@@jakeengb Very true, but Mike's weakness was certainly his stubborness especially when it came to gameplans that he had. He once told Red Wings press that "the tie goes to the veteran" when it came to which veteran or rookie he would put on the ice.
Capt_Chuckles well it clearly worked for a mainly veteran red wings team but it’s quite clear that it doesn’t work with Toronto when most of your talent is coming from kids. He definitely needs to change that mindset if he wants to stay in Toronto which I imagine he does.

Don't feel bad about that. Bruce Cassidy is one hell of a coach, even without a lot of NHL mileage. He was the best coaching prospect the AHL has had in a long time, and he's been involved with the Boston Bruins ever since he was just 17 years old. He knows what he's doing, and there's no shame in losing a Game 7 to him.

Not a Leafs fan, but I am a Cubs fan, and I can tell you right now that there really is no greater feeling than seeing the team you love finally reach the mountain top for the very first time except for the feeling knowing you never stop believing it could happen.
I hope you get to experience that feeling Steve, I hope the rest of Leafs National gets to feel that feeling someday, y’all are a fantastic group of truly dedicated fans. And I hope you all get to experience that feeling really soon. Y’all deserve it.

It is April 30th 2024 at the time I write this. I watched this video when this first happened. I have not watched this video since, and yet today of all days, when the Leafs are down 3-1 in the series to Boston, facing elimination, CZcams has popped this up on my recommended list to watch.
And now we have a game 7 lol
Ok, so it's untimely, but just saw this and as an (ought to be) committed Habs fan of 53 yrs, Dangle has the gift as well as my sympathies - though not my empathy, as even Habs nation can't relate to such heartbreak (a 27 yr SC drought notwithstanding!). I have never seen an independent sports "analyst" combine the endurance of Koresh, the penetrating insight of Hitchens and the fervor of Wolfberg, but with every word, not just the last one of every other sentence. Brilliant, just brilliant entertainment. The Best of my favorite sports enthusiasts!
From a Caps fans point of view: Fans like Steve make me sad that the Leafs lost because they are so fun to watch. But then there are the fans who believed that just because they got Tavares and had this "Great Young Core" that everything would be handed to them. Regular season pain is nowhere near postseason pain. Just because you are young and talented doesn't mean you will even win a cup, look at the Rangers in the past decade, or the Flyers to the Sharks and Canucks. Nothing is handed to you and thats what makes it wort it in the end. If Oshie and Kempnys injuries happened last year we would have surley not been cup champs. It involves a little bit of luck along the way. The Stanley Cup is won in April May and June, it's not won in the summer or because you have a young core remember that. But if your day comes, enjoy it

Cheer up, you have a good team and you took a very good playoff team to 7 games. I'm a Canucks fan and for years every time we were in the playoffs we got knocked out by the Blackhawks. It took us 3 tries but we finally got the monkey off our back and have played them straight up ever since. I’m a diehard Bruins fan and the Leafs were the better team for most of the series. Game 7 really could of gone either way, unfortunately Leafs just couldn’t find it. You guys have an incredible team and you have to keep in mind that the core is still all kids and it’s huge for them to get these game 7 experiences this early in their careers. I think starting next year Toronto will be making a lot of deep playoff runs. So keep your head up man because the Leafs have a bright future!!

3:20 I have never seen Steve more angry and red faced then this. I felt bad when I watched this video because I was so happy the bruins were moving on, but at the same time they were eliminating the leafs again for the second year in a row, and I couldn’t imagine what the leafs and their fans were going through. The leafs are my second favorite team and I really hope they get over the hump this year, even if it means taking down my bruins
