the fans chase players out of Toronto and then they play ten fold better out of the franchise. Keefe needs to go, you need a trotz!
Problem is the template for the team...Dubas fault keeps doubling down on a failure of a blueprint he built a team that does well in reg season but no heart for playoffs
As much as I laugh at the leafs sometimes as a bruins fan this team passes me off. With the off-season they had and the roster on paper tells me this team should at least make it to the second round in the playoffs. It's getting ridiculous and I'm saying this as a BRUINS FAN I hope steve finds more then peace in after next game cuz steve (and also leaf fans in general) need it.

When you talk about branching out to reach a wider audience, I feel like you should know that I for one am a Penguins fan and watch every single one of your LFRs. I have no real vested interest in the Leafs, but I've yet to find anyone who does what you do for my team or any other team and as such, I'm here regardless of which team you're rooting for and I hope you keep making these because they're super entertaining. For your health though, I'm hoping the Leafs can actually pull through for once. 😅

The last "What would you change?" part of this rant really hurt to hear. It's the realization that this may be this teams last real shot at a good cup run at what you could consider a very talented roster that's at their peak that has simply underperformed at every key moment in their current stint. I'm a Coyotes fan. There's nothing, but we know that. Leafs have what it takes, but they just never seem to get over that hump.
and that's precisely why, as a coyotes fan as well, I would kill to have an org like the Leafs to support over the Coyotes. But I stick myself to them and wish for the best that has hopefully yet to come.
Man, I am anti-leafs but I feel your pain so much. That heartbreak and emotion from you is how much I feel for the Oilers and the Decade+ of darkness. You have Matthews and the Richard, we have McDavid and everything else. After watching this video though, I'm actually hoping for the Leafs next game, and I never thought I'd say that, because of how much I like and respect you.
no wonder you feel a kinship. your teams have the same problem: your skill players have no grit. at least nurse gave a shit. but you're worse off, as your starting goalie is 39. maybe you can sign andersen, he's a huge upgrade on koskinen. you're toronto, but worse.
To be honest Steve, I’ll follow any content you do, if moving to more broad content will let you be happier and have more creative freedom, then I’m all here for it.

And let the show begin
"What would you change?"
Honestly, at this point, the one thing I would change is ever becoming a Leafs fan.
I agree with everything you’ve said here.... sadly
If Toronto doesn’t come out and DOMINATE game 7 in every damn way, I’ll be done as a Leaf fan.
You are not alone!! I say every year I am never watching them again...
I can’t imagine what he’s going through. He’s cheered for this team his entire life and they fail, again and again. The pieces are there, the management is there. It just falls apart no matter what they do. Be well Steve, I do hope you take care of yourself.
Could've been smart and chose a different team.
in the end it comes down to the players. They played like they didn't care minus a few. One of those few being my man Spezza
Try being a panthers fan
@@ObtuseMoose still harder being a leafs fan. Who knows how much bigger our fan base is. I would easily argue expectations for this team are far bigger than the panthers right now as well

When you said "what would you change?" that really hit hard. They've literally changed everything they could and still nothing.
Trade the entire team for draft picks and prospects and start over. Maybe they’ll acquire some WINNERS
I can see holes in the leafs. Plenty of changes if you ask me
They lose Monday and you change everything.

You need to ship out one or two of the core pieces for can do players. Y’all shipped out your last great can do player in Kessel, just you didn’t surround him with other players to assist him like you did with Mathews. The last "What would you change?" part of this rant really hurt to hear.
