Nuln Engineer special ability: Nuln Oil. Drops pot on enemies causing them to have better defined shading in exchange for 10.99

Theodore Bruckner is from the Nemesis Crown stuff that this DLC is heavily based on. He was the right hand man of the Elector Count of Nuln, and worked closely with Elspeth to help defeat Tamurkhhan at the end of the storyline.
Edit: he's from Tides of Decay, not Nemesis Crown. Not sure how I got those two mixed up.

I forgot about the Nemesis Crown. It would be a damned shame if we didn’t get that in Immortal Empires. Serving a role similar to the Sword of Khaine.

Big improvement on the Shadows of Change debacle, and the fact you can buy each faction individually if you prefer is pretty cool
I have been holding out on a new Empire campaign for SOOO long, almost since WH2 (did one a few months after launch of WH2 with the hunter LL but none since). Will definitely get Elspeth, probably Maalaki as well just for the slayers and Thunderbarge even if the modded barge is pretty good, it will be removed once CA's own content is out.
I hope Elspeth starts in the east because I can't see CA putting her right by Gelt and KF but having a new start locations and ability to travel via Gardens of Morr sounds perfect for the Empire to make any campaign about colonizing the Southlands or the east as the Empire. I know Volkmar is in the Southlands but he doesn't feel like he is colonizing while there, was a weird choice by CA to put him there anyway. Elspeth feels better with death magic to fight TK, Arkhan, LM, Mannfred, etc.
Tamurkhan... least interesting to me. I just don't like Nurgle or any Chaos factions other than Slaanesh or Tzeentch. I am still refusing to buy SoC, the handful of Tzeentch units are simply not worth it because I have nearly zero interest in everything else and even with reduced price.... nah.
@AlanLamb11 I'd expect them to move Gelt rather than have Elspeth outside of Nuln given the whole "Gunnery School" mechanic. Could have a split start like Yuan Bo.... also my brother in Tzeentch you have not lived until you have roasted a whole army with changebringers. Flamers on discs, the ultimate unit melter
The expanded slayer roster might make them an interesting army theme now. Overall very happy with the selections CA made.

@@kreuzrittergottes9336 At the moment I use a few units as fast (for a dwarf) flank protection infantry. They are pretty good to catch ennemy flankers and protect your range. But as a full stack no they don't preform super well, apart maybe with Ungrim (but even them I don't full stack them). Now we can add some short range artiellery, range infantry, and heroes to block ennemy front line, it can be pretty fun theme army with a sprinkle of longer range units.
@@Coeurebene1 ah yes, I was trying to full stack them. I couldn't remember if legend had done that but while they def would win almost any battle, I would lose half the force and take like 5 turns to recover.
Get ready to save these disaster battles "I recruited 19 thunder barges but got rekt by harpies".
Unrelated to the subject of the video, hearing Legend talk about listening to the E-books at 6:23 when he was completely uninterested in warhammer lore back during the release of the first two games is quite interesting!

@@JayvH he did start his lore adventures during Wh2's runtime. But wh2 had a rough release and it took a year or two for the gears to turn and for legend to pick up the books and the lore.
If only sieges actually functioned in such a fun way.
4:01 Slaanesh is missing the melee heroe and the sorcerer lord. It is khorne the one that is completed simply becouse it has no casters.
Rock paper shotgun actually has an article out that lists all units for the DLC.
Empire gets Marienburg landships, Steam tank volley guns, Nuln Ironsides, Hotchland long rifles, Knights of the black roads, and Master engineers and engineers as the lord and heroes.
Nurgle gets plague ogres, rot knights, Toad dragons, Pestigors, and bile trolls (with the previously discussed lords and heroes)
Dwarves get doomseekers, goblin hewers, thunder barges, grudge raker thunderers, and slayer pirates, and then demon and dragon slayers as their lord and hero slots respectively (so very slayer heavy).
Going to be very interested to see the factional reworks, the article also states that there will be a full rework of mechanics for the three factions on the campaign map in a patch to go alongside the DLC, but obviously we need to wait for more info on that. The only real weird part to me is that we're getting a Engineer lord for the empire but no wizard lord, which feels slightly surprising to me.
If you ever read a bit of lore about empire wizards. it made total sense why there's no wizard lord. Wizards are landless and belong to their school. If they were a noble, then they lose their lands or their right of inheritance. Obviously they don't have a choice. Magic are frown upon because its dangerous so they wouldn't put much trust in them bar few exceptions. Plus let's be honest here. this is Nuln, its obvious they going to add an engineer lord lol.
Edit: also I do hope that their list is wrong. Not giving the empire a proper endgame frontline unit is massively disappointing. Was hoping reiksguard footmen. But I guess it doesn't matter since you can just borrow 4 dwarfs units and then your gunners could probably shoot over their heads.
@@gaborszabo5078 Also, across the factions, in terms of gameplay diversity wizard lords tend to be way more valuable than melee lords. This is technically CAs fault for not giving melee lords the tools to allow them to contend with wizards, but i really do get tired of trying the weak melee lords because im even more bored of the wizards, only to pivot back to wizards because they are just that underwhelming.
Beastmen, skaven, dwarfs among others all have this problem.

Where did you see the mention of faction reworks?
Malakai comes back in several later books too; him as a lord seemed weird at first but he always manages to find a couple hundred dwarfs to follow him and get in a scrap so it actually makes sense. Slayer engineers is a cool concept
In Gotrek and Félix books we encounter him. I imagined him more like a legendary hero with special abilities for slayers recruitment and replenishment, or artillery enhancement. Since he's a slayer and and an engineer, a legendary hero like Ulrika semt fine to me, but having him as a lord can gives him a hell of unique skills.

What I hope the most for the dwarfs, is that they got some sort of replenishment. Either through the new slayer hero or globally through other stuff.
well all heroes can use ironwarden tankard which you can craft easily, and for units its not that important anyway, especially for infantry (which is all they have anyway)

I think you might confuse regeneration with casualty Replenishment
Replenishment would be nice with the new hero or a third after battle option for replenishment % what many other races have. And some more speed for slayer based armies like for Ungrim.

It's especially important for infantry, which is like you said, their entire roaster.
And being forced to either recruit miners in newly captured cities or wait 4 turns in place just to somewhat recover is horrible & unfun. And that is in green territory, now imagine orange or red...
Meanwhile other factions laugh their asses off at that because they can fight each turn once they got their agents or technology.
The whole reason why bretonnia damsals got changed and now give replenishment in TW3 instead of item drop chance is because how essential replesnishment is to a faction. They were also one of the few factions that didn't have access to replenishment. Now the dwarfs remain.

Slaanesh doesn't have a caster Lord or Melee hero though :p Same boat as Nurgle pre-ToD, except opposite.
Also Slaanesh has only 1 LL which is lame

@@jibbanibba2000 I am pretty certain that Masque will be the FLC like Epidemious, I am guessing that Styrkaar will be the LH in Dechala's DLC as he fits the snake theme and will buff the Serpents of Slaanesh riders we will probably get.
Honestly I think that will be everything for Slaanesh we will get, unfortunately the least supported god. I really wish that GW had finished THrone of Chaos series for a big bad Slaanesh character like Tamurkhan and some more units.

The comment about there being no gap for Slaaneshi Warriors of Chaos doesn't seem correct. There is currently a Melee Lord for Slaanesh, but no Caster Lord (unless you count Daemon Prince of Slaanesh). There is only a caster hero for Slaanesh, but no melee hero. So there are some gaps that could be filled for WoC here.

I imagine Malakai's Spirit of Grugni is more akin to the pirate ships of the Vampire Coast. A suite of upgrades, with maybe the additional ability to bring it into the battle as a Thunderbarge with a unique skin/abilities.

Malachai is in a fair few of the gotrek and felix books after he is introduced. Hes my favourite character in the books so im excited for him and i wanted slayer heroes, makes more sense than a unit of slayers haha. Looking forward to playing him

Agreed, the Empire DESPERATELY needs a wizard lord (but sounds like they are getting an engineering lord instead). Most races can instantly recruit a magic lord, but the empire has the SECOND WORST access to magic, having to build a high-tier building, recruit a hero in that province, then march to a waiting army. Only SKARBRAND has worse access to magic (as he has none).
If CA doesn't want to give us wizard lords, at least let wizard heroes be recuit anywhere, and get free movement the turn recruited, and increase the recruitment cap (+1 for every level 1 major settlement?). You can lock certain lores of magic behind needing a tier 4 or 5 mage building somewhere in the empire. Of course, it would be easier just to give wizard lords (WH 2 had a great mod that did this.)
I really hope they make Elspeth a dual start position because I completely agree with Legend's point that it's too many lords close together, but you still want to feel like your empire faction is in the empire. I think it worked great for all the other dual start position lords who have been in a similar spot like Eltharion, Yuan Bo and Malus. Dual start positions are some of my favourite campaigns

£7.99 2 legendary lords with their unique faction mechanics - new lord types - nine new units - all the regiments of renown. Compared to the new 8 pound something for 1 lord-hero-5 units-3 regiments. Hope the faction mechanics are exciting enough to make up for it!

Im too careful to be properly hyped yet but as I expected it does look good... though there don't seem to be that many truly new DLC mechanics. Fingers crossed the mechanic overhauls for the 3 factions are more unique at least. The units are great tho, some very unique models and units I imagine (well, at least a decent part of them)
Time to revisit your slayer only campaign in WHIII
maybe the amethyst court will be another one of those like yuan bo or malus darkblade where they spawn on the other side of the world and have that expedition type campaign.

For Tamurkhan, I believe the lords that you get will be unique and both Norscan and WoC. Really hoping the campaign reworks pull through as this trailer and the content looks crazy. Very optimistic!
Slaanesh is still missing a sorcer lord and exalted hero. But units wise, there's next to nothing left I think.
Khorne has some units it can add but lord and hero wise, it's pretty much done.
Both factions however have a fair few LLs and LHs still.
I think it's very much a possibility the Slaanesh and Khorne DLCs in the shadows/thrones style are no longer being done. But hopefully, they get some love in a more general combined DLC that adds bits and pieces for multiple factions.
I will pre-order, but only after seeing all content and reviews are put out. So maybe the day before?
Slaanesh is actually missing their exalted hero and chaos sorcerer lord variants. But apart from that I believe the only units they are missing are slaangors and the tit snakes. Not necessarily the next DLC, but I think they'll get something down the line. Khorne is lacking khorngors, slaughterbrutes and some infantry variants I think. Although since a lot of the units are cross faction ones they could just do DLC for beastmen and WoC/DoC that added the missing ones.
important to note, from what ive seen preorders are not active. All you can do is wishlist, so theres that.

If Malakai Makaisson turns out to be a horde character one thing I would love to see is that allies in adjacent provinces can recruit from him kind of how we can recruit ogre bulls mercenaries and while he is inside of their provinces then that province can now recruit their own gunpowder units even if that province do not have the building for it. Maybe make it so this only works when Malakai Makaisson has got his own gunpowder building and the more it is upgraded the higher tier his allies can recruit from him or something?
We will obviously have to wait for the reworks, but so far ToD looks like absolute fire.

I’m not sure if it was this video or the one before it but you mentioned that in the next couple of years WH3 will stop getting content.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on what you think needs to be done by that time to leave the game as “balanced” (very loose word for WH) a state as possible before we get no more DLCs and content.
What factions do you think will get the remaining DLC’s?
In the lore Theodore Bruckner is the Headsman and personal judicial champion of the elector countess of Nuln. He’s basically the Ludwig Schwartzhelm of Nuln. He’s the guy who fights on behalf of the elector countess in trial by combat like Gregor Clegane for Cersei Lannister. In the lore he teamed up with Elspeth von Draken to slay Tamurkhan at the battle of Nuln, so I expect Elspeth to start in Wissenland and Bruckner to be her Legendary hero.
I knew it was very unlikely, but I was still hoping we'd get the actual elector countess of Nuln as well. Warhammer Fantasy Marie Antoinette could flesh out the Empire more than more warriors and flying wizards (though admittedly, those win battles and sell DLCs).
@@krmpmnn it would’ve been cool to see her, but she’s not really a fighter so I don’t know exactly how she’d fit into the current mechanics. They’d probably add Marius Leitdorf before her. And he’s dead in the lore. But hey they brought back Tsar Boris and Repanse so anything’s possible

Hey aren’t we missing Chaos Sorcerer Lord of Slaanesh and Exalted Hero of Slaanesh still? So we might still get a similar content pack for Slaanesh, just probably paired with 1 other Race instead of 2 like we had we SoC and ToD
The dwarf generic lord is the Demon Slayer, the hero is the Dragon Slayer, and the units are the Thunderbarge, slayer pirates, doom seekers, grudge raker thunderers and the thing that shoots axes
The routine is: new official trailer comes out, watch it straight away. Then, wait for LegendOfTotalwar to release his video about it !

Heavily depends on price for this dlc. This units for empire and dvarves was in mods for ages.
I thought they said you could buy it as a bundle like normal or individually, but I don't see any build pack on steam. Am I missing something?

You know, they might put Elspeth into the mountains of mourn/the darklands. There's zero empire presence there, and it would give you enemies that you seldom face as the Empire. Also would make for some interesting allies with Cathay nearby.
Hi Legend. Is the AI still so bad? Last time I played I just auto resolved every battle after turn 30. (Legendary difficulty)
Dont pre order until you see the campaign changes. All 3 races needed some help in that aspect. Units help there as well to some degree. Dont forget the cost, 3rd of the cost for a typical game.
I hope Tamurkhan will have a different spin on Nurgle's buildings from Festus. In terms of what still is missing from WoC roster - Slaanesh needs a generic Caster Lord and a generic Melee Hero.

@legend cannot get melee heroes dedicated to slaanesh for azazel or WOC in general, they dont have all their hero equivalents to the others.
Will be a shame if slaanesh is truly scrapped, was really hoping for a replenishment hero for them.
